Quick update guys: Honda have replaced the start button under warranty and this has cured the problem👌 thanks for the comments suggesting that this was the problem😉
Have this problem as well in Singapore, and it’s getting worse over the years. Will get it replaced, hopefully it will solved the issue as it’s damm dangerous.
Completely same as my trouble. Some reports seem to exist on the web page of Japanese ministry of transportation for this trouble. So disheartend by this defects, this defect should be opened and notified to users, otherwise it ends big accident and injury in the worst case.
I've heard it can be cleared up with a good squirt of WD-40 around the ignition switch, as it's due to water ingress in the switch causing a short. Get the water out, you're good to go. Always carry a roll of duct tape and a can of WD-40. If it's sticking or wet & it shouldn't be, WD-40. If it's not sticking & it should, duct tape.
Yes it’s happened with my dct 3 or 4 times now, only when giving the throttle small inputs just like in your case. It’s due its first year service so I’ll let the dealer know. 👍
My Africa Twin 1100 AS DCT had this problem, I have it booked in to get switch done but I really don't think it is the switch, I always felt it was a fueling issue and on talking to a mechanic he happened to ask me was I using E5 or E10 fuel , I told him I was using E10 , he said , I'm not saying it is your fuel but you have to remember you have 2 big 550 pistons looking for fuel, he said try the E5 fuel ! I had a full tank of E10 and bike was not running well at all , alway threatening to stall, the mechanic said get a good fuel additive, which I did and wow bike immediately was running better, I switched to E5 fuel and hasn't stalled since , also fuel lasts longer ?? 😳🤔
never happened to me, but my opinion is that you should not warm it up. Let me explain. I never warm it up, I just turn the bike on in the moment I have to go, so I put first gear and leave.... at the beginning the idle is higher than normal and the clutch is engaging in delay letting the engine revving at higher rpm... this prevents any stalling when cold. My opinion is that if you warm up the engine you leave at lower rpm, but the engine and the gearbox is not really warm, so it can stall because is no more helped by the higher rpm. I think that if you try to leave immediately with a cold engine you will not have stalling problems.
mine stalls everyday, being warmed only aftrer hours of riding. It mainly stalls in 1 gear or when i drift lol, i will today ask honda for a guarantee, this is very dangerous
Thanks for the link. Mine is slightly different symptoms, it starts with no problems I then let the bike warm up till 3 bars are showing then ride off. It stalls within the first 10 mins but after that no problems or stalls?
That's not the same problem OP is experiencing. OP, I've had that issue happen to me a couple times traveling uphill from start. It only happened when I had the traction control on. I now remember to turn off the traction control completely before riding the bike. Never did feel traction control/ABS was necessary. Guess I'm an old fashion rider who believes in skills. Give it a go and report back.
@@FoolishMuleProds guglateck makes a filter kit for the pump to eliminate this issue, honda only flushes the tank and replaces the pump filter, tank welds still contaminate the fuel it will happen again. I'm hearing they didn't even correct it on the 1100.
@@FoolishMuleProds check it out to confirm, not sure about 2021, but saw a post that 2020 did, from an owner that had to take to the dealer, found a Honda service bulletin that's says only the adventure sport bikes are affected, "larger fuel tanks"

Never never happened to me I’m using it more than 15 months . I so proud of my mean machine. 😍👍

Happened the same thing 4 times in first 3 months. Never happened again in the last 9 months. Only on very slow throttle.

I have the at for one week now! 100km and has stalled twice. Both times the engine wasn’t cold. What can I do?thanks
piggievaper go to the Honda Service and have the Starter Button replace the warranty. they know about this defect.

2019 DCT keeps cutting out at eny speed going back to dealership today again second visit with 1500 miles on the clock adventure sport
