- Hey beauties!
So, we live to dye another day! haha. Okay, I'll stop. So, today we're using a gorgeous dark purple dye by Feria. I picked it up at Walmart but I could only find an Amazon link so I hope that's okay. Let me know what you think!
UPDATE: The violet tones did wash out after approximately 3 washes. It looked nice as it faded but I didn't have a lot of violet tones.

i used this dye on my medium brown hair and it barely did ANYTHING. it looks a little bit darker but i’ve used this brand to dye my hair a tinted red before and it looked amazing and very red but when i used the purple i am extremely disappointed.... put so much time into a very underwhelming result
When she steps out in the sun her hair is going to go waaa purple lol. Then after a couple washs she will see.

I am tempted to try this because I want black with the faintest hint of purple, but I’ve never used permanent dye and I might be too scared to start.
I just bought it today and was so happy to do it I followed the instructions and had my mom do it for me I have dark brown hair IT CAME OUT BLACK 😔 I thought she did it wrong or something apparently it’s just the hair dye tho .
111 Yes! I’m so sorry. The same thing happened to me and apparently quite a few other people. What a shame! We wanted purple!
@@JennODonnell Seriously, you didn't see purple even in the daylight? I could see the purple tint in your video.
I put the shine & color booster after the dye. Left some dye in the bottle and added the booster side shine to it. Then timed it for half an hour. It turned out just like the box. Deep Violet is a great choice but next time I'm going to the Salon to get it done.
Time consuming for real.
It’s definitely time consuming and it’s risky to do box dye. It’s true that a salon would be a safer bet. Glad to hear it turned out well for you.
I just tried this color and my hair is completely black now. Not even a hint of violet.

SAME! I thought something was wrong with me or my hair. It definitely just makes your hair black, you really have to look long and hard at your hair strands to see even a hint of purple. It lifted my roots to a very warm red/brown color, not purple at all. This color sucks lol. Makes your hair super soft and shiny though.

Ugh same here! My hair is naturally dark brown but the box said it'll still show and what lie! I'm very upset. 😡 I wanted that slight purple look. ☹
@@Thechancho19 My hair is dark brown and you can see the purple in mine. Have you looked at it under natural light - mine looks VERY purple under natural light. I also let it process for 25-30 minutes. I never do the shorter time because I'm usually doing an all-over color and not just a touchup (mostly because I've never found a hair color that didn't fade.)
@@sheryljohnson424 Hi Sheryl! And yes I seen it under natural light. It had a slight tint of purple but it was mainly so dark purple it looked black. And because I was skeptical about it adhering I left on for 45 mins. So I don't know 🙆🏽♀️ And now...4 months later it has faded into this reddish purple. Which in all honesty, I like better 👍 so at least I got my happy ending lol.
Jenn I couldn't rinse it all off either. I was washing for 20 mins straight. Lol but very beautiful on you. I can't wait to see my hair in the sun.

Oh and OMG the amount of dye in the bottle I NEVER brought one box hair dye I always needed 2 boxes! So yes this brand so good! So shocked it was enough for my length hair!!

Oh good lord... I just bought this and my hair is medium brown now (not blonde like my picture) but I'm really second guessing this...yours was the only video I could find with color V28 and the comments are not good....thinking about returning it but ill keep you updated for sure.

@@JennODonnell Alrite so after reading your comments I returned it. I couldn't have my hair turn black! Or take the chance. I ended up getting another color (just brown). If I go violet I think I'll take the professional route. But it looks so good on you! Id look like a witch if my hair was black!
I used this last week and lemme tell you the color in the bottle at first scared me because my hair pulls a lot of red😂😂. I'm only able to see the purple in good lighting :~)
That’s surprising that it pulled so red! I agree with most other people that it came out very dark with almost no purple, which is a shame.
@@JennODonnell YES!! I agree 100%. The purple washed away for the most part and now I have jet black hair with a hint of plum red

