Clapton wrote this song for Pattie Boyd, just as Layla, Bell Bottom Blues, Wonderful Tonight and many others. YOU MUST LISTEN TO ANOTHER 2 VERSIONS OF THIS SONG (Clapton in one of his peaks): - Old Love MTV Unplugged - Old Love at Mountain View 1992
I was lucky to see Robert Cray open for Clapton on his world tour. Cray came out with Clapton for the song "Crossroads" and traded solos for many minutes closing out a great night. Sadly these two are no longer talking after Robert took offense at comments Clapton made during the covid pandemic.
This was a treasure of a show. David Sanborn is a very successful, popular horn player and that 'House' band is crackin. SRV did "Crossfire" on here and that is a smoking video. The bass, percussion, & rhythm guitar ((Hiram Bullock-RIP) are wonderful.
I have listened to this song so many times over the years. Most of us have that one Old Love that stays with us. Robert Cray is an amazing musician. Really everyone on this song is great. Great choice! Why is Eric Clapton dressed like the Joker though. 😊
speechless
No one plays like that these days
Classic GOLD!!!!
2 masters on one stage POWERFUL 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

The version of this from his Unplugged concert is next level.

Outstanding! This is my first listen too! I think I was Hard Rocking' back then:)
Benchmark album , Studio album...of Eric Clapton s career...and that's saying something!
Try Eric & Doyle Bramhall onstage at Eric's Crossroads Caribbean guitar fest doing "Sunshine of Your Love".
Just sublime Rick n roll.
