    • @Ossouko
      @Ossouko 5 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Naomi Williams her content is what people with kinky hair need and it’s crucial for the natural hair community because she brings real facts and science on the table. Some TH-camrs have a million followers and bring false narratives and confusion. And are not knowledgeable.
      So since most people committed to natural hair contents want to have healthy and long hair or just healthy hair it is important a majority of girls/women with that type of hair follow her so they don’t revert back to the creamy crack. And at the moment a lot of them follow the “wrong “ people who give out wrong information and/or are just here for paid partnerships with click bait titles!🙄

      @@kaylynboyd2035 but some people's hair have no coils whatsoever even wet so what hair type is that?
      If you subscribe to the 4abc chart then it says 4c has very tiny coils with out much clumping. Clumping is 4a. According to it 4c certainly has no 'curl'

    • @kaylynboyd2035
      @kaylynboyd2035 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jessica Ike common sense tells you it’s not clear cut and it’s impossible for every person with the same hair type to have the same exact curl pattern. If you subscribe to the chart you also have to take into account density and porosity for why two people with the same pattern can have different looking hair.

    Ah! So happy to have stumbled upon your channel. As a women who was growing up in a time, the late 80s-early 2000s when natural hair was not as widely celebrated as it is now, I have seen and am now living with the consequences of that mindset and lack of knowledge. Now as a women with CCCA (scarring alopecia) It breaks my heart to think about where my hair could be today if only my mom and those around her would have known but I am a believer that God doesn’t make mistakes! As a mom of a baby girl now I am on a mission to educate myself in hair care as I go about caring for the beautiful crown God has blessed her with. Thank you for this video. Great info.! I've been natural for almost 30 years and I rocked a twa for 27 of those years. So, for me my tightly coil hair type pattern wasn't a consideration as I was rocking my twa with a daily wash-n-go.
    But then I decided to grow it out for a wedding where I was a member of the bridal party
    Then came the wake up call that the more I grew it the more I realised that I needed to understand the needs of my particular "4c" type hair once I realised that a lot of the recommended "4c-type" products did diddley squat for my hair with some doing more damage than helping.
    Before I saw this video, I thought I was nuts when I realised that I have predominantly the last three curl patterns described. Thanks, now the straight-jacket is off!👍

I've never seen two wash n gos that look the same out of all the videos I've watched, people I've seen in person, or pictures I've seen afro textured hair seems to be the one that's most diverse and unique like our fingerprints no two people have the same fingerprints or DNA excluding twins in that observation so thats why its hard to mimic someone else's regimine because the two heads aren't going to respond the exact same way so the trick is to customize a regimine for your specific strands thanks Green Beauty for these scientifically explained hair videos we need more of these videos instead of videos on ( Natural Hair Rules) we should follow because not everything works for everybody. ✊🏽✊🏽

    OH MY GOODNESS 😲 this video was sooo enlighten! I do notice my hair seems to have mostly “I” pattern in it, I always thought I couldn’t define my hair but this video answered it thank you Green Beauty

    My pattern is predominantly o which can be so annoying when it is to be detangled. I hardly see much videos specifically targeting the care of my curl pattern. I agree with you with heat my o becomes s pattern.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. i never knew my hair or how to take care of it so i just went along with everyone elses hair regimen (which obviously didn't help at all) but thanks to you i can make a routine that's good for me :)

    People don't understand that every hair type(3c,4a,4b,4c) can have any hair texture (textured wavy, S curl, zigzag etc.) This is so informative and I thank you for this video.

      I have noticed this too. I have mostly O and S and a little bit of i and L.

    I did not notice the fact about letting your hair air dry. You always have great information. ☺ My hair seems to have different curl patterns ( two patterns) . Soon I am going to try and figure them out.

    Preach! That chart limits us... I’m in between 4B/4C... which does not exist in that popular hair type system

    Could you do a video about color treated hair, caring, products with certain ingredients that is beneficial and keeping hair healthy while colouring

    to be honest, i find the kinky curly hair so beautiful. i get upset when i see so many women try to straighten their hair, if only they knew how pretty and unique it is. It is the most diverse hair in the world you can do anything with it basically. i think many African American women forget this. it is beautiful. love it for what it is. though i dont have curly hair, and therefore am not in the natural community i still support with love from a far ❤

      We do. People are allowed to switch it up here and there. Nothing wrong with it

    This hair typing system is better. I think I have a combination of all. Then again it depends on the state of my hair but in its shrunken state it's S and O curl pattern.
