    Great series! I am planning on building a "barn find" diorama of a 1920's fire truck. This series has awesome information that transfers across many building genres! Keep up the great work!

    Wow! This is an excellent tutorial. Between watching the parts I ordered myself some MIG pigments with peripherals so I can try on a Trident army tractor. I also think this is the best tutorial on the net about pigments. Many thanks!

    Excellent tutorial. I don't build tanks only aircraft but this is absolutley awesome, so life like. I can use some of these techniques on aircraft. Thanks for sharing.

      ScaleModelAlberta LoL...now that is funny...You work in oil fields, survive the Great White North each year, put food on plate with your shooting/hunting skills, build museum quality models and can't figure out a new HD camera...sorry, but I have to chuckle!!! Did I mention you have some razor wit with those one-liners?...lol...well, when you get it figured out, we will be anxiously awaiting to see what you learned... :-)

    My type of weathering Glockster. I'm going to root out my tamiya weathering sets today. I used just these and mig pigments in my early vids but have moved away from them of late. Time to revisit them I think! .

    A really informative and entertaining series of videos you've done mate. Cheers for taking the time to do them.I've been looking into using pigments and pastels for the first time and these have been just what I was looking for.Awesome looking Ariete btw. I have the earlier Trumpeter kit without the armour addons, and if mine turns out half as good, I will be really pleased. Cheers again! ;)

    Wow, that looks awesome.
    Would you recommend highlighting the panel lines instead of post shading before the dusting?

    Just a thought. But when I wanted to know where the fueling ports on a tank were, I researched it. Hmmm...? You Canadians are smart!

    Is there any point in varnishing a model when you have used pigments for weathering? I did a Bradley like this, and it is slowly reverting to fresh paint!

    Great tutorial on how to use those pigment sets....Thanks Brother. The Italiano tank looks dusty, oily, and weathered. A very realistic effect has been achieved. Do you seal the pigments or just leave them alone....sometimes sealing lessens the effect? Keep having fun Brother.
    Bill.

      Can seal with a very light mist of paint thinner....but I have had a few disasters doing that. I think this one will be hands off. You and Grendel take care man.

    How do you fix that dust on the tank? Every time I have some nice dry-looking dust effects on my tank and put a matt varnish on it they disappear.

    • @ScaleModelAlberta
      @ScaleModelAlberta  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very, very light application of either Tamiya X-20A or odorless paint thinner from an airbrush at about 10psi.
