My explanation for the celebrities is that it's in character for Peggy to invite them as a flex, and them showing up as a courtesy not that they have any meaningful relationship with the hills. It honestly would've been a cool episode for Peggy to be trying to assemble all the guests as a super throw back. It could've had things like Bobby accidentally running into Marie, and that is why she's at the wedding. Another funny one would be if Peggy asked Hank what people he's inviting and he literally just opened his callbook and invited whomever was on it so that's why all the Strickland Propane people, Pratley, Bernie Macs character, the social worker etc. showed up.
I always thought that Tammy would have been friends with the Hills for long after, because she was like a seedy Luanne and Peggy would have taken a liking to continue helping her out. As an educator, she takes that seriously. And it would placate Hank in his quiet compassion while still being judjmental.
It actually feels like a better ending episode compared to the real finale. There’s something about having a wedding be the end of a show to lead into the “rest of their lives” for us to never see.

Despite the timeline being a little weird, almost like it’s been a year from Hanks point then again, the writers and the one that everything up really wish that Mike Judge literally fought harder on defending his show. But either way, I will say this, it does make sense to have everybody together just in case the show doesn’t get renewed. Although I’m willing to say that this probably should have been the ending of King of the hill. I know it seems kind of harsh, but I feel like this should’ve been the ending. That makes perfect sense. That way we don’t have to run into more problems in the future with well the way the show went.
It's funny that King of the Hill's best supporting character sounds exactly like Butthead and Beavis and Butthead's best supporting character sounds exactly like Hank Hill.
If there is one thing I always appreciated about King of the Hill, is that it ended. 2 times, infact. It didn't become "Evergreen" like MOST of the other FOX shows. (Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, ETC...)
Weirdly, I was just talking about Ernst today. The man who, by all accounts, must be gay but turns out to be a married man with a child. Also, the deleted scene was interesting. I always saw KOTH as taking place over a couple of years (giving Dee Dee enough time to get pregant and give birth to GH, as well as Lucky and Luanne enough time to get to know each other before getting married). The idea that some episodes didn't actually happen would explain the numerous holiday episodes.
Lucky and Luanne are a big f u to the status quo shit the Simpsons is afraid of breaking Luanne could have ended the series in the den but she got married, had a kid, went to collage, and became a hair stylist
Whoa. They change stuff on The Simpsons. They just killed off LARRY. You remember LARRY, right? That guy that is in the background in Moe's and hangs around with Sam, that guy that wears a hat. HE'S TOTALLY DEAD NOW, AND HE'S NOT COMING BACK! THIS IS A MAJOR CHANGE TO THE STATUS QUO! (You probably could tell this was sarcasm, but this is the internet so I have to announce it.) Also, the writers forgot to include Sam in this episode. Literally the only thing people who know who Larry even is, is that he always hangs out with Sam, but the writers forgot. And Marge got throat cancer from her sisters' second-hand smoke! That's why she sounds like that, right? I haven't actually watched more than a few clips from the last 10 or 20 years, so I assume that's what must've happened.
I like the implication of the Deleted scene that Ether A) Bill for some reason dreamt of an elaborate backstory for his friend Hank's birth while on a food poisoning bender, or B) Hank thinks it's just as important that Bill not know that was where ge was born as it is that he not know he can drive a tank.
You know in season 8 who didn't suspect that Cotton and Didi were going through a separation, (how is 'fine call your lawyer' not code for divorce) but clearly they made up(however it could have been as likely that it was either related to property, insurances or in case of him getting arrested, with how Cotton lived and the property damages he would cause)
I imagine the deleted scene was intended to explain why the characters didn't age in the past 10 years. Although an animated series has the luxury of keeping characters the same age, they wind up having to retcon origin stories (Since the Simpsons characters are still the same ages, they wind up having to retcon their origin stories constantly). I'd say one issue off the top of my head with the deleted scene is that this episode debuted after "Grand Theft Arlen". "King of the Hill" debuted in 1997, so a year later would mean this episode takes place in 1998. Although Grand Theft Auto I came out in 1997, "Pro-Pain" is based off of Grand Theft Auto III and its sequels. Grand Theft Auto III came out in 2001, so I'm not sure how that would've either existed or a fever dream of Bill. I imagine fans would've likely been upset arguing over which episodes were canon or non-canon.
Yeah that's the weirdest inclusion. It makes sense for Luanne to invite her beauty school friends and co workers, and Hank and Peggy seem like the type to invite their friends and acquantinces, but Page feels too removed and antagonostic to be invited
@@xanferra The only reason I can think of is that maybe he was Luanne's social worker when she was a kid and he's the one who got her away from her parents and handled whatever situation she was in before she went to live with the Hills, whatever it was. Always bugged me that Junichiro was there since not only was he only related by marriage, but since she wasn't part of the trip, he never met her, so it made no sense that he'd do that.
Almost none of the wedding guests make any sense, but Junichiro definitely makes the least sense. Like why on earth would Luanne invite Cotton or Boomhauer's relatives to her wedding?
@@FrenkTheJoy It's at least reasonable, if unlikely, when it's someone she met, but someone she hasn't? Just weird. Espeically someone who has to fly halfway around the world to attend.
