Dude! I watched about 20 of these Believe reaction videos last night and here I am again 24 hour later watching yours. BUT - you are the first person to mention what the line the words written in red actually means. Thank you for saying it. i think it is a very important element in this wonderful song.
I was fortunate enough to grow up where neighbors helped each other. Anyway this is a true story of Ronnie Dunn the guy singing he was six years old the last time he saw the old man was when he went off to college. The Lord took him to be with his wife. For the people out there hold on to your memories tight. hold on to the ones you love tighter.
Exactly. Seen a bunch on this song and he’s the first to catch or mention it. Props. And seeing you get up and walk away at the end was awesome. I feel ya on that one!
What a powerful song. I love Jesus and that old man that left a long lasting impact on my life. I was just a teenager when he died. A big part of I am today at 60. Loved your response brother. Thank you.
Beautiful song that truly makes you cry, Ronnie Dunn wrote this song about the old man he knew who he called Mr. Wrigley. Brooks and Dunn are outstanding singers, this was the most beautiful video about what he experienced personally.
Brother, you project such a sweet and honest spirit...it's really such a GREAT thing. Please continuing being you. I firmly believe the quote "when words fail, music speaks". Your reaction is a testament that we need more music than ever right now. Great job!
I was a little girl in the 50s segregated South and one of the people I loved the most was an old black man, Bob Bailey. He had a mule named honey, and they plowed people's gardens every spring and fall. When he came to Grandma's house to plow her garden he would put me up on Honey's back so I could ride her. When I heard his wagon coming down the street I would run to meet him and he let me have the reins. I miss that sweet old man and his sweet, beautiful wife, Caroline, and Honey. ❤
I lv the fact Mr Rigley is a black man and the boy is white .. that’s how it should be in this world !! 🙏❤️this is actually a true story for Ronnie Dunn the singer !! It’s so special to watch you react to this .. his voice is unbelievable.. Jennifer Hudson sang this for Brooks and Dunn’s retirement special !! It was also amazing !!
Exactly and what the greatest part of it all is that it's all possible through Christ. Satan is the one causing the division and hatred...divide and conquer because he knows he will lose in the end. However those of us that can see we know his tricks and love all as our Lord does for all of us!
Absolutely one of my favorite music videos... especially since it's a true story. Moves my heart to see the love between these two persons... one young... one old... one white... one black... My lifelong hopes and prayers for such unity and love.
Loved your reaction. Love this song. This duo won so many CMA awards and Grammy's I lost count. They retired many years ago. Miss them. Miss their music. They both were/are christian men so one day in heaven perhaps they will sing for us!
When my daughter was born, I almost lost both my wife and daughter and the same time... thankfully they're both here with me. And thankful to have them here everyday.
I had a Mr. and Mrs. Watson in my life. They lived next door, mama would send me over with casseroles and cookies, and it would always turn into an adventure, lol. My own grandparents were either dead before I was born or lived far away, I’ll never forget the time, love and attention they gave me. Kids need more than just parents, if you have a scruffy little kid in your life, love them and teach them. It means more than you know.
You get it, Neal. I've watched fifty responses to this mind-boggling masterpiece...and most miss the profoundness that it holds, as to our eternal existence in Christ. Thank you my brother...for getting it. Love your response!
If a song can bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eyes, then the writer and singer have done their job to leave a lasting memory in your soul you will always remember. Great song and video.
It's a true story from his childhood.Mr Ridley was like a grandfather to him,and he like the grandson Mr Ridley never got to have.Love, kindness and a beautiful soul has no color. Its ok,I have watched the video hundreds of times and I still cry every time
Nothing but truth and honesty in the written lyrics and the bluesey/gospel grit in Ronnie Dunns voice....this is a true story from his childhood...it helped shape him as a person and a man...This is in my top 10 all time videos. And don't be afraid of the tears...it shows heart...something real men will always have...!
Son lm older and l have run across your reactions, now some of your followers may not appreciate this, when l have watched you react to brooks and dunn "l believe" and pentatonix Amazing Grace l see and feel God's Spirit fill you to overfill. I sure love it His Word says not to quincy the Holy Spirit, and for you it overflows. I love the fun, smile and laughter you have with alot of the video. You are my favorite so keep that sweet heart son
I really love and appreciate that you heard his voice, the music and the lyrics. Thank you for that! The video is powerful, but it wouldn't be, without the words and love that he felt for this amazing man. Thank you. 🥰
So much more meaningful when you know it was a true story from his childhood!! I pray 🙏 the world will come together in love for all humankind 🙏🙏🙏. Where did we go wrong??
I had an Old Man Rigley when I was a kid....We lived in a tiny town in East Texas...His name was Mr. Lawrence.. He had a small grocery store out in the middle of nowhere...From 12 - 16 when I could ride my bike down I would stop at his store and visit...He would always give me a pop "On the House"....some great memories.. I remember going to his store in the late Spring Early Summer each year and him telling me, Stormy, The Cherry trees are full...Better get out there and help the out....I would eat those cherries right from the tree until I had a real belly ache....Goodness I miss those days. I would love to be that man for some of our youth these days....
