    Mabuhay! Sir Rene Japitana.
These are the three things I've learned from the lecture.
First, the Pop Culture as a Reflection of Society. Modern pop culture reflects the values, beliefs, and behaviors of society. It shows what is trendy or acceptable at any time, helping people connect with larger social stories.
Second, the Role of Technology in Pop Culture Evolution. Technology has greatly changed how pop culture is shared and consumed. Social media and streaming services have made it easier to access various cultural content, leading to quick changes in trends and shared experiences among different groups.
Lastly, the pop culture helps shape personal identities and build community connections. People bond over shared interests in music, movies, and entertainment, creating a sense of belonging within different fandoms or cultural groups.

    Mabuhay, Sir!
What I've learned is It encourages cross-cultural understanding, appreciation for different perspectives, and opportunities for collaboration and dialogue.
Modernity in the Philippines is characterized by urbanization, technological advancements, globalization, and cultural diversity. These factors have contributed to the emergence of a modern Filipino identity that is at once rooted in tradition and open to new ideas. As the country continues to embrace modernity, there is a growing sense of confidence, creativity, and dynamism among Filipinos, which is reflected in their cultural expressions.
The fusion of Philippine modernity and popular culture creates a unique and compelling narrative that reflects the socio-political, economic, and cultural realities of the country. It serves as a platform for self-expression, social commentary, and community engagement, allowing Filipinos to celebrate their heritage while engaging with contemporary issues and global trends.

Mabuhay sir Japitana, this is Adrian S. Garate from BSTM2
What I have learned about this content is:
    1.Culture isn't born, IT'S MADE
Because how can Culture be put to existence if it wasn't because of people in a community? People made CULTURE. and it spreaded across the world Millenia ago.
    2.CULTURE NEVER CHANGE.
If you're working abroad and you see people normalizing things that might be prohibited or sensitive to your culture, the chance will be possible for you to experience CULTURE SHOCK, You'll be having difficulties of Adjusting on your Environment and Surroundings because you knew you weren't in that culture.
    3. CULTURE also made us different from one another.
Someone are open minded to understand us and our differences and some are too ignorant so all they do is to Laugh as their reaction.

    Here are the 3 things I have learned from this video;
✓ Our culture plays an significant role which it shapes our sense of identity, influences our viewpoints, and directs our interactions with others. It is important to note that our culture is not stagnant; it evolves as societies adapt to new concepts, technologies, and influences.
✓ After watching this video, I gained valuable insights into the way of life and cultural practices of the past. It made me realize the importance of respecting and preserving our own traditions. Unfortunately, in today's society, many Filipinos have veered away from our rich cultural heritage and instead adopted foreign traditions. This shift can be seen as detrimental and toxic to our country, the Philippines.
✓ When we reflect on our past, we are captivated by the valuable traditions that we no longer practice today. It is fascinating to imagine how life was in the past.

the 3 things that I've learned about this video Social media has become a powerful force in shaping Philippine pop culture.
Philippine pop culture often blends traditional elements with modern influences, creating a unique hybrid.
This can be seen in music, where traditional instruments are sometimes incorporated into pop songs, or in fashion, where designers draw inspiration from indigenous textiles and patterns.
From the use of Tagalog in songs and films to the celebration of Filipino heroes and historical events, there is a conscious effort to promote Filipino culture and values.

Mabuhay Mr. Japitana, these are the 3things I've learned from this video sir,
1.Influence of Global Culture: I learned that Philippine pop culture has been significantly shaped by global trends, especially with the influence of Western and Korean entertainment. This has affected how Filipinos consume media, music, and fashion.
2.Power of Social Media: One of the key points was how social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram have revolutionized the way trends spread in the Philippines. These platforms give Filipino creators a global stage, allowing local content to reach a wider audience.
3.Blending Tradition and Modernity: I found it interesting how the lecture highlighted the ongoing blending of traditional Filipino values with modern influences. This combination continues to shape the evolving identity of Filipinos in today’s pop culture landscape.

I appreciate you sharing your expertise on this topic, Sir Rene.
I've now discovered that pop culture has a wide range of social effects. It is simply a culture that is generally admired or liked by many people; it has no negative connotations. Pop culture is defined as a collection of enduring beliefs, customs, and other elements.
I've also studied about ethnocentrism, which is the belief that one's own nationality, ethnic group, or group is superior to all others and which might strengthen social cohesion.
Finally, I now understand what cultural relativism is. It means that while assessing a culture or belief system, we are rejecting our own standards of what is right or bad.

