What I learned after being a natural for 10 years: 1. Keep your scalp clean and healthy (ph 4.0) and avoid product buildup at all costs. 2. Keep your hair stretched 3. Never let your hair dry out 4. Avoid heat damage at all costs 5. Moisturize and seal the moisture in (LC, LO) 6. Avoid manipulating your hair and use long term protective hairstyles. 7. Use a shower filter 8. Avoid tension on your hair roots and on your edges. 9. Retain length by caring and protecting your ends 10. Sleep in a silk bonnet on a silk pillowcase. And the major source of this knowledge? It is your channel!! thanks so much 😊❤️
exactly instead of a bunch of damn wash and go's and twist and braid other that EVERYBODY do! lol. and with a bunch of make up or extremely fancy background.
i always comment on your graphics because they are so thorough! the girl shopping in the natural hair aisle and watching hair videos was so on point. i bet we all feel like we ARE that girl. :)
Oh my, I just found you out and I am hooked. I can't believe a hair scientist actually exists here on TH-cam. You are simply God sent. I am transitioning and I am lost as to how to take care of my hair, I've been watching so many videos but none like you. I'm so overwhelmed with your videos and you're doing such a fantastic job.
6 steps (for xomplete and clear information see the video please its really informative) Step1:do your homework Step2:start with simple regimen(handle, protect, cleanse, moisture) Step3: find products that suit your hair Step4:adopt a healty life style Step5:learn your complete hair type (link is given in description box) Step6:adjust your mind Welcome everyone :)
Great video and excellent article. Statistics? I'm not surprised. You are obviously a very intelligent young lady. Keep up the good work. I'm sure your mother is proud.
Truly your are one of the best natural hair educators online. You bring the science of natural hair care allowing us to take our emotions of the table so we can make the right choices to reach our hair goals. Endless chatter videos are of the past for me thanks to your research and knowledge. BTW your hydrolized protein has tamed my low porosity shredding OVERNIGHT. I appreciate you and will continue to support your efforts moving forward. Peace and Blessings.
Love the factually based information you always share with us, you make us black girls feel so proud of having someone like you, well educated and willing to share your knowledge. Thanks a lot. I´m battling with my natural hair after taking off synthetic braids. Believe me, you are helping me a lot.
Eight years into my natural hair journey and I'm here to relearn the basics. I've damaged my scalp from over manipulation and I'm using the scalp series to guide me. Sigh.
You are truly a blessing to the natural hair care world. I wish I would have came across your channel years ago. But I am thankful to God for honest and clear information now. Please keep your channels going for others on there natural journey.
Brava! I never thought I would see the woman who would be able to convince me that natural hair was as beautiful as straightened hair. When I saw the models on your video I was stunned. I personally have never been able to grow my hair even to my shoulders for the past 20 years. I don’t know why I have been afflicted in this way but I have noticed that if I try to keep my hair natural it becomes completely and utterly unmanageable and it never seems to stop shrinking and drying. Enough of me. I’m extremely impressed with your presentation with your command of the facts and with your style. The beauty of natural hair had completely eluded me until I saw your presentation. I find that I prefer it and of course I love everybody. I think I walk a little taller now because of what I’ve seen God bless you. I also desire you to have maximum success and happiness in your business and personal life. Keep going upward you’re taking the rest of us with you.
I’m so grateful 🙏🏾 to have come across your channel. You are so pretty, knowledgeable and encouraging. You really motivate me as a fellow African American woman who is truly learning to embrace my natural hair. Thank you and please keep doing what you do! 🙏🏾👏🏾💕❤️
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I too am not only on a personal hair journey, but I'm starting my own natural hair products line to share my gift and spread the FACTUAL knowledge. So I have to pay homage, women like you are inspiration for self sufficiency. Thank you “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” ― Maya Angelou
I really appreciate that you talk about finding others with a similar hair type. I follow several people. There product ideas, give you more options and excellent advice on occasions. I just did my last big chop. Mines was to let go hair color. I earned my grays! It's been a month since the cut and my hair feels, so much better. It isn't nearly as dry, as with my previous color. I won't make that mistake again. And on the plus side my texture and feel, is much better. Keep making the videos, they inspire me!
So Glad I have found your channel. I think you have saved me and my daughters hair. We're on a healthy hair journey and this is far by the best channel yet.
Good day I am a new subbie and since the whole Covid thing have been trying to take care of my hair. I am grateful for your videos. I have always watched but never subscribed.