Maybe it has to deal with that Junichiro has no maternal siblings, and no wife (so no in-laws), so he took the trip to the States to have a family experience. Also, if the whole King of the Hill Story took place within a year, that means meeting the Hills was a recent event, and he wanted to build those relationships with his half brother. I’m not a fan of the one year thing (3-4 years feels more reasonable), and glad it’s been mostly retconned.
I get what they were tryin to do since that was the original finale of the show, but why would Lucky or Luanne invite people they never met. Youd think people like Meemaw boomhaur and lane pratly wouldn't be invited. A lot of the one off characters, regardless if they played the antagonist of the hill/platter families, why would Lucky or Luanne invite them? I want answers cuz im confused as hell
Hmmm I can say at least 3 years to be more canonical accurate...since we seen Bobby go from 12 to 14? I think in season 1 when Cotton was first introduced in Bobby's bday then that is him turning 12 to an epsd in Season 13 I think about Bobby saying he should get a big BDAY party to celebrate him turning 14.
It's a way to show that I read the comment and to give thanks for commenting because it helps the algorithm, plus if someone comments it means they watched at least part of the video, and I appreciate they gave me some of their time. Trust me, there's a lot of comments I do not agree with.
@squirreltactics Ahh, my mistake. I was thinking this was season 12 or 13 (whichever was the last.) Guessing this was earlier in the show then I remembered.
@@squirreltactics Makes sense that I was mistaken. When I rewatch, I usually stop at season 7, and it's been a long time since I even got that far. Thought he passed around that season, not this one.
If that deleted scene was official, it would've meant the whole show took place in 1997 , which would contradict a lot of things like the Y2K episode, The Kelly Clarkson cameo , Dale saying " Life in the 21st century" , the episodes where the characters aged. Yeah, I understand why it was deleted. Now, that Tilly and Gary were there, it almost makes me wish it was the series finale
Y2K never happened, neither did the Kelly Clarkson cameo, Dale never said “life in the 21st century, and none of the characters have ever aged, those were all vivid dreams bill had after eating food from that revolving Hungarian restaurant in mcmainerberry.
For the record it does speak volumes that Hank's half brother was able to attend Luanne's wedding, granted getting an invitation is not the same as an RSVP(and I concur it was probably a given that he just had some business in America and that he had enough time to attend it)
All the cameos also go to show how hank and co managed to make so many friends and connections while helping better everyone around them. I feel a lot of the crowd would be broke not alive or in a bad situation if not for the hills aside peggy

@squirreltactics just wanna let you know I'm definitely a regular here on your channel now hahaha.
@@ohyeahisthatwhatyouthink6088 Well thank ya, glad you're enjoying our stuff.
lucky knowing all these people makes the least amount of sense in the entire show
Yep
Honestly, im surprised. Why luanne let Leanne back into her life.
Ooh hey discount Shady Doorags posted a video
Not sure if that's a dig or a compliment, but I'll take it.
@squirreltactics Just a light hearted dig, keep up the good work bro
Man Arlen has had a lot of a fires and natural disasters in one year
Always bugged me that Junichiro was there since not only was he only related by marriage, but since she wasn't part of the trip, he never met her, so it made no sense that he'd do that.
Marie is the weirdest one to me, like why is she there?
It's only reasonable that these are more so Peggy and Hank's guests, not Luanne's and Lucky's.
Wait… how is cotton alive? Did he die before luane got married
He died the next season
@@squirreltactics he did… I guess it’s been a long time since I watched king of the hill. I thought he died before they got married.
Oh wow! I’m never this early!
Squirrel Tactics 🐿️ where everybody’s comment gets a heart I think that’s sweet tho as a TH-camr myself ❤
It's a way to show that I read the comment and to give thanks for commenting because it helps the algorithm, plus if someone comments it means they watched at least part of the video, and I appreciate they gave me some of their time. Trust me, there's a lot of comments I do not agree with.
Wasn't Cotton dead at this point in the series?
Not yet
@squirreltactics Ahh, my mistake. I was thinking this was season 12 or 13 (whichever was the last.)
Guessing this was earlier in the show then I remembered.
@@reddeath707 This was the last episode of Season 11
@@squirreltactics Makes sense that I was mistaken. When I rewatch, I usually stop at season 7, and it's been a long time since I even got that far. Thought he passed around that season, not this one.
Also, what a Gribble of an idea for a video.
She looks disgruntled
Wow im early
There were a few more characters I wished that were at Lucky and Luanne's wedding.
Bonnie: " Fun With Jane and Jane "
Carolyn: " The Peggy Horror Picture Show "
Hank's Cousin, Dusty: " Hank Gets Dusted
Dale's Dad, Bug Gribble: " My Own Private Rodeo "
Candee: " Harlottown "
@@ciscojacobo7168 I wish Doc Platter had been there
@@squirreltactics As well as those two guys from the episode " A Rover Runs Through It. " Who are either Peggy's brothers or farm hands.
@@ciscojacobo7168 I think Carolyn, Dusty, and Candee didn't come around until after the wedding episode.
@@Melissa0774 No, I did my research. In their debut episodes, they came before Lucky and Luanne's wedding.
