    Well done pal. By the way the qs can be switched on and off in the settings. If it’s like my my speed triple. I rode this bike and it’s very nice. Unfortunately it’s missing the torquey kick if the GS..

    Tested exactely the same one two weeks ago at my dealership in Belgium. Main difference with my 1200 GS (°2015) : the Tiger corners sensibly better but the torque of the GS (even "an older" 1200) is way better than the newest Tiger ! All in all not regretting my commissioning and eagerly expecting my Lucerne Blue GT Explorer for June !

      Such is the nature of a multi and higher revving engine. The power gain is at the expense of low end. It’s why I prefer twins.

      Torque is the secret sauce of the GS. Not to mention other wonderful character elements.

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Alain, that is very interesting to hear 👍 Even the older GS has noticeable more low down torque than the new Tiger! I suppose it is great to have the option of either the GS or the Tiger 1200, we are spoilt for choice!
      Massive congratulations on your purchase, I hope you really enjoy your new Tiger! Cheers

      @@redangrevival , to be very honest, I got a full-line Akrapovic exhaust on my 1200 GS since 2016 i.e. titanium header as well. Not road legal because the catalyser is omitted, but to me a lovely deep sound and free flow of the burned gasses which generates tangibly a lot more torque ! A catalytic converter acts like an obstacle. My GT Explorer won't undergo that change. It 'll remain as it will be delivered because severe noise regulations are expected to come on the continent in due course.

      @@alainvankerkhove8141 👍that sounds like a lovely set up! I bet it feels brilliant to ride. Fair enough, that is a shame but I guess it is for the overall good (one hopes!). Can't beat that immediate throttle response and torque. Cheers

    Test rode one today. The handling is the best aspect of this bike. The performance is great as is the comfortable riding position. The odd engine sound below 4k takes a bit of getting used to, but it gives the engine a character that is missing from the clean whistle triples. Handle bar and foot peg vibs are there but they are low and don't affect anything. Above 4k revs and the bike excels.

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      👍 completely agree with all your points. I was very surprised by the handling, they have done a great job with it. I personally really like the T-Plane crane triples, it gives a nice amount of character but you till get the benefits of a triple engine.
      There are definitely more vibes, but as you say I think one would get used to them pretty quickly.
      It is not a perfect bike, but overall very nice!

    Good review, thanks. I have just done a test ride...it's good to ride, but...there are a few buts. 1. It's a subjective thing, but I don't find it beautiful. I look at my Speedmaster and love it, but not this. 2. It does...rattle. 3. It's lighter than before, but it's still a top heavy beast to push around, and getting it on the centre stand wasn't easy. I like the shaft drive, but...

    Hi Angus,This review is the one I’ve been for waiting as an owner of a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro and I really enjoyed hearing your overall impression of it in which you sound very enthused in buying one.
    I do agree that you need more time on it to really get a complete feel for the machine.
    I do find that the handlebar position on the 900 makes my hands ache due to it being forward and I am considering handlebar risers to bring them closer.
    If you get an opportunity to test ride the rally pro,that would be very interesting to compare it with the pro.
    Have a great weekend there👍

      I had the same issue with having to reach, and risers solved it. Two inch Rox risers. But be careful, I didn't manage the cables well during install, and made my clutch box stop working (the part that tells the computer the clutch is in so it will start). Warranty covered it (thanks Triumph for being great) but it was a hassle getting it TO the dealer. I think I left the bars dangling with weight pulling the cable. Not sure.

    • @simonporter6209
      @simonporter6209 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scottstewart5784 Hi Scott,Thank you for your comment on the handlebar riser and as you say,the important issue is to ensure the cables fit correctly.
      I’m still holding out from doing it with the hope that I will adapt but I often get achy hands due to the bars position.
      I wonder if there are others that experience this and it would be interesting to know,if the new 1200 is the same as the 900 in respect to the handlebar position.
      Happy riding 👍

      Hi Kevin, yes they have gotten ride of the electric windscreen to save weight. Still very easy to adjust. They have really gone to town on this new model to save as much weight as possible 25kg from the previous model! You can definitely feel it!
      I think you won't be let down by the handling on the new model, it is fantastic. The only thing I would say is that the engine is not as smooth as the old model, because of the T-Plane crank. Definitely worth having a test ride on one 👍 Yes the QS is adjustable on this also!!

      @@redangrevival wow, what busy day.
      So first I tested the GSA 2 up with my girlfriend. They only has a low seat bike available to test, and it wasn't that comfortable. I tested a GSA a few weeks ago with the stand seat, it was miles better.
      I found riding the bike, really easy. You just feel planted to the road and very secure. My GF found it all very comfortable apart from the wind blast across her shoulders and helmet. We had to stop so she could put ear plugs in!!! (She never uses them). She is used to sitting on my scrambler, so she is very protected from the elements by me 😂.
      The Tiger was very easy to hop on straight away. We test ride the GT Pro. Wind protection was great, and even better than the GS for the pillion. But the seats are not as comfortable. The Tiger is more agile, but not as planted. The engine needs to be worked harder, it's seems a bit dull at the bottom end. I took the tiger out on my own, and the engine is bloody mega when you can use it all, but you can't ride it like that 2 up!!!
      The gearbox and quick shifter is miles better on the Triumph, on another planet in comparison.
      So in summary and it's my opinion. The GS was more fun for me 2 up.. if I was riding solo, it would be very difficult to chose between them.
      The biggest difference for me was the amount of fork dive on the tiger compared with the GS! 2 up my GF kept sliding into me. It did both our heads in after a while
      I think the answer for me, is to buy a GSA that is 2 or 3 years old and save £5k!!!

    Everybody is on about that weight loss... The previous Tiger was just way too heavy and definitely not an offroader for an average Joe. Heh. Yeah, we are spoilt, i agree 😄 In the city the bike is just perfect, absolutely loved it 😍 Just not on the autobahn.. 😵 But maybe they will figure out something. The dealership said they are doing their best to reduce the vibrations on higher speeds 🙂

    Why o why do you bike bloggers ride one handed all the time, waving your left hand all over the place. ?
    Not good riding technique

      I know it is a terrible habit! It can be hard sometimes to talk to a camera without emphasising your point with ones hands!! A bad habit us vloggers must all work on!
