You can buy them these but will they use it that is the bigger question. I think it is best to let kids be kids. It is like older people complaining about us being glued to our PC when we were younger. Moderation is everything.

Backing a new project like this is sketchy, because you never know if the company will actually deliver. But once these phones actually start selling, people will have a lot more trust. I'm gonna buy one as soon as I see a good, comprehensive review, and I would definitely help back the next generation of these phones.

If you'll see it ever, sure not before autumn 2025! All prototypes, no certifications, all pre-production. The only reliable thing with this company is: We can assure you that it is delayed. I bet there will be a big announcement late spring: We were faced with major challenges during pre-production, that we had not anticipated. I have always wanted a phone just like this ever since I saw the light phone. The biggest problem with their e-ink display, was the typing experience, which could be solved easily by a qwerty keyboard. And you did just that. I am going to pre-order right now. this is a really nice vision come true. I hope the next version has a more compact design. A phone similar to BB classic Q20 but running android and with E-ink display. That's a dream come true!
I really love the idea ! i wish it has a sliding keyboard in order to gain some more screen real estate while still remaining compact and also slimmer bezels .. It would allow a better experience for reading article or ebooks or even look at gps maps for exemple .. maybe for gen 2 ;) anyway congratulation for the launch and all the hard work !

Under the "Durability" button of the "Maximize Every Moment with Minimal Phone" heading, the headphone jack is shown on the TOP left corner. However scrolling down to the "Technical Specifications" at the very bottom, the headphone jack is shown on the BOTTOM LEFT next to the charging port. Clarity would be appreciated, thanks.
Well done guys! I backed this within minutes of seeing it so I will be great to have a real keyboard phone in hand again soon. Sincerely hope the production phase goes to plan. Looking ahead I'm conscious that many phones have limited updates. Any information on likely period this phone will be supported? Have you considered a small subscription for those wanting to extend the support period. It seems there is far too much otherwise perfectly functioning hardware lost to "waste" for the want of software support. Well done again guys. Fingers crossed for the final run in.

When I preordered this phone, they said I would get it in October. The next communication I got from them was on October 9, when they finally got around to letting me know that it wouldn't be October, but instead November-December, before the holidays. Now it's two weeks into December, they finally communicate with me once again-with a claim that the phone would be at my door "very soon", and link to a TH-cam video. Buried somewhere in the video was their definition of "very soon"-at around 2:00, they tell us that it means January to March, so another three weeks to three months. I'm familiar with the principle that the unexpected delays take about as much time as the expected delays, so having to wait until January or February or March wouldn't be a complete dealbreaker or surprise me that much...but I am pretty unhappy that they keep waiting until the last minute to tell us about the unexpected delays, and very unhappy with the fact that the announcement of the delay is buried most of the way into a video I am frankly not that interested in watching.
Just wish it was a little less wider for small hands so I could use it without using both hands. Other than that, it's a dream phone. Don't need high spec camera or high spec phone, that headphone jack and sd card slot are the biggest bonus for me. Gonna pre-order it soon
The only thing that would prevent me from using this phone is the camera. Big tech knows this, which is why there’s a huge focus on phone camera quality. Put a banger camera in this thing and I’m in!

On the site , after you purchase the phone. It'll give you 10 minutes to add a case or screen protector to your order. After you buy, but it is still there. And they actually look nice too. $30 cad for the case. Obviously it's a little much for what it is, but in terms of 'mass production ' you're definitely paying for how limited/specialized it is. I'm not a case guy, but I was tempted because they seem slim and simple.
The clips with the production line should have been released as soon they had them. Sliding dates are a given in crowdfunding. Potential customers seeing doubtful post, and not buying because of that is preventable.

This would be a great phone for cyclists. Bike computers (phone sized computers for navigating while cycling) are ridiculously expensive - the same cost as a smartphone for way less functionality. But with the Minimal phone’s android OS, e ink screen and long battery life, it could double as a perfectly functional bike computer.

There are actually many other options - "dumphones" - like this (e.g. the Light Phone, Sunbeam F1 Pro, Nokia 2780).

Már megkérdeztem, és azt mondták, hogy csak QWERTY, de szoftveresen :D állítható Vicc, hogy csak azért ismerik a qwerty-t, mert csak magukra gondolnak, és nem akarnak kétszer annyit eladni a világ minden táján:D Ezért nem vettem meg az Unihertzet sem, mert csak qwerty volt. Az egyetlen komoly gyártó a BlackBerry és a Nokia volt, amelyek szintén QWERTZ-et gyártottak. Typical American mentality.

Ahányat eddig eladtak csodálkoznék ha meghaladná a 20-at a qwertz billentyűzetet igénylők száma. Nagy bejáratott cégek vagy előre tudták, hogy körülbelül hányat adnak el az adott régióban, vagy amúgyis saját folyamatos gyártósoruk volt, amin 3 napig qwerty-t, fél napig azerty-t, megint fél napig qwertz-et, ésígytovább gyártottak. Ha egy más gyárat kell megbízni akkor először a minőségről kell megygyőződni és azok a gyárak ahol minőségi munkát csinálnak, ott 10.000 darabnál kezdődik tipusonként a rendelési mennyiség. Így is csodálkozom, hogy hogyan tudnak 3 színváltozatot kínálni. Qwertz billenytűzet elfeljthető.
Mondjuk én sem örvendek a csúsztatott határidőnek, így is jobb, mint a semmi.
Én még akkor fizettem be amikor még 5 soros qwerty-t ígértek, nem örvendek a sok változásnak, de jó, hogy valamit szállítanak ami hasonlít. Majd amikor ezt a rendelést eladták, akkor jön egy második generációs telefon aminek lehet, hogy nem színt, hanem billentyűzetet lehet választani.
De az is lehet, hogy kiküldik a rendeléseket, utána nem adnak el eleget ahhoz, hogy működésban maradjanak és egy csődeljárásban valaki felvásárolja olcsón a maradék telefont, majd jobb áron adja és úgy már több személyhez jut el és többnek tetszik, de már késő lesz.

On the site , after you purchase the phone. It'll give you 10 minutes to add a case or screen protector to your order. After you buy, but it is still there. And they actually look nice too. $30 cad for the case. Obviously it's a little much for what it is, but in terms of 'mass production ' you're definitely paying for how limited/specialized it is.
I'm not a case guy, but I was tempted because they seem slim and simple.

This would be a great phone for cyclists. Bike computers (phone sized computers for navigating while cycling) are ridiculously expensive - the same cost as a smartphone for way less functionality. But with the Minimal phone’s android OS, e ink screen and long battery life, it could double as a perfectly functional bike computer.

Azért is mondtam le a megrendelést, mert már majdnem egy éve ígérgetnek, de manapság nem tudnak semmi konkrétumot felmutatni!
