Actually, the Mohole should be the most resource abundant spots in the system... Not only for scientific reasons, but for gameplay. Gives you a reason to go down there.
I can think of more than a few reasons to want to go "down there" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Space battleships! Come on!
Level 1- Make a space battleship that can achieve orbit.
Level 2- Make an SSTO space battleship.
Level 3- Make an interplanetary space battleship.
Level 4- Make an interplanetary SSTO space battleship.
Level 5- Do everything in Level 4, but blow up some space pirates.
RULES
It has to be at least 40m long.
It must have a kerbal capacity of at least 10.
I bet you can't do it ;)

its simple, all you have to do is build a big ass plane preferably with the Nerv rocket engines for good fuel consumption, install BD Armoury and add a bunch of weapons to it, it's not that hard

You need to IMMEDIATELY STOP using FRAPS.
Start using OBS. You can configure it to record frames at a higher quality depending on what's on the screen.
for some reason, obs is fucking ugly even on the best settings its just ugly on my screen

How about a Gilly colony.
But it would be an industrial scale colony. Lots of Kerbals, lots of drills and refineries, maybe even get SimpleConstruction (if you'd like) to get the ability to build ships there.

You should make the ends of the arms wedge-shaped or angled so they cork themselves into the cone.
I tried this, but ended up having to add a lot of landing gears so keeping it vertical was easier. Even then, it took a couple reloads as I missed the hole entirely or slammed into the side.
After about 5 hours are banging my head on my keyboard, the lowest point of my base is about as wide as a small ore tank (1.5 meter or so diameter). There's still a single pilot kerbal stuck there, I may save him some day.

You should've sacrificed a few Kerbals to the almighty Kraken before launching. Attempting such a maneuver without pleasing him shall not lead to good things.

Matt, I noticed you are getting alot of swinging when you are locked retrograde and have cancelled most of your speed, and then you are turning/burning sideways as it tries to follow retrograde and that moves the retrograde to the other side and it tries to swinging all the way back to match retrograde the other direction. When you get to the point that you are slowing down to under 10 m/s, I recommend switch to locking radial-out to avoid that.

I know im a little late but you should just Google: delta v map ksp. Just ADD 1000 M/s and then you should be good.

Or start with a base around the rim with docking systems on the inside of every other module, then set up a taller base to allow access to the floor...
Three rather than four legs and tilted 30° toward the command module might be a slightly more stable way to descend and land in there.

Have you tried Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)? I've found it works a lot better than FRAPS.

One time, while playing ksp demo, I got a kerbonaut into orbit. There were about 34 solar panels on the capsule, all deployed. Everything was going well, until I exited the mission and went back. The solar panels became the hosts of the kraken, acting like the kraken's tentacles, ripping the capsule off of the spacecraft and tore the parachute off. I brought brave Bill on eva, but the tentacles of the kraken spun the capsule so fast, he got flung out of the solar system! I tried several times, but nothing worked. Eventually, I brought Bill on eva before the capsule got torn off, and he survived! I used his eva pack to de-orbit him, and he plummeted into the ocean, and lived! I then recovered him with the tracking station. I don't know what to do about the debris though. I HATE THE KRAKEN!

This fucking episode. It broadcasts the Matt Lowne channel. You may be a genius with more time than he needs, you may be shared on JoolTube and the KSP tumblr and reddit over and over again with neverending praise, but this video says what this channel really is. A timewaster with way too much determination and too many doritos.

I would like to mention that you are wasting fuel whenever you are not facing prograde because of cosine losses. You should replace this: 3:36 with a burn where you keep facing prograde throughout the burn. Your periapsis will get raised a little bit while you're doing this, but you can easily correct it when you get to your apoapsis.

I guess "Wiggle Wiggle Kaboom" would have made for a confusing name for this game.
Try to have two crafts orbiting kerbin or whatever planet collide with each other at a speed relative to each other. As if you were docking them, but with intercepting orbits.
Wouldn’t it be easier to open an extendable heat shield at the bottom to land?

I understand that this alone was one heck of a challenge, but the true question is can you put stock missiles on it that are capable of going around Moho, or even back to Kerbin?
You should do mohole golf where you attach sapatrons to a steputnick probes and see if you can crash them into the middle

You can use ore to make fuel, and then you can use generators to change that to electicity.
Matt, is your skybox non-stock? If so which one do you use? 1:10 looks amazing. Also how do you keep your ejection angle when splitting your transfer burn into multiple burns?
Dead End Friends the time it takes to make one complete orbit around Kerbin is so short that it's really completely insignificant compared to how long it takes planets to move along their orbits.
This has not been my experience. An eccentric orbit that takes you from "barely above Kerbin's atmosphere" to "almost outside Kerbin's SoI" takes several days to complete, enough to make you miss a transfer window.
I've tried setting a maneuver node, executing a fraction of the delta-v required, and then right clicking on the node to forward it one orbit, and the delta-v meter resets itself, making it unreliable.
Dead End Friends Firstly, I misread ejection angle as phase angle, my bad. I can see how that would present a problem. In the video, when he does it, he makes a whole new maneuver for the remainder of the burn, so that he can tweak it just right.

I had an idea of building a space base from multiple asteroids. Big one in the middle, smaller ones near it and connect them. I've never actually tried it, because i suck at ksp.
moholes actually pull you in the deeper you are, so it might just be the mohole tearing the ship appart itslef
