It’s wild to think there was a time, not so long ago, when you could take a stroll through Central Park and casually bump into John Lennon. And at the same time, we tragically haven’t been able to do that for more than 4 decades. A mind game, indeed.
I ran into Yoko about twelve years ago while walking up Fifth Avenue. She was extremely kind and seemed genuinely happy when I'd told her I just had listened to Sisters O Sisters on my headphones less than an hour earlier. John and Yoko were a gift from God. ❤
Even after nearly 44 years, I find it very hard to resist being overcome emotionally. Time has not dulled the pain and the tears over this void. My band and I perform seasonally at the Central Park Band Shell, and seeing this footage multiplies those sentiments. RIP, John.😪
Just 3 days ago, would have been his birthday .. one of the greatest songwriters ever !! People shall be listening to such masterpieces another 25 years from now, too.

its like John is still with us!! ill never get over his death even thought i was born in 1982...i just feel like i knew him....all those kids were so lucky to meet john and get a photo and his autograph....hes been dead longer than he was alive! almost 44 years ago. i simply love his music, his optimism, his ability to not hide behind anything, yes he was a beatle but he moved on and sadly we ultimately know what happened....ugh. senseless RIP John

I was in New York, with a friend, in 1991 and we saw Yoko Ono, but I bet she wouldn't want to be approached. We didn't try.
