Governance and Administration Select Committee Exchange to Australia 2022

The Australia-NZ Select Committee exchange was established to provide an opportunity for Australia and New Zealand select committees to learn about each other systems in different subject areas to better their scrutiny of current work before a chosen committee.
The Governance and Administration Committee recently visited Sydney and Canberra to understand the Australian Parliament's process for scrutinising Estimates and Annual Reviews. They also explored mechanisms encouraging cooperation among public service departments for better outcomes. They also sought ways for Parliament to collaboratively engage with Ministers and public service chief executives, providing accessible information to the public about their work.
