    Your cable can have a big impact on speed as well. I suggest using the cables that come with the SSD. Those will probably be good. If you use other ones be aware that your transfer speeds can be much slower. If you want other cables, buy in Amazon and read the reviews to try an idea of the speed. Then test the cable with a large file transfer. Even the same cables from a brand with a different length can have different transfer speeds.

    I bought this SSD to store all my PS4 games, rather than taking up space on my internal PS5 SSD. This drive works flawlessly. The speeds are stupid fast and the SSD is super compact. Well worth the purchase.

    To get even close to the advertised speed you need PCIe NVMe internal ssd on your device PLUS Usb 3 gen 2 to get the gigabyte speeds. Samsung revealed their device used to get the speeds

    Hi quick question. I am planning to buy one for my M1 ipad pro. It is very confusing after seeing reviews after reviews. This ipad has a thunderbolt port but it supports only USB 3.2 gen2 (usb 3.1 gen2). Some reviewers say that we need to use a thunderbolt cable with this drive to get the full speed. I am seeing you use the normal usb-c cable. Which is the right way?

    One question that always made me curious about those SSD External drives : Do they have the same Magnetic Data degradation corruption that USB Sticks\SD cards have ? When you don't plug a USB stick\SD card to a PC(or other device) for 2 or 3 years , it looses it captured charge and your data is corrupted.

I have watched all your videos (and others) but nothing improves the speed, reliability or usability. What are my options? I would think that a hard drive hub, in which I can use the WD red drives, would be a good solution? Any thoughts will be much appreciated. • @nowa4045
      @nowa4045 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was too, but the only reason to get the non-touch T7 is for the enhanced read/write speeds that is only really beneficial to computers that have USB 3.2 Gen 2. Idk what kind of computer you use but all MacBooks past 2016 I believe have 3.2 Gen 2 meaning you will see almost the doubled speeds from the T5.

    • @MrPhilbautista
      @MrPhilbautista 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      USB is backward compatible. The only reason to stick with T5 is if your computer doesn't have the new USB-C 3.1 Gen2 to take advantage of the speed of the T7 but that is only useful if the T5 is cheaper. In my case, the T7 I bought was actually cheaper than the T5 so I just went with the T7. Another reason to go with the T5 over the T7 is if you plan to pimp your drive. Since the T5 has been around longer and was quite popular, there have been quite a number of accessories for it, like cases and mounts. If you plan on getting some, you'll have a wider selection if you go with the T5.