I learned a great deal by watching this. I have learned that to comprehend the impact of pop culture.
we first need to grasp what pop culture is. Furthermore, pop culture has a broad impact on our society. Pop culture fosters and strengthens bonds with others who have similar interests.
On a more intimate level, it aids in personal development and increases tolerance. It encourages the development and international recognition of our country in addition to the spread of one of the most unique cultures in the world: ours.
One thing that I got from you while watching this was; for us to be connected we should use social media because everything that we practice, everything that we performed, everything that we believe is considered to be part of our culture. Because thats what we call the way of living

Mabuhay !And I want to share the three things I've learned from this conversation. First off, pop culture is still vital and a part of our world today, and globalization has greatly influenced it. Second, I discovered that the usage of new media technologies has made the world into a village where everyone is connected. Finally, Using preconceived beliefs obtained from one's own culture's standards and customs to judge other civilizations is known as ethnocentrism. Contrarily, cultural relativism asserts that a culture should be understood according to its own standards rather than through the eyes of another. Inaccurate judgments about other people's conduct based on your norms, values, and beliefs are frequently the result of ethnocentrism.

    2. Social media and technology have amplified the spread of both local and global pop culture in the Philippines, and also making a content creation accessible to all.
    3. Filipino pop culture often reflects societal issues like politics and inequality and providing a platform for the social commentary and identity exploration.

    Mabuhay Sir!!
These are the 3 things I've learned after watching the video
Modernity and pop culture are deeply interconnected, with each influencing and reflecting the other. My understanding of this relationship stems from the ways modernity reshapes societies and the ways pop culture becomes a lens through which these changes are understood, consumed, and reflected upon.
    2. One of the defining elements of modernity is technological innovation, which has completely transformed pop culture. With the rise of the internet, streaming platforms, and social media, pop culture is now more accessible, participatory, and immediate than ever before. Fans no longer just consume culture; they interact with it, create their own content, and form communities around shared interests.
    3. Another important understanding of modernity and pop culture is the tension between tradition and innovation. Modernity often pushes for the new, the innovative, and the progressive, while pop culture, at times, leans on nostalgia and revives past trends.

Good evening, Sir! The three things I learned as I watched the discussion is:
First, Pop culture as a collection of practices, beliefs, works of art, and items that are preferred or common in that community during a certain period. Second, is this topic also teaches us to understand different cultures and to avoid making judgments on other people's cultures. Lastly, I understand that language is the most crucial component of any culture since it serves as its road map. Without language, a culture cannot survive since it cannot be shared and transferred.

As a result of the growing usage of media technologies worldwide, I learned about the concept of the "Global Village," which describes the entire globe as a more integrated reality. 2. First, the influence of other individuals or trends, particularly through social media, such as Chinese fashion, music from other nations, or even our cuisine, might limit the effect of other cultures in the Philippines. This is because information is now available at all times and may be accessed by anyone.
The second is "GLOBAL VILLAGE," which stresses the internet as the source of all people and describes today's culture.
Finally, cultural relativism is the ability to adapt to or value the culture of others without passing judgment on it.

One of the key takeaways from the video is the impact of globalization on Filipino pop culture. With the spread of Western influences through media and technology, Filipino pop culture has evolved to incorporate elements from different parts of the world while still maintaining its unique identity.
Another important point highlighted in the video is the role of social media in shaping modern Filipino culture. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have become a major driving force behind trends, fashion, and entertainment in the Philippines.
Lastly, the video also touched upon the significance of traditional Filipino values and customs in the modern context. Despite the rapid changes brought about by globalization and technology, many Filipinos still hold on to their cultural heritage and traditions.

Sir Rene, I appreciate your generosity in providing this instructional recording.
    1. When discussing culture, it is important to prioritize our own culture over other nations' cultures that are practiced here in the Philippines. Yes, we should embrace other cultures, but we should do so sparingly because our own culture is distinctive and allows us to uphold our traditions, beliefs, and sense of national identity as Filipinos.
2.helps us comprehend how various popular cultures developed and how local customs affect people's behavior.

Mabuhay! Thank you, Sir Rene Japitana
The three key lessons I have gained from your teachings are:
First, even in the Philippines, cultures are greatly shaped by the large influence of outsiders and current events, particularly through social media. Global influences, such as Chinese fashion trends, foreign music, or even cuisine, can occasionally eclipse regional customs. Everyone has instant access to information, which makes it simpler for other cultures to influence our tastes and actions.
Second, the idea of the "Global Village" emphasizes how the internet has greatly increased human connectivity, ushering in a time where distances no longer separate us. People may share experiences, ideas, and cultures with each other anywhere in the world thanks to this digital civilization, which makes the world seem smaller and more interconnected.
Lastly, I've discovered the value of cultural relativism-the capacity to recognize and value other people's cultures without imposing our own preconceptions or biases. It's about realizing that every culture has its own distinct beliefs and customs, and that rather than passing judgment, we have to make an effort to comprehend and accommodate them.

