Even if there is a show or two on the network you like, they air a lot of content and own a lot of media properties. A lot of those properties peddle trash and outright lies that are either never corrected or corrected in small print much later when it doesn't really matter because the outrage is already there. And as a publisher they are responsible for the content they put out. Not just the ones you support, but all the cranks and weirdos too.

The most important thing here is money. Even if the shows take jabs at Fox, they're still making way more for the company than it's losing in PR with one-off remarks (or even whole episodes). Family Guy has made endless amounts for Fox over the course of 19 seasons, they can give the network shit all day (at least up up a certain point) and Fox execs will just laugh their way to the bank.

It makes zero sense to align all of your channels to the same group of like minded people who can only watch one channel at a time. The smart move is to target one group of people with one network, and then use another to target other groups who aren't watching the first one.

Anybody remember this episode? There was one episode of the Simpsons where Kent Brockman lost his job or something and tried interviewing for other networks. When he got to Fox, they showed him all he has to do is whenever a republican candidate is doing bad, Fox News just pushes a button to digitally edit the candidate into Osama bin laden and change the party affiliation displayed to Democrat. I can't find that episode anymore though nor have I been able to find any clips of that scene on TH-cam. I'm pretty sure it was from the Simpsons at least.

Sometimes I wonder if these scenes were written by disgruntled writers at the Fox network.
The most important thing here is money. Even if the shows take jabs at Fox, they're still making way more for the company than it's losing in PR with one-off remarks (or even whole episodes). Family Guy has made endless amounts for Fox over the course of 19 seasons, they can give the network shit all day (at least up up a certain point) and Fox execs will just laugh their way to the bank.

FOX entertainment is managed separately from FOX news and any criticisms of the former should not be applied to the latter and vice versa. Not like anyone cares since its just "Muh neews bias". FOX news has legitimate criticisms and a reasonable argument can be made against it, but FOX entertainment does not go into politics as much, although its shows do. Another notable details to notice, is how even though FOX entertainment is accused of being right wing "propaganda" (a word people keep throwing out without knowing what it actually means), the shows that DO have political satire are typically quite critical of the right and lean somewhat democratic.

Anybody remember this episode? There was one episode of the Simpsons where Kent Brockman lost his job or something and tried interviewing for other networks. When he got to Fox, they showed him all he has to do is whenever a republican candidate is doing bad, Fox News just pushes a button to digitally edit the candidate into Osama bin laden and change the party affiliation displayed to Democrat. I can't find that episode anymore though nor have I been able to find any clips of that scene on TH-cam. I'm pretty sure it was from the Simpsons at least.
