A truly dazzling, but also perfectly mastered musical fireworks : perfect pitch, coordination, rhythms, balance : almost miraculously, no one in this huge crowd stands in the way of any of the others. Beyond the sheer jubilation shared by all on stage (and in the audience), I'm struck by the huge amount of quality work that was successfully invested in this piece. Inspiration and hard work are such a brilliant combination!
Considering how much of a swing band style the original song has, despite not having any brass instruments in it, i always hoped they did an orchestral version of this song. Glad to see my prayers answered.
I have watched this numerous times. This time I noticed how well this was filmed. Any time a certain instrument stands out, from percussion to piano to the trumpets, they’re always in shot.
Found myself smiling so widely while watching this I had to comment. Good, fun, lovely. The joy exhibited by the singer is contagious, I love how she moves.
Sensational. Stumbled across this and was blown away by the infectious joy of all involved. Always loved Do you Thing and this orchestral version is a great tribute.
GORGEOUS!!! THAT ENTRANCE OF THE SINGERS....WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!
Sorry, had to revisit one of the best happiest fun groove-time videos i have ever known. I cannot believe all the talented people that make this presentation so sweet! Again, thank you all at the Metropole for posting. Much love from Denver!
This orchestra is so talented in adapting styles, they can do everything seemingly effortless. They where founded by the NOS (like BBC but Dutch) and in the beginning funded by Dutch taxpayers. After this was cut significantly crowdfunding became their source (with ofcource boxoffice aswell) they managed to survive for decades, and still going strong. You just gotta love them👍🏻
Who was the arranger? Fantastic use of the big band and importantly the rest of the orchestra especially the strings. Extraordinary arrangement overall.
@@0AndrewBolt0 He is the chief-conductor of the Metropole Orkest since 2013 or 2014, lives in Berlin but hops into the Orkest's HQ in Hilversum, the Netherlands
Blues are already gone...didn't even make it to the vocals. Great orchestration and talented players, too. Keep up the great work! Best Wishes from Denver, CO, EU.
"Great buildup. It’s not for the video, it’s for the people who were there, so they can’t click out anyway." absolutely. I love the buildup either way.
no patience.the plague of todays youth...... i want it NOW or I'm skipping.good job we had the patience to listen to great albums in the 70's and 80's and make them huge sellers, thus influencing everyone after that.
Many non-white musicians do NOT get the credit they deserve. For example, Basement Jaxx "Do your thing" samples the song entitled "Fungii Mama" by KENNY BARRON. The original "Fungii Mama" is by TOM BROWNE. 😞😞 END RACISM AND CLASSISM (in music).
I love that intro. I especially love that real dank Garibaldi kind of groove against the really colourful orchestration.

This has cheered me up so much tonight!! Their happiness is infectious. I've never heard anything like this in my life!

The violinists are LOVIN' it, you don't see violinists smile often! :-)
I think that is Alida Schat.
Amazing how good the orchestra is and how well they work with the vocals. I just love this tune..
2024 still miles high with this performance!!!

@2:00 how the conductor stops the trumpets. Fascinating.
Awesome!!!!
When I clicked on this, I told myself "How the hell are hey going to do this for an orchestra." Silly me, of CORSE they'd do it as a big band song.

Definitely one of the best orchestras in the world. There's room for improvement, but they're definitely on the right track.

Jules Buckley - guy who’s conducting :)

These women remind me of THE WEATHERGIRLS (It's Raining Men)
How about: the launchpad to a spiralling rocket-powered mindjaculation?
Swingt, de pan uit.....^_^ Het wordt weer eens tijd dat Eindhoven opnieuw, ruim zes jaar na dato- hiermee wordt verwend..^_^
02:00 is what your looking for
No.
Could have done without the intro. I nearly closed the video before it got good.
Gaelan McCann | Great buildup. It’s not for the video, it’s for the people who were there, so they can’t click out anyway.

CAN IT GET FUNKIER ?
OF COURSE NOT
*everybody dances in the public*
Drummer. Relax!
0:44 - Donald Trump playing bari???
Donald wouldn't know how to play in section….it's the Metropole Orkest's long-standing baritone saxophonist Max Boeree
He can’t even hold a tune, let alone a bari😂
het nummer hey you vind ik veel beter klinken dan dit nummer