It's not a simple linear progression, but rather a dynamic interplay of global influences, local traditions, and individual experiences. 2. Philippine modernity is marked by both progress and challenges.

Modern Filipino identity is now a blend of local traditions and global trends, showcasing the balance between preserving cultural heritage and embracing modernity.
    2. The Role of Pop Culture in Shaping Social Norms - The video highlighted how pop culture, especially through television and social media, plays a huge role in shaping social norms, behaviors, and even political opinions. It shows how Filipinos use these platforms not only for entertainment but also for expressing ideas and engaging with societal issues.
    3. Youth as Drivers of Cultural Change - Lastly, the video emphasized that the younger generation is a major driving force behind cultural changes. Through their openness to international trends and their strong presence on digital platforms, they continuously shape the evolving narrative of modern Filipino culture.

Thank you, sir, for the valuable lessons from the video.
It showed how Philippine Culture has changed by mixing with other cultures. One thing that I've learned is that other countries' culture can influence the Philippines through trends, especially on social media. Things like Korean fashion, foreign music, and even our food have been impacted by this cultural exchange because information is readily available. Secondly, culture includes things like language, religion, social media, and music. It's not just about traditions, but it shapes who we are and how we interact with others, from what we eat to how we greet people. This video reminded us that culture is always changing and affects every part of our lives. And lastly, analyzing pop culture prompts us to think critically about our society and, in doing so, fosters empathy by helping us see our commonalities.
Thanks for sharing this important knowledge.💗💗💗

The world is getting small because of Global Age, and Globalization plays a big part of it. Each country has its own culture and some of those are being influenced of the trend. The information now can be easliy access through social media. Pilipino Pop Culture are being integrated by other popular culture like america. I am grateful for this conversation, Sir Rene. These are the three main things I've learned: the phrase "global village" refers to the idea that people are connected to one another throughout the world as a result of modernization, technological advancements, and mass media, which shrinks the world. Anything that is currently in existence and is still practiced by the majority of people in a particular nation or community is referred to as pop culture. Finally, in order to prevent ethnocentrism within ourselves, we need to be accepting of the fact that there are many other cultures, communities, and groups in the world besides our own. Since our beliefs and practices differ, nobody should treat others poorly or make them feel less than. Studying, observing, and comprehending them should come first.

Philippine pop culture today is shaped by many outside influences, like Western music, TV shows, and fashion, which have blended with our own traditions. Globalization has opened doors for different cultures to mix, and we see that in our music, movies, and even food.
    2) Filipino Identity
Despite all these influences, Filipinos still find a way to keep their own unique identity. Our love for family, traditions, and values stays strong, and we add our personal touch to the trends and styles that come from abroad.
    3)Continuous Change
Philippine pop culture is always changing because of new trends from both inside and outside the country. Modern technology and social media also play a big part in making sure that change happens faster. But even with this, our culture remains a mix of both old and new.

Thank you Sir Rene Japitana the three things that I'll learn is
First, the influence of other people or trends, especially through social media, such as China fashion, music from other countries, or even our food, can limit the influence of other cultures here in the Philippines. This is because information is now readily available at any time and can be accessed by anyone.
The second is "GLOBAL VILLAGE," which emphasizes the internet as the source of all humanity and describes the civilization in which we currently live.
And lastly is Cultural relativism is the capacity to acclimate to or value the culture of others without passing judgment on it.

Here are the 3 things I've learned during your discussion, sir.
    1. As we are living in a Global Village, we can say that the modernity, technological improvements, and mass media that have made the world appear smaller have connected people all over the world.
    2. Then the popular culture of other countries makes us influence the trends, especially through social media, because nowadays, information can be easily accessed anytime. That also makes us copy or imitate their culture and acquire it.
    3. As we all know, ethnocentrism is the practice of judging other cultures based on preconceptions derived from one's own culture's standards and customs. Cultural relativism, on the other hand, holds that a culture should be understood on its own terms, rather than using the standards of another culture.

    1. Influence of Globalization**: Philippine pop culture has been significantly shaped by globalization. Western media, including movies, music, and fashion, have heavily influenced local trends. This blend creates a unique fusion of local traditions with global styles.
    2. Dynamic Music Scene**: The Philippine music scene is vibrant and diverse, encompassing various genres from traditional folk to modern pop and hip-hop. Artists like Moira Dela Torre and Ben&Ben have gained widespread recognition both locally and internationally, showcasing the country's rich musical talent.
    3. **Social Media and Digital Platforms**: Social media and digital platforms play a crucial role in shaping modern Filipino pop culture. Platforms like TikTok and TH-cam have become important for both entertainment and cultural expression, allowing for rapid dissemination of trends and fostering a new generation of content creators.