I'm so happy to have found your channel very informative and helpful...I really appreciate your time and effort in helping us new naturals to better take care of our hair. Thank you so very much for sharing 😎👍🏾
I can have enough of your videos. Nee natural here. I learned so much from your videos!!! Love the simple profesional way you explain everything! Congrats! Keep the good work!
This is my first time watching your videos. A lot of tubers have the porosity thing wrong. From watching your video, I found out that I have high porosity hair. Thanks to you I’ve learned my hair.
Peace an Blessins ... This is the best video HANDS DOWN I,ve seen on Utube (I,ve seen a lotta vids) so far about carin for hair in a complete way ... I,ve done sme... incorrect things to my 11 yr locs an I was always gettin nowhere with wotever I tried to maintain them since about 3 yrs nw (b4 then they were really healthy) I,m nw movin forward to wot I believe is healthy hair Thanks to yr research an factual knowledge ... Yr a True inspiration
I can attest to how important it is to monitor your hair/scalp. I was having some crazy itching on my scalp, and I had no idea why, until I realized that my spritz was way too drying. It had apple cider vinegar AND lemon juice, and I was using multiple times a week, sometimes every day! I didn’t even seal it in with oil, so me and my high porosity self were just high and dry. Ridiculous... 😩 I switched it out with just aloe vera juice and rose water, and the itching went poof~
I can’t thank you enough for your videos, I big chopped a year ago and didn’t do my research. I watched so many of your videos as well as other natural youtubers and found myself feeling overwhelmed, anxious and thinking maybe I should go back to relaxing and just call it a day. I’ve recently started re-watching your videos but with a different mindset (with encouragement from my fiancé) and I’m excited to give my hair a chance and start my healthy hair and scalp journey. Thank you for all the information and please keep them coming! Love from a fan in London x
i love your natural hair it is so beautiful and i love all of the hair tips that you are giving they help me so much thanks and keep on doing what you do.
You are extremely informative. Your delivery is excellent. I don't know if your discipline involved education, but you certainly know how to gather, format, and impart knowledge. Keep it up ☺.
I always look forward to your videos. I was natural for 5 years and recently relaxed my hair. I'm ready to go back natural but not looking forward to the short stage of hair growth. It was nearly impossible to avoid knots because I couldn't protective style.
I believe I have alopecia, but I have not yet been diagnosed. Although late, I made a personal decision to "take the bull by the horn". I ended up doing the big chop. I have an upcoming appointment with a dermatologist, for a diagnosis, to know exactly what I'm dealing with. After the diagnosis, I would prefer to take on a natural approach in an effort to salvage and/or regrow my strands. I have about one month to go. While I wait, what would you suggest I do in terms of hair care?
@Greenbeauty I just want to give you a HUUUUUUGE hug, you are sooooo informational and you've helped me tremendously with my hair Journey. My hair thanx you, from the bottom of her strands.🙆💆💇💁 😄
My niece decided to go natural as a freshman in college but returned this summer with a weave because she was told it was a protective style for natural hair. I am concerned because I am seeing that she's losing her edges. How can I tell her a weave will cause alopecia, (balding,) caused by traction?
I need to start washing my hair more often cause I’m at a loss of what to do with it. I want to grow my hair out back to its original length and going natural has been hard for me because I never know what to use for it or how to style it because it’s short. So I just leave it in a ponytail. But this video i wish i found sooner. Now i know what journey i will be taking.
I'm trying to figure out if my hair is going through the exogen stage, experiencing increased hair breakage due to a mild heat damage, or if I need a good protein treatment. Brief account of the heat damage. Got a trim in March ( this year). I informed the stylist that I had applied avocado butter and grapeseed oil to my hair. She reassured me they were HEAT PROTECTANTs. She began flat ironing. No blowing drying or anything. I had just washed my hair and followed the loc method. I could hear SIZZLING SOUNDS ( similar to frying eggs). I stopped her more than 3 times. I was told my hair wasn't being fired and that I was hearing the products. My hair was put in a protective style immediately thereatfter. Don't ask me why she just didn't blow dry my hair and trim. Guess she wanted to see my length or something. But anyway, after a month in a half cornrows (natural hair) and half sengelese twist ( extensions) style. I noticed my hair was breaking off more than usual. My hair would break off just from a simple rub and more some when finger detangling /comb detangling. I noticed slight thinning. I have extremely extremely thick hair. I'm high density. You can't see my scalp when fully dried. I also had very very small section of my hair that would hang lower than the rest when wet or dry. . My hair normally shrinks 50 percents or more. That has also seemed to change slightly. I have no straight ends. It's just the constant breakage and pieces of hanging curls. I have/had tighter curls. I got a another trim this month (MAY) from another stylist. BEST IN HOUSTON... btw, I'm considering purchasing the real protein treatment. Although I'm not sure if my hair needs a protein treatment. It's just breakage! Breakage!! Breakage!!!. ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM SOMEONE MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! !!!! THANKS
Your videos are on point. It took me 3 years to learn everything you've been teaching about so I know the info is accurate. Thanks soooo much. By the way i'm loving the PH Spritz
You're not the only one, many people have this "syndrome" when they first go natural. Why not, our hair is interesting and beautiful. But, no worries overtime you will get more use to your natural hair and stop playing with it so much
I wash weekly and after two weeks per month so three times monthly but still have low sebum production. Should I use grease or oil or butters on my scalp weekly? I didn't understand the part you said about cleansing frequency. I try moisturizing my ends often but always end up with knots.
