@@montylc2001Just on this track. He also did harmony vocals. 🙂
Phil also worked with Eric on the two albums before this one, August and Behind The Sun.

How do you make a guitar sound like that? Put it in Eric Clapton’s hands 😄 Yes there are many pedals that make many different sounds.

As always loved the reaction! But his live performances are SO MUCH BETTER
    Here are some recommendations:
    - Double Trouble Live 1978 (MY ALL TIME FAV)
    - Cream live 1968 (NSU, Spoonful, Im so glad, crossroads, white room, sunshine of your love)
    - Cream live 2005 (Stormy monday, we re going wrong, toad and other suggestions above)
    - Every song from “Nothing but the Blues” (probably his peak as a guitarist)
    - While my Guitar Gently Weeps at Concert for George
    - Derek and the Dominos live at Fillmore (Let it rain or Why does love got to be so sad mainly)
    - I shot the sherriff at Crossroads 2004 and at MSG 2004
    - Edge of Darkness at 24 nights
    - Thrill is Gone with BB King in 1985 or at White House
Old Love (24 nights, 1999 at MSG, w/ Robert Cray and Unppluged).

Saw this tour in Cincy at Riverbend third row dead center. Me and my two friends were fifteen years younger and fifteen beers drunker than anyone in the first fifteen rows. Every time his eyes passed us, a big smile would appear (we were the only ones standing , singing and rocking out in those first fifteen rows) on his face. I like to think , even as fools, we gave him just a bit of enjoyment for the bunch of it he gave us that night. Incredible concert!

I suggest you react to these three songs from his " Clapton Unplugged" album. "Layla, Lonely Stranger, and Old Love". These songs reveal what a true master of the guitar E.C. was and his vocals were in rare form and among the best of his career in my opinion. And for an extra treat his emotional rendition of "Tears in Heavan" is one of the greatest songs of his career, a tribute to his late son.

At the begining he uses a " Cry Baby Pedal " to give it that sound . And during the solo . Hendrix used a similar pedal , but the pedal that Hendrix used was a "' VOX Wah - Wah Pedal ". If you see Hendrix live at Maui or Woodstock you'll see him rock a pedal up & down .🎸🤙

Just to get some info out. Other rockers in the 60s called Eric "God" and he agreed that he was God. But when I saw him in 2018 he mentioned of his warm up bands that he couldn't go on without them. I forget their names, a (please excuse me) black rocker and another rocker who may have been the brother of another rocker who passed away. I saw him at MSG.

Eric is one of the best blues musicians on the planet The album this song he is singing is one the best blues albums that I have You should react to him playing the song It Hurts Me To This man was born to play the blues Paul Rogers the lead singer for Bad Company and he made a tribute album to Muddy Waters in 1993 and it is one of the best blues albums that I own The only song on the album that is not Muddy Waters
The song Paul wrote himself called Muddy Water Blues But all the rest of the songs were written by Muddy Waters This is another great blues album

  • @mgw4205
    @mgw4205 ปีที่แล้ว

Haha, Clapton is using distortion, chorus, reverb, a little delay and a wah wah pedal. A wah wah pedal is what’s giving its most notable sound. He’s plugged into one but he’s not rocking the pedal back and forth. The rest is him bending strings and running through the pentatonic scale. He’s a master of putting riffs down in a song.

Part of that guitar part was played with a wah and chorus pedal.
To me the lead solo sounded like a fuzz pedal or just a lot of overdrive. Possibly both.

EC uses a wah pedal for the intro and like parts and he also overdrives the amp a tad. On the clean parts it sounds like he straight clean, playing through the neck pickup or the 4 position between the neck and the center pickup.

You want some Clapton R&B , check out Change The World. You want some incredible ballads .. check Holy Mother, Running On Faith and River Of Tears. All of these are incredible. Most people are gonna recommend the played out commercial songs, because they don’t know all the music , they only know the popular stuff. The most popular is not necessarily the best.