Mabuhay! Thank you, Sir Rene Japitana.
The three key lessons I have gained from your teachings are:
First, the significant influence of other people and trends, especially through social media, has a profound impact on shaping cultures, even here in the Philippines. Whether it’s fashion trends from China, music from other countries, or even food, these global influences can sometimes overshadow local traditions. With information being readily available to everyone at any time, it becomes easier for external cultures to shape our preferences and behaviors.
Second, the concept of the "Global Village" highlights how the internet has connected humanity on a vast scale, creating a world where we are no longer confined by geographic boundaries. This digital civilization allows people to share ideas, culture, and experiences across the globe, making the world feel smaller and more interconnected.
Lastly, I have learned the importance of cultural relativism, which is the ability to respect and appreciate other cultures without imposing our own judgments or biases. It’s about recognizing that every culture has its unique values and practices, and instead of criticizing, we should seek to understand and adapt to them.

Thanks to your talk, sir, I now know that popular culture, also known as pop culture, is the whole of concepts, viewpoints, behaviors, images, and other phenomena that are typical of a particular culture, particularly Western culture from the early to mid-20th century and the developing global mainstream from the late 20th and early 21st century. This set of concepts permeates society's daily life and is greatly impacted by the mass media. The pop culture categories that are most frequently encountered are sports, news, entertainment, politics, fashion, technology, and slang. A common perception of popular culture is that it has been trivialized and dumbed down to gain widespread acceptability in society. Because of this, it receives harsh criticism from a variety of alternative sources who consider it to be shallow, consumerist, sensationalist,

Here are the three thins that I've learned after watching your video Sir.
The first one si about Classical Culture: Classical culture is most commonly associated with ancient Greek and Roman art, literature, philosophy, and societal conventions. Key lessons include a knowledge of their contributions to current Western civilization, such as democratic underpinnings, philosophical investigation, and architectural styles. Classical culture also emphasizes the importance of human reason, civic duty, and mythology in interpreting natural and social events. It is most commonly associated with ancient Greek and Roman art, literature, philosophy, and society conventions. Key lessons include a knowledge of their contributions to current Western civilization, such as democratic underpinnings, philosophical investigation, and architectural styles.
The second one is about the Individual in Society:
This topic investigates how people interact with and are influenced by the larger social systems that surround them. Key findings include the relationship between personal freedom and social responsibility, the significance of social norms in shaping individual behavior, and how societal institutions (such as family, education, and government) influence personal growth and identity.
Lastly about the Ethnocentrism and Relativism: Ethnocentrism is the tendency to perceive other cultures through the prism of one's own culture, which can lead to the notion that one's own culture is superior. Relativism, on the other hand, holds that cultural behaviors and beliefs should be understood and judged in their own cultural context, rather than imposing external norms.

    A pleasant afternoon Sir!
3 things that I learned in this video.
    1. Cultural Fusion: The Philippines has undergone a mixture of traditional and contemporary influences, forming its distinctive cultural background. This blending can be seen in multiple elements like language, food, and art, showcasing the nation's skill in embracing and incorporating a range of influences.
    2. Technological progress: The shift to modernity in the Philippines has been characterized by swift technological advancements. Since the advent of electricity and telecommunications to the current prevalence of digital technologies, there has been a strong embrace of innovation in the country, resulting in notable advancements in multiple industries.
    3. Social and Political Changes: As the Philippines moves towards modernity, there have been changes in social structures and political landscapes. Efforts towards democracy, shifts in governance, and moves towards social equality have been influential in molding the nation's contemporary identity.
    Thank you Sir!

I appreciate you bringing up this subject, po. The three things I discovered were that traditional Filipino culture is mixed with Western culture in the Philippines and that Filipinos respect their family, their religion, and their appreciation of the arts, fashion, music, and cuisine.
-The second is the phrase "Global Village," which refers to the society in which we currently reside and highlights the importance of connecting via the internet, which is derived from everyone.
And when someone needs to work extremely hard to integrate into a new situation, culture shock doesn't seem to be a pleasant experience. But as time goes on, it can have a strong and good influence on a person's life.

Thank you sir for your wonderful discussion
These are the 3 things that I have learned from this video is that
Studying pop culture teaches us something new by challenging us to critically consider the society we live in. The study of pop culture helps us to gain empathy by recognizing ourselves in each other. I learned also that ethnocentrism is people make judgement about other cultures according to the customs and values of their own terms before comparisons can be made and the other one is cultural relativism that the social groups and cultures must be studied and understand on their own and that is their differences