Neal, your reaction is the BEST one I have seen. There are several messages in this song of Dunn's true life experience. You touched on them all! Love has no color. Boys need a man in their lives. Cross generation friendships are precious. The letters in red. He led Dunn to the Lord. That he was now with his wife and son in heaven. When someone is gone you both want to cry because your heart is split in two; and you want to laugh at the good memories. Neal, you are awesome!
I’ve watched this video reaction video dozens of times, you are the first to reference the words written in red is Jesus words, my hat is off to you sir
This is a true story for me and I'm 46 now still close with his daughter, what would be his grand kids, his great grands and great great grand kids. Both families are still close to this day. I was the baby of my family with 20+yrs she difference between me and the oldest sibling. Went fishing, hunting together shared food. Between all is kids we took care of each other for years whenever we all had extras each family shared what we had with the other. Color was NEVER an issue between us. Friends that choose to be a family don't make those distinctions.
Another country song that is a true story is STAY by SUGARLAND. Husband cheated, divorced and she sings it from the "other' woman's perspective. POWERFUL VOICE!
It's not about being emotional, it's about music being a part of your soul. Music can actually control your emotions and feelings (emotional and physical). It's a gift from God.
The tiny town(100 population) had lots of great old people that loved to talk. The one this song reminds me most about is Amy. She lived in a house behind the school and when i'd take my dog for a walk, we'd walk over and talk to her. Now when I visit my parents, I walk down the dirt streets that they all are except main street and I walk by their houses and I just can't help but smile at the memories
All I can say is that your reaction to these songs and interpretation gives so much more meaning to the music that you feature the artists need to pay tribute to you. Thanks
What a perfect reaction to this song which heard this year facing losses ..The videoisso moving because of the relationship of the old manand young boy listening to evdry worf the other said. My mom died at age 95 in 2006. I was 55 then, 72 now. I know Mom's belief was strong and true. When I heard this I envisioned how close we were despite our age gap. This recharged the intensity of her faith I'm not as strong at as when she was here on earth, but we certainly connect spiritually! Thank-you ❤️
I am so glad the first time I heard this song, the reviewer didn't keep interrupting it. The song and video blew me away. So powerful. Too many of you keep commenting throughout. It's like watching a movie and you can't get into it because someone keeps talking and interrupting. On the good side, you seem like a genuinely nice person and I wish you success😊
"I don't know how I formed a bond with Mr. Rigley in 2 1/2 minutes." I had to re-play you saying that a couple of times. What a way to articulate the feelings this conjures up. There is also a sense of nostalgia interlaced in the chords. I felt both the loss of Mr. Rigley and a loss for times where these kinds of bonds were formed. As a kid I remember going down the road to this older couples house and they would give us (myself and a friend who also lived in the neighborhood) watermelon as we chatted. I also remember going to my grandfather's place as a kid and visiting his elderly neighbors... sitting on their front porch enjoying the sounds of the waves on Lake Ontarios as we talked. I wonder if kids still do this? As an adult I wonder if I should do this? We can learn so much from their stories.
And that's where the holy Ghost came in and made everybody feel Goosebumps are when your ears ring that's when you know your angels are around you as well
Watching this, I’m thinking how I’m enjoying you very much, but I’m already subscribed to so many reaction channels. . . Cut to the middle and I see that very honest smile of yours, trying to fight tears and I gotta hit subscribe! You have an infectious and beautiful way about you. Keep up the good work, my friend. Looking forward to more.
Good for you. I"ve seen a lot of reactions to this song, and you're the first one to comment on "the words written in red" and what they mean. Love your reaction to this great tune .
Thank you thank you thank you thank you. I have loved this song for so long since it first came out and I've seen a lot of reaction videos to it and everybody talks about the relationship between Mr Ridley and the little boy and you touched on that subject too but then you also mentioned the power in their voice that if they didn't sing it like that if someone else sang it you wouldn't feel it the way you feel it this song reaches to my car makes me raise my hand up in the air and close my eyes and bow my head and just say yes I believe. One of the best one of the greatest songs Brooks & Dunn ever did. And LOL you reacted the way I do the fist clenching and I squinting and all that stuff that's me cuz I feel this song and that raspy growl in his voice just makes the song perfect
O man this song could be played today it’s powerful and has a great message it makes me cry every time it’s true story about him when he was boy and his friendship with this man
Dunn wrote this about his neighbor when he was young. A beautiful song because of the genuine love and experience.
Ronnie Dunn used to be a youth minister
When he was younger. Mister Wrigley
Was a true character in his life!
He didnt know wheather to cry or laugh becaused he believed/ hoped that Mr. Wrigley finaly made it to see his his wife and son.
This is a true story for the singer. His childhood friend.
Thank you for sharing. Didn't know that. Makes the song even that better.
Neal, your reaction was more than I expected. You are such a sweet, kind soul. I'm so glad you liked this song.
If anyone can watch this and not have a tear then they can't be human. I've heard this hundreds of times and still have tears.
Those allergies get me every time, too.
AMEN
You're the first reactor that I've seen mention the words written in red. Everyone else seems to ignore that part.
IKR ? I’m so happy he mentioned that !
Yes….. most reactions I have seen to this song have missed that. Great reaction!
I've seen a bunch of people mention it!
There have been many reactors who talked about the words in red.

