Really enjoying this weathering series! The simple tricks of the trade is what really gets me excited LOL... like using wire to obtain scratches not only on the dust but can then be applied to micro chipping paint with AKi chipping solution. I thank you very much my friend for all the wonderful knowledge you bestow on us!
    Take care!

Love the way you stress the point... "you are not going to have indentical dust on both side" i was once OCDed trying to get both side the same!

I enjoyed this video. WHen you are done with the weathering do you spray a matt finish on the vehicle to prevent the pigments from coming off?

A light mist of either Tamiya XF-20 thinner or odourless paint thinner. A very light mist.

"Not going to have both sides perfectly the same'"- how true. Which implies further, that there always seems to be a better side, maybe a particular technique employed like streaking or rust effects that came out significantly better on one side versus the other. At least this is my case. Hopefully practice will bring more consistency. Thank you for the clip.

First, before I forget, I have been meaning to ask you about your opening "salvo" and wanted to know what delicious animal was on the receiving end of that "hopefully" fatal shot? My follow-up question would then be, how much of it is still left in the freezer? :-) But seriously, the work you are doing on this tank is amazing, really liking this series...Oh, a quick complaint: your videos do seem to be gettng a bit more vulgar, not just the language (which I understand is job related) but in the constant trips to "the gutter" your mind takes (ex. wet fingers, impregnating, lubrications, etc.). So, as a fellow parent, my suggestion is to NOT change a thing!!!! Keep doing what you are doing, brother, its great stuff and brings some levity to the community!!! Now go out into God's beautiful country you are surrounded with and kill something!!! LOL

As I type this I am at my dear old Mom's place ready to butcher the two white tail hanging in the garage tomorrow morning. Will go out again in late November and try for a buck. The rifle sound is actually from You Tubes creator page for music and sound affects. Trips to the gutter, damn I just can't be Mr. Perfect all the time. I just gots to be me. I'm not vulgar all the time but once in a while it just slips out. I think I make a better video when I'm relaxed and just talking like I am talking to a buddy and lets face it unless two guys are a t a church social (something which I never have) there is going to be vulgarities. : And besides Tommy you have been the only person to catch the wet finger remark... ;)

ScaleModelAlberta Sounds like the freezer will be full of some fine venison very soon!!! Great stuff, and yeah, I knew the gunshot was "created", I was just pulling your leg...lol...hey, brother, although I have toned my "vulgarities" down, especiallly with the little ones running around, before marriage and kids, I would be the one with a steady and constant air war dropping "F" bombs every other word, worse than a sailor!!! Now, since I was obviously so tuned in to your commentary and caught that "wet" remark, what prize do I get? :-) Just kidding, you have a great weekend with the family, get those knives sharpened and get that venison in the freezer!!! I think it will be a very very cold winter so you gotta stock up!!! God Bless ya, brother, and be safe...

do we have to use to use the specific mig products since your title does not mandate them ? or will others work the same?..I ask because to mention specific products/colors/technique, yet the title is very generic... ect...

So far I have used the Vallejo pigments and Mig. The Mig is hands down the better product. BUT you get twice as much Vallejo for half the price. Bottom line is use what you have and what you can afford.

thanks ,I have heard that certain pigments wont work the same,, I have not tried the mig type