Your videos are above and beyond the call of duty...thank you for sharing what you know with your natural-hair sisters! On a different note, could you recommend a Natural Hair stylist in Buffalo NY or Niagara Falls, NY?
Your content rocks! Thanks for the super simple, informative and fun videos. You're really helping me learn more about what grows out of our heads, and create fun routines to meet my goals. Thank you xx
Thank you for your wise (factual) kind words and suggestions ... I will be trying the 3-6 months of trial and error with hair products so i can test the porosity of my hair and also rewatch the complete hair typing videos. I was wondering if you did anything on skin regimen such as getting rid of marks, getting supple skin, maintaining tone, care in the sun... etc. Thanks again :)
I am new to natural hair. I decided to do the big chop because I was over my relaxed hair. Now I am utterly lost. I have no idea what hair type is. My hair is so short that I don't know how to figure it out at this length. I want to make sure that I am doing the right things because I want it to grow and be healthy. If i have a TWA or a fade, how much of this should I be concerned with right now. What are the most important things I should do until my hair grows out?
im am 5 years natural, and I have had 3 setbacks, became product junky, follow some other regime, and I still have the same problem. the ends of my hair always break into balls. I am on my second order of your products, and overtime after protein treatment, I get breakage on my ends. My old hair dresser who analyze my hair said my hair is heathy even with the setbacks, but I can't seem to retain LENGTH! I trim, stretch, protect (with wigs and crochet braids). But one thing is for sure, I will never return to the creamy crack!!
I’ve been enjoying your videos a lot, your knowledge and the way you make the videos are great ! I used henna in my hair for a long time and never knew you should put lemon oil to release the pigment ! 😘
Can you do a video about caring for protein sensitive hair which is usually low porosity too. I have this combination and can't find advice anywhere! Thank you and I love your videos!
Hi! First of all I want to say congratulations for your channels! Second, I wanted to THANK YOU for all your amazing work, you do amazing things for all of us with all the researches and scientific explanations of how everything works. I found your channel as an amazing resource of inspiration and information too! On the other hand, I wanted to see if you were available and/or able to give a little consultation/advice. I have basically watched all your videos on YT and it's a lot! Don't even know where to start 😭 The fact is that I am having terrible hair loss along with my hair isn't growing properly. (I know this because I can see it in my roots). I am Pita type of person. My hair is very straight and thin. My diet is vegan/raw foods and I prefer staying on the organic/natural side of life rather than the chemical/synthetic side. I guess my question is; what kind of regimen would you do if you were having this issues? I started your onion and garlic recipe on my scalp yesterday. A million THANK YOU for your consideration and response!!!
Love your videos. There's not much to tangle for me. I have short grey hair. What do you recommend. Getting ready to cut it down again. I get split ends fast. Thank you for giving us knowledge on hair. 🌠
I'm so glad I found your channel. The most frustrating thing about my journey is finding the right products. Do you have any recommendations on a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner?
what do i do i cant big chop my hair cause im 10 my mom does not know the product to use cause she is relaxed too every time she says lets relaxed your hair i say no thank u
What I learned after being a natural for 10 years:
1. Keep your scalp clean and healthy (ph 4.0) and avoid product buildup at all costs.
2. Keep your hair stretched
3. Never let your hair dry out
4. Avoid heat damage at all costs
5. Moisturize and seal the moisture in (LC, LO)
6. Avoid manipulating your hair and use long term protective hairstyles.

8. Avoid tension on your hair roots and on your edges.
9. Retain length by caring and protecting your ends
10. Sleep in a silk bonnet on a silk pillowcase.
And the major source of this knowledge?
