the symbol you pressed at 2:43 is for autosampler, its different to regular sampling. Basically if you have a synthesizer, you can set it so that it will automatically sample a set of notes/keys automatically and then creates a keygroup for you to play it back like a synth.
This is a very nice instructional presentation, but I just received my MPC II and know absolutely nothing about it. I did manage to insert an SD card that has full tunes (in backing track form) on it, but I can't even figure out how to play them. My initial idea was to be able to play and record these samples so that I could change the pitch to match my voice, without losing the tempo. Every program I've tried changes the pitch by slowing the tempo. That doesn't work when you want to use the backing vocals an it's very hard to remove them from a track without distorting the music. I don't need MPC 101, I need MPC 0001...for an extreme beginner LOL. Thanks for this presentation in any case.
I've never really been drawn to step sequencers to be honest, Just a personal thing - no real logic behind it. I have see Dibiase using the it to good effect though. For me its a bit pricey looking for what it is
I really like the mpc live 2 but it has a few things i wish they would add More effects, xlr/combo Jack Connection ( i Know there is a way around it with the Audio Inputs) USB Audio out like on the Roland mc 101 because you can easier record the mpc into the PC/Phone. Maybe a Programm that tells you what key the Sample is ( i Know there Apps for it but it WOULD BE COOL let me dream...). I think if you could input a SD Card up to 500gb that would be awesome. More virtual Instruments and synths without buying Packs from akai! A few things i wish they would Update or put into a Version 3 because its a good device.
I can't imagine filling 500gb with beats that would be some catalogue! I'm still really fresh to this device so theres not much annoying me at the moment coming from an SP lol. I'm sure over time I will begin to notice things I don't like.
Good news is that there actually IS key detection in latest 2.10 update: "With Key Detection, MPC will automatically detect the key of the imported sample, saving you time previously spent on randomly guessing and clicking piano roll notes." Hope that helps you :)
I'll have to see what it does yeah. Makes sense for the 'ch' is damn annoying though! If it lets you rename something why would it then shove that on the end lol.

Hats off to you bro, thanks for covering stuff not in a lot in other tutorials!
No problem! Glad to help
Use pad parameters…the ch at the end of the sample name is short for chops…

@@spvidz you'll get used to it and igbore it after a few days
