    Just wanna say I’ve had my Live 2 Retro for a year now, started watching your videos 2 days ago and I’m already feeling more comfortable with it than I ever have since buying it, I was close to giving up because it’s a huge learning curve for me but you got me back on the right track 💪🏾 keep it up bro 💯

      Stick with it! I was in the same boat in the beginning, its now my go to vs PC DAW's. It took me long to finally conclude its has everything you would need. Videos like these are always very helpful exploring different menu dives and ideas. Malo is bueno!

      I must admit I bought the mpc live back when it first came out and the learning curve was very irritating. I tried and tried watching videos daily hitting up people for help but noone considered helping i felt as if they were looking at me like a burden instead of passing on the knowledge. I'm currently in the process of buying another one the mac's are great investments and when you master a craft noone can never take that away from you...

      Malo, that might be one of your greatest videos. Brother, that was incredibly informative. You are blessed in how you explain things easily, that a beginner can totally follow (that's what I am - a total beginner). Two quick questions: (1) If you were using your MPC One, instead of the Live II, could you hook up those two external boxes and the Analog Heat?; and (2) Are you still working on that paid (at least I hope it is for purchase) complete tutorial for the MPC One? Thank you again. Blessings, Hermano.

    Salute Malo. I forgot about running my MPC boxes through external effects boxes like you have shown. It’s funny how I used to do that in the 90’s with the MPC 3000 running through either the DBX or Alesis 3060 compressors running into my Mackie board. I got so used to working in the box. I’m going to look into those two devices. Collect at all times. ✌🏾

    if you're using it as an interface can you get DAW/computer audio monitored thorough the built in speakers with playable latency while also using the built in instruments/effects?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brother, this is such a great question and I have not tried this out but definitely did come to mind since the downside of this standalone workflow has been that minor delay. I hope to try out that workflow you mentioned very soon and get back to you on this. I highly appreciate you taking the time

    • @shatteredsquare
      @shatteredsquare 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@malobeats dang you say downside, is there already noticeable playing latency in the built in speakers when using it standalone?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shatteredsquare it is a few milliseconds delayed and in my personal opinion it is not noticeable. The only time you will notice it is when you’re trying to do some type of parallel processing which I use a lot, as you’re bringing up the outboard gear volume you’ll notice a small phase which should not be there. That would be the only downside but if I’m running my signal through the pedals without trying to do any parallel processing it’s been solid for me.

    As someone who is looking into buying i need some advice from experienced mpc live users, from most of the tutorials ive seen the mpc seems to be very set in sequencing a certain bar length but is it possible to mix it up, for example record a 2 bar drum loop and then record midi keys or bass for 8 bars and then guitar or something in the audio input for 16 bars with the other sequences looping underneath?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey brother, this is a great alternative and I can see this working. It could be that the attack transient is a little less IMO for example with hard hitting drums but with most samples it would be not noticable. I just zoom in and set it manually because the zero crossing is not always right, and because I always did it like that with maschine too.

    Hey Malo, thanks for the tutorial! I was wondering, have you found any workaround for clearing all note events on a track while the sequencer is running? I know you can hold pads + erase, but thats kind of a drawn out process when you're jamming with someone and just want to move on to another idea... for some reason that Erase window is only available when the MPC is stopped. Seems like the kind of thing I could have accepted with earlier boxes, but not today....

    When using tap tempo how do I know which is the best bpm to use .??

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question brother, are usually tap out the temple and whatever temple is shoot at me I know it’s going to be any number close enough to word I tapped out. In this case I believe I was tapping out at about 62bpm but I decided to change it and leave it at 65 so it’s only a few notches above so I do my best to stay close to the number I tapped out originally and 90% of the times the temple always works with me, if I felt that the temple was still a little bit off I was just adjusted by a few notches but this method always works very well.

What do I have to do if I want to add more chops and add an extra 2 or 3 bars of samples- Chops and also duplicate the beat and everything across so everything fits together? I take it it may have something to do with the different between Sequence- Tracks? Sorry I come from Ableton and I am getting a little lost lol

      Hey man, thank you for dropping by in sharing this request. I’m usually rocking in standalone mode but the MPC studio is still here and it does get used every now and then so I’ll definitely do a video very soon on my workflow with the MPC studio very soon. Blessings to you

    Hey, I wanna become a Music Producer. I’ve just got the Akai myself without knowing anything about making a beat, can you make a video showing how to make a beat from the very beginning

    Please make a video just on how to report bug issues these days with hardware
    I mean the website has changed recently
    And I don't see any videos yet from the big ones on this issue alone
    And and I feel if we are reporting the issues
    Workflow would really really improve for us all

    This is a focus on sample chopping. The least interesting part of MPC functionality.
    You gloss over the general workflow.