I just used this dye on my hair tonight, my hair is naturally a light to medium brown and I have it dyed dark brown, I applied the dye on top and it wasn’t super purple it looks more like a black but in the light you can sort of see the purple, also it was hard for me to rinse clear too, and it came out similar to yours where it didn’t show up to much :(
sparklingmint66 I’m sorry it didn’t turn out more purple for you. I was a bit disappointed as well. It looked dark and shiny with a hint of purple for me. I’m sorry!
Jenn O'Donnell yeah all it really did was make my hair darker, the purple shows in the light a little bit but still not to impressive :( oh well
Used this dye yesterday and had the same experience. My hair is very dark brown so I didn’t anticipate it being very purple but I also didn’t anticipate (or want) it to be black. 😒 oh well. It’s just hair, right? My first experience with permanent color rather than wash out so should be interesting how it grows out. 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah me too except my hair is like a dirty blonde and it came out black with a hint of like purple ish/ blue. I don’t look good with black hair at all. I thought it would come out purple especially since the initial color after mixing was red. I’m disappointed as well /:
I use this. I found that you have to rinse a LOT and for a long time. I use old towels when I shower because the color does come off on the towels, but not on my pillow case. I think it only "bleeds" when it's wet. I just used this yesterday and my hair did rinse clear, and under my bright LED bathroom lights, you could really see the purple. And outside. Under normal lights inside the house, it mostly looks black.
Thanks for being honest about the fading. I hate that the violets never stick. I wish they would find a way to make a brush on violet without the pomade or sticky feeling.

Hi! Planning on using this same brand off dye on my hair. Currently my hair is silver so if I leave the dye for a less amount of time, will the color be lighter than what it is on the box?
I've never dyed my hair by myself before so please forgive me for the stupid question X'(
SWITCHdonkeyFLIP Hi! This is not a stupid question at all! Typically, the lighter your hair, the more vibrant the dye will be. So it’s a bit risky to try it if you don’t want it that color. I would try to find a lighter version, to be safe. I hope this is helpful!
The box says not to dye if your hair is silver, idk why though
Box says it's not recommended for gray hair. Would silver be too closely related to gray?
@@mcdougalvalentine5801 I've noticed the part of my hair that is gray fades much more quickly than the rest of my hair.
I just used this and the dye didn't even look the color yours did.. It was a more blue color. I just washed and rinsed it so I'm waiting to see how it looks dried.. Honestly though it seems like it's just a straight black which is a bummer. Good thing I have a different purple dye I can use in case this doesn't turn out how it's supposed to.
I’m so sorry this didn’t work for you. I’m honestly disappointed that it seemed to just darken my color and not add much violet. Good luck with your second purple dye, I hope it works!
Hair is now black 🙄 so aggravated! I honestly have naturally ombre hair. This ruined my hair! 😭

Did it stain your towels and pillow after each washing?
I have dark blue towels so I’m not sure. Colors like this do bleed, though, so it’s best to be cautious. Good luck!

@@JennODonnell My hair was light blonde/silver and i waited almost one hour and half. Inside the house is sorf of dark black plum and outside is really plum color.

Ana Laviolette It did continue to lighten after the first week of washes but it stayed with the violet tint and looked shiny. It faded gradually and looked nice for a couple of weeks after. I do wish the color was more vibrant but i think my hair was too dark to take much of the purple color.
Wish I could have been able to see the color on you. You should went somewhere to show the color.
it works better on dark brown hair.. ur natural appear looks blackish brown

my hair came out black ...not violet to be found.
I feel like mine was mostly black with only a little bit of violet. It’s pretty but not as purple as I’d hoped. I’m sorry it did the same to you.

how long did it take to wash out
natalie rolla This washed out in about two weeks. The dark color remained but any purple I had was gone.
@@JennODonnell Your hair must not take dye very well. Mine was purple for about 6 weeks. But my gray was growing back in so I had to dye it again.
How was the fading?
OMG!! I bought the dye and was watching videos to see how it turned out on people and then I went and used it and I am sooooooooooo mad!! Like those jerks over at Feria have to know this color is NOTHING like what is one the box. The result I got is black and it's not even a pretty black, it's grey black. I can't even imagine how I can fix this now. It's not like I can just put some brown over it and get a normal color because it's DARK. The only purple is on my scalp. >.
LMFAO!! 3 hours later I am almost blonde!! I soaked my hair in 10vol and rinsed that and then put on ASV for 15 minutes and then I realized I had Emergen-C packets and I mixed those with dishsoap and put that on top of the ASV and left it for an hour. My roots are pinkish red but the rest of my hair is a really light golden brown. Shadow root tomorrow with some brown color depositing conditioner and I will feel sane again. I didn't think I was ever going to get that black out. The vitamin C trick actually works.
