@@BootsontheTable Great review as usual! Always like the major character rules which add good flavour to the armies. Personally the Roman manipular stuff is probably overrated, but I understand why its in there. Keep up the good work. 😎
I think that Triarii are fielded back to back and not next to each other. So they might require 2 bases but are just one base wide and two deep. Don’t remember where I stumbled across that, 7th son maybe? Anyway, I am really looking forward to g forward to this release. I really appreciate that they have pre-made army lists and scenarios!
I do wonder why they even consider the 10x6 foot table for some of the big battles. I thought the reason for epic scale was that you could fight those battles on a table size most mortals would have access to at home.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm genuinely excited about this release. I've pre ordered the Hannibal set. It's great to have an insight into what to expect, especially as I've not played Hail Caesar before. Great content. Keep it coming please.
from memory there isnt really that much difference tbh, as the Pike and Shotte main rules cover a fairly narrow period I guess, but I'll take another look to be certain
@@BootsontheTable Please do. I about to try my 1st Pike and Shotte game. Having the pike and the 2 shotte units activating separately seems off. They acted as a unit
we play Epic Pike and Shotte on a 4ft wide table and actually it isnt so much of a problem as you think. Its the musket fire which is alarming and I guess bows and ballistas will be here. But there's nothing to stop you changing and using cm
Great run through Dom, far more detailed than my little exploration, and it’s always nice to hear from someone who knows what they’re talking about.
Glad you think so 😉
Thanks for the run-through - it was really helpful to get a preview. The Manipular rules are awesome!
My pleasure! It looks like a great rule

you could be entirely right mate. The release looks amazing and I cant wait for a game - as soon as I finish painting up some of the little suckers!

Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Dom, Trebbia with the ambush rule will be an early one to do (fave).
yeah looks like there are a couple i'll be keen to try
Nice review, Dom 👍
Thanks! 👍
Is there any chance you could do a look at Epic Pike and Shotte rules and changes? . Thanks

Great look dom
Appreciate it
IMO Movement should be done in cm instead of inches.
Otherwise you need a very large Table.

In the rules it says you can use cm instead of inches to accommodate smaller tables.
Good review Dom. The Epic Scale look good, but will my eyes cope? 😵💫
Not going to lie Alec, mine struggled
Dom , I know you sell item’s on eBay . Can you let me know under what name. Regards Paul
I'm more of a buyer than a seller tbh mate. Just don't tell the wife! Occasional sell off but very occasional!
