Aiming for a high hourly rate is always a good thing. If you can make $50 instead of $25 that's great. If you can make $75 instead of $50, you should go for it.
'
But you're still very limited on the amount of money you can make. For one, you can only charge so much where you'll neglect 80% of your market. Which is fine if that's exactly what you're going for and you what to be the super specialized person in town.
Second, the more you charge and the more specialized you get, the harder it's going to be for you to detach from your business. 3 to 5 to 10 years down the line, are you still going to want to be the person washing the car, prepping the car, and doing all the work to do?
Or would you rather set your business up where eventually you can train a few employees to carry out the business while you start running the business?
That's the whole point of this video. You need to think BIG PICTURE in how you want to setup your business. Yes, hourly rates are nice to go for. But eventually, as the business owner, you'd want to make money regardless if you're doing the work or not.

Thanks for the information!
Woo- thanks for the encouraging words. Glad it's helping out!
It's so ironic you made this video. Just the other day a buddy of mine mentioned that I should think about a 5 year plan and move towards having people working for me, haha. This type of thinking may help guide the detailing business in a different direction. Great video!
hahaa what are the odds of that happening. Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
