I really don't know why everyone seems surprised at this performance! If you've been a Shirley fan like I have for 60 years and counting you'd know this lady is capable of anything! And in a career of 66 years she's proved it time and time again. Phenomenal.
It was cute! No disrespect to Ms. Bassey because I love her body of work. But she only has style of singing that comes across when I hear hear her, Pop, rock, Rhythm and blues is not it. But as fan and people like yourself, and other people like me who is open to all styles and sounds of music would only appreciate the effort. There is only one Diva! God rest her soul, that was able to do it all and capture all generations of fans despite her horrific addiction that messed with her voice over the years and tragic murder by the powers that be, is Ms. Whitney Houston. Like her or not! Respect her or not, deny it, or agree with me! No one could never take that from her until the next one comes along in the future.
I hope P!nk realizes what an honor and a privilege it is to have her song covered by Shirley Bassey. Even watching her now 2022 in her mid 80s taking the stage to sing Goldfinger, it just gives you chills.
I feel ashamed that after 12 years I'm knowing this beautiful cover!! damn!! Shirley sings beautiful she's a diva!! love it!!! the arranging was excellent!
What a lady, what an amazing performer. This song is perfect for her. I'm priveliged I got to kiss the hand of this great lady during a concert at Blackpool Opera House in the year 2000, she also gave me a carnation. A lovely lady.
Wow!I actually like it better than the original. Has that James Bond flavor to it.Sounds jazzy & romantic. And oh,that voice -powerful! Dame Shirley Bassey forever. Respect darling!
I've always loved this song. But man, Shirley Bassey made it her own! And I love the whole 60s James Bond thing. And she was 70 when she did this? She looks and sounds fierce! Take a lesson, young singers. When you can nail a song like this at her age, THEN you're a legend!
I love this woman so much. Spent all of the 60s and 70s not liking her because my father considered her ‘pop music’ and ridiculed everything she did. But when she did ‘All The Sad Young Men’ I cried buckets and couldn’t deny her any longer. You absolutely rock, Dame Shirley, and you outsing this daft pop song by a million starry miles. I’m SO glad you got to revive Goldfinger for the Bond anniversary. Good bless you, you gorgeous woman…😍
_Ballad Of The Sad Young Men_ is also one of my all-time favs!!! ... It's pure brilliance how she brings out every emotion in those powerful lyrics to create a truly poignant masterpiece! 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽

the story!!! the lyrics!! the passion the emotion! i love the cinematography and lighting and attention to detail. i mean you thought about everything even the credits... beautiful
This is as good as it gets. Shirley Bassey is unique. She started her career way back in the fifties and is still enthralling her vast following of fans in all age groups.

I was going through a bad time 15 years ago, and this performance was such a wonderful escapist listen. Now in 2023, I'm happier in every dimension of my life and it's good to go back to pay homage to this ELECTRIC woman and her voice.
This song sounds like ive just been captured by my main villain and now they've tied me up so that they can make me watch their rehearsed musical number (and of course I mean this in a loving way)
Pink's version was more "in your face" and sweaty...the kind of song that makes you move till you sweat on the dance floor. Shirley's version is more polished and sophisticated The best version depends on your perceptions. Different strokes for different folks! PS: Shirley was 70 when she recorded this video and she was looking like a stone cold *FOX* (like the old people say...lol.)

This is a fantastic cover, but I think what I love the most is that she is obviously having a wonderful time doing it. :) As a side note, it's nice to see men used in a synchronized floor routine (as opposed to the usual scantly clad women), and the choregraphy and visuals are equally classy and well executed.

The fabulous Miss Shirley Bassey ❤❤❤
This looks like Bob Fosse choreographed a James Bond opening. Sounds like a Bond song too. Shirley Bassey is amazing
like JAMES BOND at RIVIERA.....
She makes it sound like a lost Bond theme. These sounds so awesome
She sang several Bond themes.
Al comenzar a oírla me llevó directamente a los temas de 007 por el acompañamiento orquestal.
It really should've been...
That's the same exact thing I thought. She's so James Bond-y! 😁

An looking like she does.
I love it when artists cover a song you'd never think would be their thing and completely own it.
Johnny Cash, "Hurt".
Own it? She grabbed it by the cojones and milked it! Pink who?
