My 324r , 4 stroke ,just changed the fuel Line once , and still working Perfectly more than 15 years ...Always check the air filter , Grease for the spin head & the gear , used the best fuel ...🙌🥀🐦

sounds like the drive shaft assembly on the attachment is not connected properly from the whirring sound with the head not spinning at full RPM (Revolutions Per Minute)
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE for sure i have a brushcutter with the bike handle type and that was a very similar problem and once i did the right part of it by resurrection no dramas since then
Surprising simple fix; good move to limit diagnostic and retry. Some others would have done so much messing around it would have clouded the cause of the no-start. Trimmer preference straight shaft especially for clearing and heavy duty work; curved shaft for edging and functions requiring angled / sideways usage.
This and ones similar are my favorite machines I've ever used. Love husqvarna. I have curved and straight. I just bought 2 attachments for that pojunk troybilt that I still can't get to run and now its leaking oil. So. Nice to know the ryobi attachments may work for this one too.
The straight shaft makes more sense to me too. I'm not very tall, but it still seems to reach out a little farther, and there is less drag and friction, since there's no cable flexing around inside the shaft. The main difference is, since the straight shaft head is gear driven, the head rotates counter-clockwise. Not a big deal though.
@@roseymalino9855 The clutch is on the engine, and doesn't affect the rotation direction. What does change it is the two bevel gears where the straight drive shaft and the spindle shaft meet. That's what makes the spindle run the opposite direction as the engine/driveshaft on the straight shaft models.
I prefer straight shaft trimmers 100%. I also prefer the split shafts that allow attachments and make it easy to rotate the head so your sling remains functional.
After racing two stroke Motocross bikes in the 70's 80's and 90's if it wont start first place you ALWAYS check is the gas tank then your spark plug if its getting spark or if its got a fouled plug ! Cant believe that you completely overlooked the most common problem with two strokes A FOULED SPARK PLUG
I've replaced the carb,fuel lines,both filters and used a premixed 50:1 gas as that's what's recommended for my cd28. Started up and fine-tuned the carb.ran great for the first tank of gas. Not it won't start at all. Prime it and on about the 8th pull you can see all the gas shoot out of the carb by the butterfly valve. Not sure what else to do?
sounds like it's flooded. Take the plug out, pull the rope several times and the then leave it like that for a day. Next day replace plug and then try staring it, except do no choke it. Squeeze the trigger and pull the rope 10 times and see if it tries to start.
Have the same Trimmer. Checked the spark plug I get a spark, I put a little gas in the cylinder. Still would not fire off. Have the correct plug. Sprayed either in the carb. Still won't try to start. Sprayed Carb cleaner in the carb. Still won't start. Guess the carb needs replacing.
have you done a compression test to make sure the rings aren't worn out? And if you do think you have plenty of compression have you checked the flywheel key for shearing?
Noticed the air filter over the hole in the carburetor has a hole. Seems this will cause the engine to wear quicker I have two of them both burn a hole in the filter. Good for Husqvarna, bad for the consumer! I cut a piece of foam rubber to put over the hole. But still have to keep a check on it.
Probably came apart out of the clutch or midway down the tube where you change attachments. My Echo was speedometer cable drive but straight tube. Don't see how it lasted like it did. The Stihl was solid shaft and straight tube. Don't see how it lasted with the table saw blade either. And I've had curved shaft/tube too and they all did just fine BUT I didn't set out to kill any either! BLESSINGS
no it should not be spinning while not on the throttle. Is the idea speed, a bit fast? if so, try lowering the idle speeds until the trimmer stops spinning

Unfortunately the 128r is a 2cylce engine so it needs 2cycle mixed with the petrol. If ran for a long time then the piston rings and cylinder wall are severely damaged. If you pull the rope slowly is it really easy to pull?
When you pull the rope it feels the same as normal... but it doesn't start? It's only 3 years old with not that much used. Is there any thing I could do to fix it? There's another video on you tube of a guy using wd40 and got the strimmer working again.
Hey inside house garage, i got the exact same model and it ran fine till yesterday and it ran real hard at the customer's property by straight edging, then today it kind of didnt go full speed at the full throttle(and tended to die easily if the trigger wasnt pulled) sounded different from bogging down, so i cleaned the carb today thinking, it was the issue since it hadn't been cleaned, since then it hasn't wanted to start and ive been trying to adjust the carb but having a hard time to get the idle stayed low, high screw, on the other hand, was easier to get to the point once started, sometimes i got it started but thr rev was still higher( head still spinning) and if i tried to adjust by the low screw, i just couldnt get to the right setting.. all i did was the carb cleaned and put it back to try to start.. you think something happened to the carb when running hard on the property?(i switched to the straight edger attachment since its a power head and yesterday wasn't the only day the trimmer was running hard, there's been couple of times i had to use it as a straight edger which gave much more burden and stress to the power head), what else do you think i got to try, before just replacing the carb? I know it's the easiest option and hassle-free but want to do whatever i could do on my end beforehand, any input would be appreciated
It's hard to say why I would be having a hard time after being used as an edger. Do me a favor, can you count how many turns it takes, to bottom out, the L and H screw? if they are unbalanced, say the L screw as 1 turn out, and the H screw was about 2.5 turns out, then there might be an issue with the carb.