You are exactly right. I decided to keep watching reactions to this song until someone mentioned that most poignant line of the song.
@@pennyantewest I did the same and this is the first!!! Bless your heart for catching it.
Exactly. Seen a bunch on this song and he’s the first to catch or mention it. Props. And seeing you get up and walk away at the end was awesome. I feel ya on that one!

Beautiful song that truly makes you cry, Ronnie Dunn wrote this song about the old man he knew who he called Mr. Wrigley. Brooks and Dunn are outstanding singers, this was the most beautiful video about what he experienced personally.

It just hits different when you know it is a true story from Ronnie Dunn's childhood.

One of my all time favorite songs by Brooks & Dunn is "It's Getting Better All The Time"
I’ve watched this video reaction video dozens of times, you are the first to reference the words written in red is Jesus words, my hat is off to you sir
Thats crazy to me man. And thank you!
This is so beautiful.... He is from Louisiana 💜💛.. He is a good person...He has a loving heart

It's not only a great song but perfectly portrayed in the powerful video that punches those emotional triggers all the way.
It's a fact that when your emotional I am too but it means that you're connected with the spirit
Another country song that is a true story is STAY by SUGARLAND. Husband cheated, divorced and she sings it from the "other' woman's perspective. POWERFUL VOICE!
That one should be on my country reactions playlist
no, Stay is not a true story....SMH. Where on earth did you hear that?

Raise no hands in worship and let his blessings fall down and make our cup runneth over
Definitely a gospel song so beautiful and emotional. Love, love, love
Your reaction to this video was wonderful.
The song is a powerhouse emotionally
Nothing wrong with feeling the emotion that music delivers
Neal you are such a beautiful soul and you really get it!!
Exactly. All about love, From heaven and earth
You are one of the few reactions that got what this song is actually about!
I am so glad the first time I heard this song, the reviewer didn't keep interrupting it. The song and video blew me away. So powerful. Too many of you keep commenting throughout. I have watched 100s of reactions on this video and you are the only person that got what he said about the words written in red. Props to you
BEST reaction to this yet and I've watched them all.
This was my husband's favorite song. We played it at his memorial service.
Tears.....but man your smile is everything! I love this song and you are one of the few that “get” the words written in red. Loved your reaction.
One of the best Duos. Love Brooks and Dunn
"I don't know how I formed a bond with Mr. Rigley in 2 1/2 minutes."

Ronnie Dunn was a preacher at one time...he knows how to sing ya HOME :) Great reaction
We are all family, love your reaction to this beautiful heart warming video.
And that's where the holy Ghost came in and made everybody feel Goosebumps are when your ears ring that's when you know your angels are around you as well
You should check out "In Color" by Jamey Johnson; Voices, by Chris Young; and Love, Me by Colin Raye.
All of this, too. Yes!
In Color, yes!
I cry every time I hear this song.
IMO, this man has one of the best voices alive and hands down By Far of any country singer.
Your reaction to Brooks and down to believe it really brings out the emotion in me more than any other that I've ever seen keep it up
Neal I know you felt it and so did I. Everybody love one another.
Amen...it’s a true story. He taught him about.....faith.
My allergies act up too... Everytime I hear this song... bless your heart ❤️...
I cry every time I listen to this.
I believe!! Nuff said!
Wonderful reaction! God bless you! Your reaction is the only one that has made me cry. Thank you for being genuine.

Looking forward to more.
Thank you for reacting to this song. I told you that you would love it.
You are spot on; the stories we tell to our youth shape their way. Amen.
Good for you. I"ve seen a lot of reactions to this song, and you're the first one to comment on "the words written in red" and what they mean. Love your reaction to this great tune
.
True story. Kix Brooks wrote this song about his childhool rolemodel. He made this song into a gospel because ”Mr. Wrigley” loved gospel.
Absolutely love your reaction to this beautiful story told in a beautiful song by an amazing voice.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you. And LOL you reacted the way I do the fist clenching and I squinting and all that stuff that's me cuz I feel this song and that raspy growl in his voice just makes the song perfect
Yes, this song and video are beautiful. That voice is Ronnie Dunn
what a sad and great story, let's all remember how to love each other
Love this reaction!!!! God bless you Sir!!! God is good....all the time!! 💜🙏
O man this song could be played today it’s powerful and has a great message it makes me cry every time it’s true story about him when he was boy and his friendship with this man
Ronnie Dunn is an extraordinary vocalist! Powerful song.
Really love your beautiful reaction to this song!
You're the best reactor on you tube..period. I love how into it you get and that you mentioned the "words in red".
That's right love your neighbor as you love yourself at least those that will allow you to be a neighbor to them
Brother, makes my heart happy how much truth you see
Dude you brought a lot of light to this video of this song then I can never imagine all the times I've looked at it thank you
Love your reaction
You are adorable! Such a good person! Love your reactions. 🥰
Loved your reaction. When a song stirs you to years, it has done it's job. This song challenges all of us to mentor the younger and be there for them.
