The final game of 2019 at Farnborough Wargaming Society was a familiar and always fun game of AWI Sharp Practice. The Americans have to stop a bridge being built by the British and loyalist forces... - เกม

Tabletop Generals I have played 2 games but didn’t really enjoy them, but I want to give it another go at some point as others rate it so highly
@@BootsontheTable it is not that easy to get the whole picture after a couple of games.
It went well. SP works better with an objective, but sometimes it is hard to be fair to both sides by making it achievable. We did start with the engineers needing 20 dice points but after a few high rolls, we upped it to 30, which on reflection was wrong as it became unachievable. I think in the end we rolled 22 or 23, so had we kept it at 20 the loyalist/British would have achieved their objective, but bigger losses would have meant a draw as the Continentals were winning that side of things. Maybe we should give it another go with 2o points as the target but no wood cover, which means the Yanks can fire from a longer distance. Good fun as always.
I think on further thought probably 20 was fine - if we had broken the British in a future game (idea for another scenario) we could be holding it against the main British attack and I would have claimed a win!

Seldom have a bad game of Sharp Practice!
Controlled Volley First and First Fire can both only be used on the very first shot of the game, I think the militia may have split up their uses in the game. Apologies if I missed something. Really enjoy your bat reps!
