Awesome! I have never done a full wrap so I can’t say for sure. I don’t think fibers are capable of full wraps in general unless you’re talking about a fairly short cup. The stock lens is 200mm on the GI60 so the max working area is 7.9”x7.9”. Wrapping would be no problem because the tumbler turns on the rotary but the other direction will be limited by the lens size. These principles would be true of any fiber laser and lens combo, not just specific to the Monport.
I have the same laser. I had some issues in the beginning with it. A bent rod and the head was not level. Too bad Monport has horrible customer support. It took months to resolve the issues with them. If you're new to fiber lasers, run from this company. Once you get over the hump of them being a horrible company, the laser itself seems to be pretty good.
Agreed their customer service needs a lot of help. They tell me they are working on it so that's encouraging. I'm glad they were able to fix your issue but it's not right that it took that long. Maybe I'm lucky but I haven't had any issues with any of my Monport machines. Thanks for checking out the video and have a great day!
Very informational! Thank you for sharing.
We just purchased that style of rotary for our Monport fiber.
My pleasure!
I have the same laser. Looking into getting the rotary attachment, but i was curious if you have done a full wrap engrave on a tumbler? Is it capable?
