Serbia does not have bad luck nor a lack of quality. It’s the constant decline of a society which has already set the bar too high by (unironically) expecting them to win the World Cup. There’s a massive lack of mentality and discipline like in all other Balkan nations (except for the Croatian team) and it comes as no surprise that a team that looks as incredibly well as the Serbian one to have failed this badly
I dont think it's a lack of quality, cuz they have produced a lot of talented players. Germany for example (putting aside these last two WCs where they have played bad) tend to be the oppositr, regardless hof the quality of their individual players (which most of the times is good anyways), they play as one cohesive unit. Serbia has the same issue as a lot of African teams. Quality players in specific areas but a terrible goalkeeper and too many squad menbers who are at a very low level.

Amazing video, would love to see more of these history-based videos on different nations. Maybe do one on Croatia, especially interesting because they are like the opposite of Serbia in terms of success but share a similar history before the Yugoslavia break-up.
Thank god we qualified for the Euros. I wouldve genuinely jumped outta my window if we lost to Bulgaria and Montenegro won. Thank god that didnt happen
Yeah, this Serbian generation was great on paper. But they didn't have any that good coach in my opinion. So this can be one of the reasons why this generation failed. But still making it to World Cups is an achievement.
I think we always had unbalanced team...team with Radomir Antic, beast defensivley on paper but no capable goal scorer in attack, Antic was best coach we ever had, one of biggest mistakes ever was firing him...this world cup, again same story unbalanced team, big hype, average coach, great attack (Mitrovic, Vlahovic, Tosic...), but horrible defence made of average players, team without true leader...I really dont know from were is such big hype starting, we are average team at best.
Ill be honest, I don't watch your channel too much, so when I (as a proud serb) saw a video pop up in my recommended about Serbia's "legacy of failure", made by a croat, I was quite pissed. Well it depends how you see the situation ,YES, Serbia is not a global force, nor a European one ,but I think only Hungary is better from Eastern Europe. than Serbia.
I would say that big diffrence betwen Croatia and Serbia in football is also that Croatia have Dinamo Zagreb which is one of bigest clubs of Europe in meaning of producting young talents into world class players like: Modric,Kovacic,Brozovic, Gvardiol,Lovren,Livakovic,Eduardo,Majer.. They don't have that in Crvena Zvezda and Partizan...
@Skawei No they don't buddy, they have a european cup title. And also, that tournament had 16 teams only. And also, Dinamo has played much much more European football, than all the clubs in Serbia combined, with both shit results and amazing results. Dinamo also has a euro title from 67'. Noone has UCL.

@@Xof_D-Dawg_Fox haha you sound like you have insecurity over this topic. So I will clarify for you. It was the most prestigious title for a football club at the time. and at that time it was red star belgrade that earned the title of being the best in the world. Not Real Madrid, not Milan, not Bayern, and certainly not Dinamo. And As I stated, dinamo was good in Yugoslavia, but never reached the amount of titles that Zvezda did. What happened after that in the next 35 years? Nothing, for both countries. Croatia is playing much more european football. So some will say, I'd trade that title for all these years of no european football, but some will say I'd trade that title just to watch the team play all this time! 50/50 benefits, both good. Would you want you team to be in european football almost every year? And doesn't that take big effort? Same as winning it once? It's both big effort. Serbia cannot handle pressure .. in qatar swiss knew all they had to do is start a little drama with xaka or shequiri serbia would lose their mind and lose focus lol
The problem with Serbia is that they dont have a team. They have talents, but they dont play as a whole team. Also, the pressure of major tournaments eats them . We saw that in the World Cup, but also in this year’s Euros. And when you have so many talents there, it’s not impossible to have internal conflicts between players that create a toxic environment in the squad. This is something serious.
I'm afraid it may be the same thing at EURO 2024. Playing England first in the group won't help matters. Denmark and Slovenia are also tricky matches. I wish them all the best this time around and tnx maqwell for the detailed and comprehensive analyses.
What ive seen is Serbian players playing like they are physically possesed when playing for their European clubs then when playing for their country they play with no heart or passion And who can forget the Vidic intentional handball vs Germany in 2010 they are full off it I feel sorry for the supporters who pay good money too travel too watch them
I haven't watched the video yet but I'm gonna say it I'm from Serbia and half of our team was injured but I think the main problem was our defence I'm still so disappointed how we did in the world cup:(
Serbia are the biggest chokers in world football. All the talent in the world but can't handle the pressure like Croatia can. They always do so well in qualifiers but they crumble every time

