nice video! I just bought a 2006 vstar 1100 Silverado off a buddy last week for a second motorcycle. I also live in Coweta county! I'm going to try same method I have motion pro tools but mine are the smaller set. replacing both tires, all the brake calipers new rotors and new pads. bike sat for over 8 years.
I will say, make sure the tires are nice and warm when you put them in the rims so the rubber can stretch and use plenty of lube! Lol. I used soapy water, but I've also seen Windex used too. It helps the rubber slide over the rim. Even then it takes muscle to get the last bit of the tire over the rim. Since you're local, we should meet up and head for a ride sometime!
The best part of your commentary was that every time you announced the end of a "fun part", you would say "now comes the fun part.", which is kind of like saying once you get down below the surface of the mud, there's more mud. If I'm going to buy a tire, the seller is going to install it.
An easy way to air it up is to ratchet strap the tire. Put the ratchet strap around the whole tire and squish the tire against the rim. As you’re airing it up the bead will pop on
Also, put A pipe under the back tire of your car and put the very edge of the other end on the tire you’re trying to break the bead. Slowly back over the pipe and it should break the bead
@@Flizzor it's doable. Definitely have some lube on hand 😜 like Windex or soapy water. Make sure the tire is nice and warm and it should pop on with a little muscle! 💪 It took me some time and several choices words before I got it to seat right. But it's been several thousand miles since then and it's still going strong! I love the Commander tires!
@@tubabilly I should’ve been more specific but that’s good to know for the future, I’m talking about just the process of taking off the back tire with the final drive.
@@Flizzor there's some bolts and pins holding everything together. But it should slide right off with a little persuasion. There are plenty of videos showing the disassembly process. Good luck!
I wish you would have slowed down when it came to the washers and bushings where they are all at exactly. Because I cannot find one freaking blueprint on my 2003. That says exactly where everything is supposed to be. I think I'm missing something.. the tire rides way too close to the brake caliper side of the frame. My brake disc bolts touch the brake bracket.
I got it off Amazon. I've just used it this once, but it did a decent job. ZENY 1100 LB Wide Deck Motorcycle Center Scissor Lift Jack Repair Hoist Stand Bikes ATVs,Motorcycle Dirt Bike Scooter Crank Stand a.co/d/fQi8PFg

I agree with cutting off the old tire. Much easier.

Is putting it back on hard ? What would you rate this job I’ve taken the front one off but not the rear I don’t wanna be stuck with it off lol

@@tubabilly yes I am aware of that I just don’t wanna be stuck with my tire off lol but thanks 👍

What lift is that? I have a behemouth of a lift that's almost too big to go under my Suzuki C50...

@@tubabilly Thanks!
Great job.
Not balancing?
I put it on a balancer and I lucked out that it was balanced without adding or removing any weights.
i see that GOD was with you so we could meet again...that tire was BADDDDDDDD
Very! That's Beyond a "May-pop" tire. That was a "will-pop" tire! I'm just glad it didn't explode on me!
