Hi guys, I am also from Brazil, but my family and I immigrated to Canada and became citizens almost 10 years ago. My husband retired in April and I am retiring on Oct 18th (very close). We also bought a condo in Brazil at Cabedelo and will be coming over on Nov 30th. We have the same plans to travel the world and have Intermares as our base! Hopefully we can meet both of you in person haha - I have been living my dream through you both and I am so excited that my "D" date is finally close. Thank you for your great videos!
Oct 18th, we will be here before you know it! Congratulations! Cabadwlo is right next to us, very close! We would love to meet you guys, but when you arrive this time around, we will already have moved on to our next spot, but we will be bavk here in a year or so! There is a Facebook page for expats in Joao Pessoa if you're interested!
Congrats on coming in under budget. I've enjoyed your videos from day 1. As a fellow Canadian who is near retirement it was very inspirational to see your journey. In an earlier video you had mentioned you met with a fee for service financial planner to discuss your retirement plan. May I asked who you used and whether or not you felt is was worth it?
Hi Nick! Congratulations on being close to retirement 🤗 We are very happy that we met with a few fee only planners. They gave us peace of mind and a plan on how to draw down our money in retirement in the most tax efficient way! If you would.lime, send us an email at firewego@gmail.com, and we can pass along the names of the ones we used!
Are you feeling any let down after your adventure to Europe with the cruise and Camino Santiago walk? Or are you spending your time planning the next travel adventure?
We are actually watching a Camino.video right now, and we're saying how we wanted to do another one! We are doing great, we are really enjoying the planning for the next year or so...and maybe they will include another Camino!
Great video guys, wondering if one needs to speak portugese in order to live there? Or are there many english speaking people/businesses? Also, do you guys share exactly which stocks you have and how much in order to get the dividends to live off of? I know you used to in older videos.
In our city of Joao Pessoa, English is not widely spoken, but people are very friendly and helpful! The foreigner community is also growing here, so we have actually met others from Canada, US, and Europe here! As for the dividends, we do still share those. However, they are over under our membership area now.
I (Kristine) am trying to learn Portuguese, which is a lot of fun! We met a few people while we were out shopping (they heard us speaking English!), and there is also an expat Facebook group for the city!

Are you planning on doing an update on your dividend portfolio?
We actually do all the monthly updates on our membership side now!
Hi guys! I’m enjoying your videos. One comment, though. It seems like you have your mics reversed. Or maybe it’s me. Just thought I’d let you know.
Thank you for the heads up! We will look into this 😊

@@FIREWeGo ok great, thanks for the response
How do you meet people / get a set of friend there? Is language an issue?