Replacing it was a lot harder than the videos though because the lines barely made it through the hole on the fuel tank at the twist and push and twist and push for 45 minutes to get through and I was sure they were the right size

This is one of the few weed eaters where putting a resistor spark makes an absolute difference in running. I have this weed eater and it would not idle and die immediately after throttle release. Good compression (150psi), new carb, new fuel filter, return line, fuel line, air filter, the usual, and it still would only run in half choke and die on run. I thought maybe I got a bad replacement carb so installed another brand new carb and no difference in symptom. Set the carb to factory default (1 to 1 1/2 out on H/L) and it still wouldn't run.I was about to give up and sell it on Craiglist, take the my but after searching countless hours on Google with similar problem, one user stated swapping it with a resistor spark plug fixed it. I swapped out the original Champion spark plug with NGK resistor spark plug and sure enough, now it idles fine and does not shut off on full throttle (carb setting was not changed 1 1/2 CCW H/L). I had many weed eater including multiple Ryobi, Echo, Troy Built, Murry and this is the only one where spark plug makes night or day difference.
I'm 6' and you may want to look at different trimmers. I've owned one of these for 4 or 5 years now and I love it...mostly. I really wish the shaft was another foot longer; it's my only complaint. Most of the time I'm slightly stooped over getting the trimmer head in the right position relative to the ground which gets pretty tiring, and it would make reaching under trees MUCH easier. Given the choice between a straight shaft or a curved trimmer, I will choose straight 10 out of 10 times. Have always preferred them. Don't you just love when the solution is a quick and easy one?! It made me smile just watching this play out. Then the smile went away when the head wasn't turning. That sucked.
Quality is OK but but buttt !!! Husqvarna made all part difference between almust all models...Because they can sell you all expensive parts ! They know you have to BUY when you dont have any chance to find out. Sow NEWER AGAIN...Buy Stihl, its better.. thanks for video.

I've used straight and no problem at all. The curve wares out speed drive cable.

I think you're confusing clutch driven vs direct as relates to head rotation.

Can not get a spark at the spark plug. Have tried different plugs. Still no spark. I assume the coil is broken. Have you done a video replacing it?

Yes that hole seems to be a unplanned issue.

The piston rings might be worn and the Carb seems to be out of tune as well.

Well the gas oil mix is 50:1. The air fuel ratio would probably be on the rich side of 11:1 to keep engine temps down.

Sure.Are you able to adjust the carb? Try turning the carb adjustment screw near the air filter counterclockwise about half a turn.

I've done that it sounds as if it nearly going to start but nothing. There's resistance on the pull rope but it is easy to pull.

There could be a blockage. Did you check both lines to see if they cracked?

unfortunately there isn't a second part. The problem was the drive shaft and center coupling.

That's exactly my problem here: when my trimmer starts it goes well... Until I move the choke lever to run... It dies

Green fuel cap makes it a diesel trimmer. No wonder it failed since somebody has been running it on mixed gas.

Set the carb to factory default (1 to 1 1/2 out on H/L) and it still wouldn't run.I was about to give up and sell it on Craiglist, take the my but after searching countless hours on Google with similar problem, one user stated swapping it with a resistor spark plug fixed it. I swapped out the original Champion spark plug with NGK resistor spark plug and sure enough, now it idles fine and does not shut off on full throttle (carb setting was not changed 1 1/2 CCW H/L). I had many weed eater including multiple Ryobi, Echo, Troy Built, Murry and this is the only one where spark plug makes night or day difference.

I prefer the straight shaft trimmers. I'm 6ft 2in tall, and with the curved shaft designs I have to bend over slightly which is uncomfortable.

I'm 6' and you may want to look at different trimmers. I've owned one of these for 4 or 5 years now and I love it...mostly. I really wish the shaft was another foot longer; it's my only complaint. Most of the time I'm slightly stooped over getting the trimmer head in the right position relative to the ground which gets pretty tiring, and it would make reaching under trees MUCH easier.

Given the choice between a straight shaft or a curved trimmer, I will choose straight 10 out of 10 times. Have always preferred them.
Don't you just love when the solution is a quick and easy one?! It made me smile just watching this play out. Then the smile went away when the head wasn't turning. That sucked.

Quality is OK but but buttt !!! Husqvarna made all part difference between almust all models...Because they can sell you all expensive parts ! They know you have to BUY when you dont have any chance to find out. Sow NEWER AGAIN...Buy Stihl, its better.. thanks for video.
