Awesome! I bid on a saab but no go. Ended up buying a 2003 bmw 330i with 50k on odo.....almost flawless. Got it on Bat and the seller was in Scottsdale. Timmy C Arizona
I had a Saab that was almost identical to this one about 18 years ago. The only difference was that mine had a cream-colored interior. The exterior color, model, and trim were all identical to this one. I absolutely loved that car. Unfortunately, in 2012, someone crashed into it (while it was parked) and totaled it. Even though it was totaled, I debated keeping and fixing it; however, with Saab's bankruptcy, it became harder and harder to find replacement parts. I knew I had to let it go.
Parts are still easy to find! No reason to give up! In fact, I just released a video on Saturday discussing all of the parts sources still available: th-cam.com/video/KVyBNxpD9Jk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BdfdEM5Y8YO1PSf9
Saw the car in Portland of course and it did look pretty good! The front lip seems to be a Saab thing because every front lip I’ve ever seen seems to build up these rock chips.
How much orange peel would you say you were left with? Or to what degree? I have my 04 and 08 Aero that desperately need a respray. I'm in Los Angeles which has plenty of paint shops but some are insane with rates like $400 per panel.
It will definitely have orange peel but the results shown in the video speak for themselves. My paint restoration video has additional video shots for more context: th-cam.com/video/8KGD_WGbJuk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=km_-zZpdR6i6-gvB
Not a Saab guy, but I have a 2001 Audi A4 that needs paint BAD. I'm looking at the top paint option with some body work. I was quoted $3000, and after viewing you video, I am going to do it.
Yes. The rear bumper will be a direct swap. The only thing that would concern me personally is the fact the 08+ bumper doesn’t have the black trim, so it won’t match the doors and front bumper

I'd recommend you to try a ceramic coating sometime. Now there are lots of inexpensive, user friendly coatings, I haven't used wax for 3 years now
thanks for the idea - any specific products you recommend?
@@AutoAutopsy I've tried two, gyeon can coat evo (this is better/more durable) and turtle ceramic spray (this is cheaper and easier to use)

they must just be magnets for that kinda stuff

Hope it goes well for you!!
I have an 07 93 do you know if I could put an 08+ aero rear bumper on it and eventually get a Hirsch replica diffuser
