      @@Keybored You should do shorts on instagram or tik tok just comparing a ton. I would do cherry ___ and whatever you are comparing as a 3 way comparison. Love your videos. I am looking for something thats forceful like an MX blue but quieter. Something in between browns and blues. I think kiwis or T1 may be the way to go!

    The tactility test is definitely new to me. -Just wanted to say that spring weight also may affect this test!- However, it is nice to visualize how sharp the tactility is on the individual stems, which is pretty clear here.

    Keybored, Do you have experience swapping springs on the sunflower switch? What spring weight do you prefer? Thank you.
    Do you find the spring on the sunflower 67g too strong? I bought both boba u4t 62g and sunflower switch because of this video. Overall I feel the sunflower switch is superior in build quality (evident when opening and closing the switch). While I like the sound of boba u4t, the sunflower feels more premium to type on (not sure if the spring weight cause the feeling). Now I wondering if I should change the spring of the sunflower to 63.5gram or 65gram durock spring to get the best of both world, maintaining superior housing while lowering spring resistance for more comfortable typing, without feeling cheap like boba u4t.
    PS: sorry I don't mean to offend anyone. I still love the boba u4t and have it in my kbd67 v3 aluminum board. I don't think u4t is cheap, it's just not as premium built as the sunflower...just my honest opinion.

    • @Keybored
      @Keybored  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup! I replaced the sunflower springs with TX 62G Long springs since I do like it a bit lighter as well. I love the switch even more after the mod! Make sure to use the Long version since that makes tactiles more snappy

    Did you experience these switches getting smoother over time? mine were super tactile and were a bit sluggish on the upstroke when I first got them. I didn't notice unless I was typing above 110 wpm, but it felt like the switch just wasn't coming up as fast as it should have. After a few days of use the tactility wasn't fatiguing to type on and the upstroke problem wasn't there anymore.

    • @Keybored
      @Keybored  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! I feel like this phenomenon happens with a lot of switches, especially the hyper tactile ones with a huge bump... the bump and the leaf needs a bit of time to wear in, and afterwards, they do feel like they actuate much better

    Both the boba u4t and sunflowers seem to have long stems. Does this mean I can technically use any of them with cherry profile keycaps without interference? Cause from what some people have suggested, if your switches have long stems there's not going to be any sort of interference on north facing led boards because the switch stem sticks up a little bit when bottomed out and it's not flush with the casing.

    • @Keybored

I actually prefer the sunflower over the Kiwi. The Kiwi has slightly better stem tolerance and does feel a tad bit smoother to me, but the sound is sooo high pitched. The sunflower has better sound characteristics and more personality than the Kiwi I feel. The other side of the argument was that if you do drop halo stems into the kiwi and make "holy kiwis" then that becomes a fairly interesting switch, but that requires much more work and cost. As of today, I would take sunflowers Vs. the Kiwis, unless I needed the kiwis for their look... or really want a smooth tactile with a high pitched sound.