As a Bosnian, making a video on our failures of qualifying would be nice too, 2014 I feel like we were screwed over in that game against Nigeria and we didn’t do too bad against Argentina, but we had many chances to qualify for euros like in euro 2020 when we lost on penalties to Northern Ireland, or in the Euro 2012 qualifiers where nearly beat France to top the group similar to how Serbia did, but yeah I hope a bunch of the ex Yugoslavia nations qualify for the next Euros, that would be a history in the making
Let's be real during the days of the former Yugoslavia, it was 🇭🇷 players that carried that team. If you notice, 🇭🇷 is the most successful sporting nation of all the former Yugoslav nations!!
@ESI - GAMING Yeah, the 🇵🇱 teams of the 70s and early 80s, the USSR team of Euro '88, and the 🇧🇬 and 🇷🇴 teams of the '94 WC. I remember seeing that 🇧🇬 🇩🇪 game, and wow, that 🇧🇬 team was 🔥!! Unfortunately Eastern Europe today don't have the financial resources compared to their Western European counterparts. Very sad yo

Only if Serbs and the rest would leave for Croatians to lead everything. It's no coincidence Croatia alone is by far more successful than rest of the neighbors together.
Most money is in football so there's lots of corruption in our country. We are good in other sports because there's not much money in those,so people do it because they love it. In our football,we also have few egotistical narcissist players, who think they are above everyone else , and they bring a lot of unrest. Bit of this, bit of that and it adds up. Our football representation is everything but a team.
As a Frenchman, I really like Serbia. But I must admit that the Serbs' mentality is sometimes faltering, especially when they lose control of the match. They start to get angry and do stupid things. Quite the opposite of Croatia, which, even when dominated, manages not to succumb. This also explains why Croatians perform well in international tournaments.
Sergej Milinkovic Savic is a player who is very inconsistent for the National team and Muslin had every right not to select him. But as usual the loud Serbian ultras who don't know what they are thinking get in the way and Muslin is fired. We would be so much better right now if we had kept Muslin because whatever he was doing was working. Krstajic was not good enough of a successor on such short notice and after that Tumbakovic was too old and even now Piksi is clearly cut out for club management not national team management. Muslin was probably our best coach post Antic and we get rid of him for what? Not letting an inconsistent player who doesn't try for Serbia not play? Wow this is why Serbia won't do anything for a long time Edit @HRVizak how come you didn't mention the robbery when Brych refused to check VAR for a clear foul on Mitrovic, should Serbia have scored that penalty Serbia would have advanced to the RO16 based off other results.
To be fair, UEFA decided to remove two games between Armenia and Azerbaijan because Nagorno-Karabakh was an indisputed country for Armenia and Azerbaijan, which was left unoccupied after the civil war. Since then, they weren't being placed on the same groups for the subsequent major tournaments. The same prohibitions applies for Russia with Ukraine, though this was not happened since the great war happened the last year, and Serbia with Kosovo and Bosnia.
Hi HRVizak, will you be covering the women's world cup? It's a very exciting tournament given it'll be the first to have 32 teams and the Euros last year were very entertaining. Love your channel and if you don't it's cool but I think it could make for some interesting videos.
I was joking about how the last time they scored more than twice in a world cup finals was still known as FR Yugoslavia in 1998 before World cup 2022 started. At least they managed more than that this time but their defence got exposed quite badly.
Not gonna lie, Mitrovic misses a lot of pens. He isn’t that reliable from the spot. In the prem he has missed some crucial penalties late in the game and he has missed some for Serbia as well. Not to take anything away from him, he is a phenomenal player, but maybe someone like Tadic or Milinkovic Savic should take the penalties
Reason for failure is known. Politics, Managers, and their list of players that doesnt have future in their clubs, and then must be in the national team, so the club can send them. Sorry, but it is Serbia.
Yeah, it's true, our football sucks. We get better results in basketball, water polo, tennis and volleyball. I actually stopped watching our football, there is no point, we're gonna lose anyway.

