I'm sure this is super shocking news to you but... I dyed my hair! Again! ha. it is such fun. Anyways, I was super excited to try something really dark and also colorful. It came out pretty well too! I have to say, though, it didn't last very long. I think that's because I dye my hair too frequently, honestly. However, it did look gorgeous for a couple of weeks before it faded!

I got a lot of compliments when i colored my hair this color. I’ve been light for not too long and i love my hair darker and this is my go to. Dyeing it tonight. Also, Your hair looks great!

Your hair looks perfect! It's the way a blue black should look. The previous colour you had acted as a filler for those blonde bits you had and it came out a dark ash brown. This is why the colour worked.
That is my absolute favorite blue black color. Thank you for explaining how it worked. I'm lighter now but I do see this video and want to dye it this color again...

Hi Jenn, thank you for posting this vid, even if I am watching this 2 yrs., 4 mos. into the future. I am contemplating using this exact color for my hair soon. I am one of these people who are, 1) salt and peppery, dark brown, and, 2) experimented with coloring my hair white blonde. I am now half salt and pepper and white blonde up to 4 in. at the ends of shoulder-length hair. I love the dark indigo and want to take a somewhat normal DL photo as my DL is up for expiration. To fill all the grey and the bleached ends, I am planning on coloring with Garnier Nutrisse #56 of the same brand. Then, I will proceed with the Garnier Nutrisse Dark Intense Indigo IN1. I hope this will work. At least seeing all the customer photos on Amazon of folks who went from Shawn White-red to dark indigo are giving me hope. And, as you said, the red gets countered by the blue. Thank you again, Jenn, for your wonderful videos! :-)

Just an FYI for ppl afraid to use this color....Blue black will never turn out blue even if you have blonde hair, sure the blue will show up more but it will always just be a tinge. I always dye my hair blue black as opposed to just black because that little bit of blue in there will make your hair shine so beautifully! 100% recommend if you want black hair!

Just picked this color up from the store today! I have dark brown/ black Asian hair so I’m hoping this shows up and stays for a bit. Trying to be subtle but also still have my favorite color 🥸

@@Esoteraeon it wasnt bad! it showed thru especially in the sun, i will just say avoid sleeping on white pillow cases for a while lol. it stayed pretty well. now my hair especially my dead bleached ends, just looks black and healthy! :)
I just used this color a few days ago... I had a lighter colored hair previously (with a reddish tinge to it) and there was barely any blue to it afterwards, at all. My hair is now basically black and I'm trying like hell to get it to fade out. But whatever... it's just hair. It'll grow out eventually. 😊

You should never color blue on top of red, they cancel each other out
Awesome video. I just did mine after having my hair dyed black for 3 months then my roots started to show so I went this color about 30 minutes ago can’t wait to see the full results.

Aztec Girl Yeah, guys aren’t all that great with hair dye haha. My hair does get pretty straight with just blow drying. I wish I had some curls!
I used on faded dark blue hair, if you pre-bleach your hair it will be a dark blue, if not it will look black with blue highlights.
i still have virgin dark brown/black hair and figured it would look black with blue highlights... which i what i want anyways. i may try it then.

I wasn't paying attention when I went in to get black hair dye and got the same one. It looks good on your hair a hair is also black so hopefully mine will turn out okay too.

Thanks for asking, it turned out way better than I thought. I was really nervous about going to work because I never had a blue tint in my hair ever I got so many compliments on it. So my mistake turned out to be something good. Have a great evening

My hair was multiple shades of brown and it came out a basic blue/black. The smell was horrid. It was as strong as if I had used bleach with it. Was pretty disappointed considering the brand is one I had used for years.
Allison G. I’m so sorry it smelled so terrible, that’s really odd. Have you contacted garnier? I would contact them and see if they will do something. I agree that I’ve used them many times before and never had that so I’m sorry that happened to you. Is the color okay?

Same for me, did the midnight blue black and it was beautiful! But doesn’t last and it takes 2 years for the black to naturally come out .
Michelle G. You’re right and that’s the hardest part about dying black. Bleaching it is terrible and it takes forever to grow out! It honestly makes me think about wearing a wig....

Did blue showed more after a couple washes
It didn't! I really wish it would have. I think my hair was just too dark and color-treated from the beginning so it didn't get as blue as I'd hoped. I hope this answers your question. Thank you so much!

Same here I have medium brown hair naturally and it just turned into a darker brown. I should have gotten the more expensive kind
I have a grown out balayage and I’ve been wanting to try a blue black hair colour, but I was wondering what it looks like when it fades (especially around the blonde). Do you have any experiences with what a washed out blue black would look like around the blonde ends?
Zainub Qureshi I do not, I’m sorry. I typically go dark and stay dark for a while. When I go from blonde to very dark, I usually do it a bit more gradually with reds so that I don’t risk going green. I hope that’s helpful!
I have never dyed my hair and my hair is medium dark brown, would this work and make my hair black w a blue tinge like your hair?
If you have dark brown hair and you've never dyed it, you are an ideal candidate for this color. It should give you the color on the box. I really liked how this turned out on my hair and I dye mine regularly so it should look great on you! Good luck!

I’m the same, dark brown hair and have never died them. Now in the quarantine looks like the ideal for me haha. Will that look nice? I’m a young man, and want a change. Also what can I do with the eyebrows? Dark Dark brown

I completely understand your hesitation. The dark hair dye can stain some material. If you’re careful in your application and watch how it splatters as you rinse, you should be okay. It can be tricky, I’m sorry about that aspect.
