You are correct "today as usual" working on these cars..No sh!t I feel your pain because everything that is wrong with yours has happened to my 92 500sl over the last 20 years and a sh!t load more. Yes, on mine the ground broke too..design flaw which there are a lot.... but I was able to get the assembly out of the 3rd B light with out taking the lens out and I just put a ground at the assembly and it worked w/o taking/cutting the wire loom. I am impressed that you have no for knowledge of these cars and you tackle some pretty tough issues. You should have drained the gas, put some chevron w/techron and put plugs, caps, and rotors on day 1. The wire looms on these cars... your year... are sh!t and need to be replaced. Electrical problems are the worst...I have had Light module N-7 go bad, instrument cluster capacitors go bad, ASR module go bad, on and on and on and a fricken ton of $ I have dumped in mine....money pit! More r129 videos please I have watched all of yours and really enjoyed them ...must be the dry humor ?
Thank you for the video. I followed your steps and found the damaged wire. I bought a new third brake light and fixed the wire and now it works great!

If you remove the latch it is easier to put it in.
That's so funny you have an R129 and a 04-06 LS430 in the background. I have the same setup, Lexus is the daily and R129 in garage lol
