Assume the boss won't tell you you're entitled to breaks, superannuation or training. That might tell you why food banks and charities are currently being overrun with demand from people, including international students. And God help you if you need medical help, you aren't covered by Medicare so be prepared to pay a large sum for a simple Dr appointment.

Hello, when explaining the course in session, is the "mid semester break" that you said the break time within 1 semester (Like the week between 6th and 7th week) or the break time between semester 1 and semester 2?
Good question. Mid semester break is between 6th &7th week or something similar. The break between semester when a semester end is when you have school holidays. Hope this helps.

Her employer informed her that from 1st July, she can't work more than 40 hours per fortnight. I've also asked an agent but they are also not so sure about the answer. They told me that it was a gray area so they advised me to choose between hospital or aged care sector. One of the agents advise me to give up my work in the hospital and work in the aged sector unlimited.😔

She does a 5-6 hours job occasionally (fortnightly), but she is not drawing money from the company due to the restrictions of working hours. That's a very good question and many students seems to have a similar situation. For now, we honestly don't have an answer for this. You can work unlimited hours in Aged care if you were already working on 9th May 2023. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear something about it.

Ideally, you will need to learn some skills and get jobs with higher pay rates. Lots of jobs in trades pay really well.

You lets know students cannywork midterm break. But i got 1 month uni break for july as my 3rd semester finished june30 and my next semester will start from august. I called uni and ask about working hour and they let me know im allowed full time as i have sem break.
Mid semester break is different than the end of term break. Mid semester break is during the term while you are studying. Usually it is 1 week break.

Interesting question. In Aged care you can work unlimited hours but how it works in other job will be Interesting. I think they can say that you can choose which one to work in.

My daughter is on a student visa 500, and works part time 45 hours fortnightly. However, she got another casual job that is directly aligned with her master's degree study. Hence, can she do around 4-5 hours on weekends without claiming or raising any invoices for that job? This means she will work but not claim any money for it. Please suggest me. Kind Regards.

She does a 5-6 hours job occasionally (fortnightly), but she is not drawing money from the company due to the restrictions of working hours. Once the semester break starts from October last week, she plans to claim money then. Regards.
Hi, im working in Aged care and I’m included for unlimited hours. But i also do have another job in Support worker. Being a support worker has limited hours? Can i continue working support worker too?
That's a very good question and many students seems to have a similar situation. For now, we honestly don't have an answer for this. You can work unlimited hours in Aged care if you were already working on 9th May 2023. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear something about it.