It is your channel!! thanks so much 😊❤️
This is what natural hair community needs! Explicit science and advise on how to care about our hair!
You're going to heaven, girl!
exactly instead of a bunch of damn wash and go's and twist and braid other that EVERYBODY do! lol. and with a bunch of make up or extremely fancy background.
+Jahna Trapp with loud music and wannabe model posing for 5 minutes lol.
+ronniemonnie lmfao I was gonna put that too you read my mind haha damn str8
+Jahna Trapp LOL girl you read my mind too. Like, how many wash and go videos do we really need? 🙄
Exactly lmfao. Like I'm so tired of the redundancy for fan base and likes, it's ridiculous
I just want to hug you and shake your hand for these videos. You are so brilliant. Thank you so much.
MsFlamingFlamer I feel the same way..
i always comment on your graphics because they are so thorough! the girl shopping in the natural hair aisle and watching hair videos was so on point. i bet we all feel like we ARE that girl. :)

For the science of hair...so far ,it’s you and nappyfu tv ...and probably natural85....the real hair gurus
I recently started, it's so interesting seeing my results 💗💗💗💗
It’s a great journey. It’s so interesting to see your hair grow and evolve
@Greenbeauty I just want to give you a HUUUUUUGE hug, you are sooooo informational and you've helped me tremendously with my hair Journey. My hair thanx you, from the bottom of her strands.🙆💆💇💁 😄

I absolutely loved your videos. Will like to watch the interview but the site is asking for a sign in option. What to do?
Thanks for your help with everything. You are very knowledgeable!

I'm mad I just found your channel but thank you so much
Can you explain how to care for colored treated natural hair? Love your work and please continue.
I want to thank you you have helped me more than you will ever know.
Your videos make me feel like I’m in class 😂, I’m taking notes n everything!!
My biggest set back is having hand in hair syndrome . Can you help me with this ?
You're not the only one, many people have this "syndrome" when they first go natural. Why not, our hair is interesting and beautiful. But, no worries overtime you will get more use to your natural hair and stop playing with it so much
lol, so ME
And me😕
I wash weekly and after two weeks per month so three times monthly but still have low sebum production. Should I use grease or oil or butters on my scalp weekly? I didn't understand the part you said about cleansing frequency. I try moisturizing my ends often but always end up with knots.
i love your channel! its my favorite one. i really needed some help with my natural curly hair and ive finally found it
Your videos are above and beyond the call of duty...thank you for sharing what you know with your natural-hair sisters!
On a different note, could you recommend a Natural Hair stylist in Buffalo NY or Niagara Falls, NY?
Thank you ! 😁 I recommend you as a Natural Hairstylist in Buffalo NY. No one will ever know your hair like you can.
GreenBeauty that's hilarious and a very good point!
Great tips. I test out products one by one or see what works just as you mentioned. I mainly make my own products.
Hi Green Beauty,
Thank you for all of your expertise.
Do you do one on one
consultations?
Thank you!!!
Thank so much for sharing this wonderful teaching video.
Your content rocks! Thanks for the super simple, informative and fun videos. You're really helping me learn more about what grows out of our heads, and create fun routines to meet my goals. Thank you xx
Thank you for all the beautiful tips.
Your mini twists are beautiful
im am 5 years natural, and I have had 3 setbacks, became product junky, follow some other regime, and I still have the same problem. the ends of my hair always break into balls.
Could you start talking about skin? I love your channel it has helped me so much in my hair journey.Thank you!

Thanks girlie :-)
I’ve been enjoying your videos a lot, your knowledge and the way you make the videos are great ! I used henna in my hair for a long time and never knew you should put lemon oil to release the pigment ! 😘

Hey, I clicked on the link to your blog. Love en words... It took me to a website with Chinese writing and images.
Thought you would like to know.
Can you do a video about caring for protein sensitive hair which is usually low porosity too. I have this combination and can't find advice anywhere! Thank you and I love your videos!
I love green beauty products. I wish you had moisturising products too
Palo Brie Coming soon ! it take me a longer time b/c it has to be truly effective for our hair. I hope you understand
Thank you so much. Your videos are so informative and easy to understand. You are professional yet my best friend in my head LOL
Gracias por explicarnos todo esto, realmente quiero mi cabello rizado de nuevo y me has ayudado mucho.
Aww you are so beautiful and knowledgeable! Your videos are such a help to me keep up the great work! :)