Yeah, this Serbian generation was great on paper. But they didn't have any that good coach in my opinion. So this can be one of the reasons why this generation failed. But still making it to World Cups is an achievement.
Well half of our team was injured and we played with our B team but I think the main problem was our defense
Yeah, the Coach is bad, all players are playing with passion and love, but the Coach doesn't know what he's doing
I almost thought this was a Maqwell video 🙃
Well I gotta admit that judge decision to not even regulate a goal in Portugal vs Serbia was surprising considering how much obvious goal was,but then again if we look entire qualifications and wc 2022 we can say that it was meant to be that way with seeing suspicious decisions from the judges
As a Serbian I totally agree, I really don’t know why football is the only ball sport we aren’t successful
Well it depends how you see the situation ,YES, Serbia is not a global force, nor a European one ,but I think only Hungary is better from Eastern Europe. than Serbia.
I would say that big diffrence betwen Croatia and Serbia in football is also that Croatia have Dinamo Zagreb which is one of bigest clubs of Europe in meaning of producting young talents into world class players like:
Modric,Kovacic,Brozovic, Gvardiol,Lovren,Livakovic,Eduardo,Majer..
@@Xof_D-Dawg_Fox Dinamo fans would give their left nut to able to say that their team was once the best in the world... also red star was much more successful in Yugoslavia.

Trust me, no one misses anything. That's something you would say just to find comfort ☮️
As the saying goes, neko nekad, neko nikad 😊
@@savicserb31 Great achievement, no one is taking that away from you. Just the guy up wrote they won UCL and they didn't.
I personally love those stories, and if red star went to final again now, I'd cheer for them, always for the underdogs!
But to spin that untill today is living on old fame.
My dad would care about a european cup title, half of us wouldn't care. We want it now when it's hard and biggest ever!
But fuck the war axes! It's not a race, I hope we all make it there. War or no war, I'd cheer for my neighbours any day before I would for any of the big clubs!
Kosovo was not part of Yugoslavia, it was even then part of Serbia.
The whole 2022 World Cup people were saying that Croatia would be crap and go out in the groups and Serbia would be dark horses.
That’s because they had a very disappointing euros
Serbia cannot handle pressure .. in qatar swiss knew all they had to do is start a little drama with xaka or shequiri serbia would lose their mind and lose focus lol
Good video
The problem with Serbia is that they dont have a team. They have talents, but they dont play as a whole team. Also, the pressure of major tournaments eats them . We saw that in the World Cup, but also in this year’s Euros.
And when you have so many talents there, it’s not impossible to have internal conflicts between players that create a toxic environment in the squad. This is something serious.
Interesting to relive this. I also noticed the Mario Strikers Charged Football music
I'm afraid it may be the same thing at EURO 2024. Playing England first in the group won't help matters. Denmark and Slovenia are also tricky matches. I wish them all the best this time around and tnx maqwell for the detailed and comprehensive analyses.
What ive seen is Serbian players playing like they are physically possesed when playing for their European clubs then when playing for their country they play with no heart or passion And who can forget the Vidic intentional handball vs Germany in 2010 they are full off it

❌ Qualify for the completion
✅ Insult Albania
One "small" detail you missed was that the Serbian FA before the game had banned any albanians from attending barring VIP guests and journalists and they had also banned any albanian flag, shirt or any sort of merchandising from entering in the stadium. The Serbian fans were chanting racists chants agaisnt Kosova, Albania and their people and also burning our respective flags and that of NATO. They called for the slaughter of Albanians amongst other heinous things and our anthem was booed to oblivion. This is why we were awarded the win amongst other reasons and this is why a fan decided to fly a drone in. It's incredibly unfair to play in such conditions and to allow the disrespect to our nation as if it isn't actively happening. Either play on neutral turf with no fans or allow both teams to have their supporters there. Simple. In the return game Serbian fans and symbolism were allowed and none faced any issues with Albanians in the stadium or city. Good times nonetheless thankfully no one was seriously hurt barring some serb feelings :p

Croatia 100% european team.France 90% african team
UrinatingTree is the one who came up with the video concept
Wow this is why Serbia won't do anything for a long time
Edit @HRVizak how come you didn't mention the robbery when Brych refused to check VAR for a clear foul on Mitrovic, should Serbia have scored that penalty Serbia would have advanced to the RO16 based off other results.
4:04 hold on a second, Armenia and Azerbaijan in the same group? That's illegal
