This video is very good. Amazingly accurate considering you're not from here (?). I am a football coach and I work in Serbia in the same tier as OFK Beograd. I would just add a few more things that are contributing to the fact serbian football is disappearing as a whole:
    1. People who run the clubs (boards) are in 98% of the cases people who are not "from football" - they come from other businesses and they make all the important decisions while having NO knowledge of how football works.
Also, the boards are in 90% of cases in the governening dictatorship party SNS and are licking asses in order to stay on their positions.
    2. Coaching education is abysmal. Licensing courses are being conducted by failed coaches who have no job so they try to force themselves into FSS (Serbian Football Association) in order to make some money.
As a product you have terrible youth coaching, where less than 5% of coaches in our country work with kids the way they should.
    3. FSS (Serbian Football Association) is run by a man that is on that position only because he is a close friend of serbian "president" Aleksandar Vučić and he owes him a favour. FSS president has no clue about football. Also, he is crooked. Almost 60-70% of matches in top3 tiers are fixed or at least the ref doesn't whistle 50-50. Fixing matches is probably the biggest problem.
    4. Kids are spoiled. Never taught how to think and how to absorb informations. Never have their own opinions and then they become "slaves" rather than strong characters.
Cheers, and thanks for a video that treats this topic. We are dying to be heard in the world about our serious problems!

@@Micfri300 They aren't. I've trained football for a long time here, it's all just talent. This country is filled with talent, but little work ethic, which is understandable given the conditions they are in. The only reason we have so many great players in so many sports (football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and so on) is just talent combined with the fact that playing sports here is pretty much a part of every day life (you'll find that even the nerdiest kids know how to play at least 1 sport fairly well).

    • @comfee
      @comfee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Most of bosnian quality footballers are diaspora players. We're miles behind the likes of HNL and Superliga. This is why you'd often hear here that Dzeko could've been a world beater had he been developed in a good academy with solid facilities and not in war torn Sarajevo. Furthermore, our best young prospects are handed out to 2nd division turkish and greek leagues where they fade away into irrelevancy and just play "for wages" for a safe retirement. Future isn't looking great either, with our league coefficients dropping rapidly, which isn't a surprise since we never had a team in european elite competitions (UCL, EL).
Overall, this is why we mostly fear for the future of our NT and hope that our prospects keep getting scouted by Dinamo Zagred (Amer Gojak being one) and hope that promising players like Omeragić and Gigović don't become the next Zlatan.

I don't understand why there are so many illustrations in the Russian language. And why Kosovo is shown as an independent country, while Montenegro is not?!
When it comes to OFK Beograd, the situation is rather depressing. It is the oldest and most beloved football club in Belgrade, by neutrals at least. Unfortunately, a few days ago, the legendary Petkovic died (not from COVID 19 though) and it seems as this legendary club is dying at the same time.
It should be mentioned that while the club was living it's best years in the latest period, the president was a person accused of various frauds and crimes, being on the Interpol warrant list. The same person, Zvezdan Terzić, is the current president of Red Star Belgrade.
Needless to say, politics and crime have a huge part in Serbian football (and sports in general), and nothing seems to be even close to change while the people in charge take the profit from it.

I would guess that it's to do with them being primary colours that contrast well (better than say red v yellow or blue v yellow) and being easy to find in nature (and therefore to make dyes with).
The red v blue contrast isn't just limited to sport. It's in everything, from political parties to poetry (roses are red, violets are blue...). So it might also relate to how our monkey brains just perceive red and blue to be opposites. Red = hot, fire, anger; Blue = cold, water, calm.

They were not “born”, they are bankrolled by Viktor Orban and the Hungarian gov’t as a community engagement tool to appease the ethnic Hungarians in the Vojvodina region. A modern day revival with political undertones has seen TSC thrive, and i disagree with the above statement by Cofi; they’re doing very well in season 2 at the top, he must be a Partizan fan! :)

@@ilijatrojanovic8619 I'mSerb but i'm finr with Hungarian gov investing in Hungarian community in Serbia, they built great football academy and their new stadium is under construction. I just don't like some nationalistic banners and chants coming from TSC fans, it doesn't represent Hungarians in Vojvodina province in good picture since most of Hungarians are real patriots both for Serbia as their homeland and Hungary for ethnic reason and they don't care about such political bullshit and don't want any divide.

While many would see football as just a game it has evolved into a massive industry and like most, is severely affected by this pandemic and can have disastrous effects for many.

You did your homework well. In recent years there is a trend of big local clubs disappearing. For example, in my hometown (Čačak) there was a club, founded in 1926 called Borac. They were a top tier club, and even famously played against Ajax in the Europa League qualifying round, some 15 years ago. Because of their large debt, the club was dismantled a few years ago. Main sponsor said that the citiy officials are too corrupted, taking advantage of the club, and laundering money, and this was the reason they pulled out, and it was a big car company (Škoda). So, after the club was gone for good, they bought a local 4th tier club, and changed its name to Borac 1926, and now are making their way back to the top tier. Something like Parma did, maybe, only Parma's former players didn't go on a hunger strike in front of the city council because they were never payed, and have no legal basis to have their money, because the club that they played for simply doesn't exist on paper anymore. And UEFA's hands are tied. And the mayor won't even see them. And we can't oust the mayor, because elections are brutally fixed in Serbia. Hard times...

2001 FIFA POTY Luis Figo vs 2001 Ballon d'Or - Micheal Owen
2003 FIFA POTY Zidane vs 2003 Ballon d'Or - Pavel Nedved
2004 FIFA POTY Ronaldinho vs Ballon d'Or Shevchenko
Clearly, just off these examples alone, it's easy to see that the FIFA POTY is more credible and reliable in terms of picking the best player so why do some many people still hold the Ballon d'Or to a higher standard?
