I have a 2003 Saab 9-3. 173k. Still doesn't use any oil despite everybody telling me there's an oil leak somewhere. You'd never know it by the stick. Occasionally the shifting lever gets stuck. Have to add some coolant here and there but that's an intermittent problem. Sometimes I'll have to do it a lot and sometimes I won't have to do it at all for a period of time. Makes no sense but it was a free car. Acquired during the pandemic from my cousin. Love it. I'd risk taking an hour away to Vermont from New York but I don't think I'd go too, too far That's just me and youve probably done much more to maintain yours than I have been able to afford for mine. Like I haven't changed the plugs since I got it , then it had about 108 k. Still idles fine. Still has that great Saab turbo pickup!
Reading your description of your Saab93 makes me want to have my 9-3 from 2006 back. I decided to sell it in 2022 due to maintenance costs - but I'm a Finnish Saab guy through and through😆
Dude, thanks for sharing these amazing views and experiences! A few years ago, I drove my 2006 Saab Aero 2.8L from San Diego to Madison, WI. It was a blast! I'm back at it again this year. However, this time, I towed my Saab and enjoying the countryside of Wisconsin with no California traffic. Btw, I discovered a Saab shop in Hustisford, WI. Beautiful drive there!
Was looking fwd 2 your roadtrip video, didn't disappoint. I grew up in Calif and lived in Monterey and Oregon, drove those roads many times in all kinds of cars. I actually lived across the road from the entrance to 17-Mile Drive, knew the mgr so got in free anytime I wanted to. Hope u took some pics of your Saab. A longer version of your roadtrip would make great content for YT. Thx 4 sharing - Jerry (Saaber)
Great to see Saab owners out on an awesome road trip! I do a similar drive from SF to Tucson and back for the Gem faire every year, so I know it well. We are lucky to live in such an amazing part of the country with all the west has to offer.
😎👍❤️🇸🇪 Thank you for letting us ride along. Beautiful cars and landscapes. Strange (and sad) how Figgens breaks down like that. Volvo "brick" is a funny name.😂 And cool to see a 9000 Aero, just like mine.
As a Swede I absolutely love to see the Swedish workhorse live on even in the states and the community it has . You should take a vacation trip to Sweden sometime in summer and visit the saab museum etc think you would have enjoyed to see all their prototypes and the models that never got to production too ☀️😎🙏🏻
Is that an after market dash that you have? I'm in the UK, and have a 2006 Aero vert (Limey - one of just 231 left in mainland UK at the last count) and mine is definitely not a digital dash (apart from the SID readout). And wow, 31Mpg. I'm currently at 27.8, but can get to 30.6 on a good motorway run. Ignore my first question. Just saw, 9-5 and it is an upgrade. Phew. Mines a 9-3, and I have no intention of disturbing the dash.
@@AutoAutopsy I did go on to watch that video. I stand by my trying to keep mine as close to original (though I do have some performance upgrades under the hood) as possible. But aesthetically, as close to original as possible. It did strike me that the US 07 fascia was like the 05-06 fascia in the UK.
I was expecting a chorus of Saab horns as you passed my neighborhood (near when you passed under the tram in SW Portland) but I was probably still at the event setup then, so, I’ll pretend.
I don't see the benefit in logging miles in an already old car. I try not to go beyond 25 miles one direction. Just yesterday on the way to work I stop at a C-store start up to leave, move shifter, it's not connected. My 3 yr old bushing wore out. Had to ask a stranger to put pressure on it while i shift it into D. Car is sidelined til a new one arrives. Nice scenery, but puzzled on the decisions. You're friend is going to dump the car and uber to an airport to get home?
Someone please please respond to this comment...lol I recently got a 2008 Saab 9-3 Aero and I can't find parts for it...I live in Hawaii and I'm guessing that's probably why....honestly I love this car and don't want to give it up but I'm stuck because I can't find me a radiator or any basic cosmetic pieces I need to make her look beautiful, can someone please take the time to help me out

Great game tonight.

Yep it’s from the 9-5! Video here, if you’re curious: th-cam.com/video/XssWi8oC6tE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jr-fs9TPhJSgaz4l

The 07+ US have the updated dash and interior, so that mod only works on 03-06! 😁

That tram was super cool
Do you know what the rear bumper on the 93 is at 17:11 and where to get one?
I believe it's just the Hirsch/replica Hirsch diffuser. bumper is OEM

My 07 9-3 does the same thing on a full tank
Time for a new level sender 🙃
Please tell me what code reader you use.
It’s just a generic one. I have a link in this video: th-cam.com/video/OML3fpDz4Jg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qTCtreIhrvaQgFfy
Did you make it back okay?
I did! Video coming on that next weekend

😄🙌🏼
Can't believe your dad sold him a bad engine like that (this is a joke)
230k+ miles!
Worst saab seats ever for a long drive
I didn’t find any issues with them.
🏁🏁🏁📽️👍
