Great testing, R&R. It would be interesting to see what can be done with the detector or the swing technique to ferret out the desirable target from the iron (if possible). Things like settings, lifting the coil when swinging, setting a low notch, coil sizes, etc. Anything to help with separating the good targets from the iron. I've used plastic bottle caps buried flush with the top of the soil to mark targets in the test garden. Then I can use the targets year after year to see how or if the detectors abilities change.
That seems to be in pitch mode too which alerts on anything large. Iron on not. Switch to a tonal option and they may or may disappear completely for tone hunters who don't look at their screen.
@MrBottlecapBill yes, pitch tone has less audio discrimination IMO compared to full tones. Full tones still hears that bog iron but has more buzz to the audio.

Do you use 9inch alot ?
