Thanks for watching. We finally do a full service on this trimmer but we end up finding out someone made a mistake on it. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
You certainly made the right choice with minimal investment. Nice work, again!!!
I appreciate that
This is the best Husqvarna Trimmer video I have seen!! 😀Thanks! Very Helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Husqvarna left a bad taste in my mouth. Buddy of mine got one and I liked it. I decided to upgrade to the one he got. We both bought them at a Lowes. Few months later his pull rope assembly broke and came all to pieces. He contacted the company, and they sent him to a local dealer. Dealer refused to warranty repair it because "he didn't sell it". I guess the store didn't like that it was gotten from a big box store and not him. So, my buddy called the company back and explained it and asked for the part to be sent to him. They refused. It had to go through the dealer and the dealer wouldn't service him. Few months after that mine had the coil go bad. Exact same story. The next nearest dealer was hours away. The coil was nearly 2/3 the cost of the trimmer. So, I threw it away and got an echo srm-225 and I can't seem to wear that thing out.
wow , that would leave a bad taste in anyone's mind
I got treated in a similar manner on a used stihl chainsaw I brought to my local stihl dealer. To me, they were only concerned about the equipment they originally sold and for businesses that use them through a contract. I received horrible customer service. The company might be a good company but there local dealers definitely have much room for improvement.
I love it😊
And I'm sorry about the spring flying out
thank you I appreciate it
For two bucks and a bit of time, to end up with a good working/running trimmer was well worth it. Seriously considering selling my curved shaft trimmer and replacing it with a straight shaft trimmer.
depending on your height, it might make sense to.
I have the exact same Trimmer. Had running issues for 2 years then bought a $20 carb kit and has run like a top since.
Great video, I have that exact trimmer that I got new at Lowes several years ago, the fuel filter in the tank fell off the fuel line so the screen in the carb got plugged up on mine. Cleaned the screen and it's been running great ever since.
very nice work getting going again
I have an old McCOLLUCH chainsaw that i was able to get running again but wasn't able to use it when he had a tornado come through here in southern Ohio early Tuesday morning. Helped cut a couple of trees out of road
glad to see it was still useful
Nice work fixing this one 👍
thanks!
I love your videos. I have a still wipper snipper that had a broken choke lever and it was bogging down
thanks and I would consider replacing the carb. As for the lever, that's a harder fix
Thanks
You're Welcome
I always think it's a good idea to save a piece of equipment thank you for the video
It sure is
TY for Sharing
thank you!
Great job
thanks
Yes. You did the right thing..
thanks
Wow I just found a 323e edger someone threw out. Why do you not like these Husqvarnas.
Curious to know as well
I never said I didn't like them? Why do you think I don't like them?
@@HomeGaragechannel th-cam.com/users/shortsH2Pl1pQxp_Y?si=UI4getmW2XRi41aN. This is one of your shorts. I was wondering why you said what you said.
You have just answered my solution to their question.
He never said he didn’t like them. We’ve all been given a great tutorial on how to fix them.
I picked up two of these at a local landfill for free. One i replaced the carb and the other i just serviced that carb. Both run good as new with dny attachments i use. 128LD is as tough as the old slant six used by Chrysler back in the day.
when these are running well, they're great machines
Good video mate... I have one of these somewhere to do.. you just reminded me lol
I think we all have that project somewhere too
I hate doing recoils and dealing with those springs. I have done it enough now that I normally get it on the first try, but when I was first starting I had quite a few jump-scares. Lets just say those springs are also quite sharp on some things and can slice into your hand quite easily.
I hear ya, not my favorite either
I had one of those but it beared the Craftsman brand ( Husqvarna made ) and I can tell you this: they're strong and reliable... The other thing I did in it was clean the air filter with BRAKE CLEANER and surprisingly it cleaned all dirt and left it like new
I like the break cleaner idea
All I'd have done was leaned out the hi speed a little and ran it but that was me and hope I'd done a better job installing a kit as whoever did. I never pulled a rope all the way out anyway. and very rarely ran one wide open. Happy weekend!
to be honest, I rarely run my at full speed either, but it's the thought that counts
@@HomeGaragechannel There you go! It's nice to be able to get there IF you run into some really heavy stuff.
For the money you spent on it, I say it was worth it.
thanks!
yes for sure and no time wasted on that task for sure.
agreed
I went karting recently, also a two stroke. As I was nearing the end of the straight just about 100rpm off the limiter it would die out, ended up being a bad diaphragm. Lucky I had a spare with me
yes that was very lucky of you
@@HomeGaragechannel would running a 2 stroke constantly with a bad diaphragm end up damaging it? Because of it reducing the fuel?
Do you have a link where you buy the carb gasket kits, purge bulbs and fuel lines in bulk?
in bulk, no I don't, not too many people are interested in buying $20, in purge bulbs, and $50 in fuel lines.
Good video. I found that mixingy own fuel wit 88 octane gas helped the degradation of the fuel lines. I admit, I didn?'t empty the has tank for winter. I now use the Husqvarna canned 95 octane fuel. I empty the fuel tank when not using for more than a week. Once
I replaced all the parts, the trimner works great. Great machine.
Great point!
i heard you say something in this video that made me think for a minute, when the trimmer is running, should the head spin or not, and if it does, is that a problem, because i never played around with those screws on my trimmer from the time i bought it new, like 5 years ago, what should i do ....?......good job as usual ....
on this type of trimmer, the head should not be spinning. If it is then try turning the idle set screw
Keep it😊
wish I could
Hi, i have a YardKing 4 stroke with 2 valves BUT have a reed at bottom of crankcase? where it joins the sump. Reed direction is downwards to release pressure from crankcase into sump?
Its a 24cc but it has a oil pressure system as no swishes, just a oil pick up hose in sump. It has a breather nipple on side straight through to bore about half way down and pumps air outwards as piston goes up and down. so what is reed for? Is it to release over pressure if breather becomes blocked?. I guessing the sump gasses would go up side through a special channel to rockers cover and out that hose there that normally draws air in? The sump is other side sealed so gasses let down into has to go somewhere?
because it's a 4 stroke, the reed is part of the emission control system
No top end speed 😮 well at least you got the skills to get it fixed up and running properly 😊
Tell me about it
@@HomeGaragechannel 👍✌️
Hey man, I recently got a new Husqvarna weed eater (curve shaft) and I was wondering, I’ve seen some videos of the trimmers you fix, the string on the head smacks the guard sometimes and I just wanted to know if it was ok if this happens. Or if it only hits the guard while slowing down (like in the video)
so this is not okay, it means you need to replace the trimmer line, with a new one. Besides, it'll mean you won't be able to keep a good straight line when trimming with it. I did end up replacing the line later on, before I gave it back to them.
@@HomeGaragechannel ok. Thanks for the info!!! Anyways, how’s your day been?
just a quick question,do you by chance know if a feather lite weed eater has a threaded shaft or not?
what part of the shaft are you asking about? The upper parts just slips into the housing and uses a single bolt to hold it and the other end depends on if you have a curved or straight shaft.
@@HomeGaragechannel the crank shaft I think I have a curved shaft because it is straight then turns down the the ground
Could I use 550 paracord as a pull cord?
in a pinch you sure could. Long term, not sure though.
I actually have the exact same weed eater, I waited so long for the new diaphragm to come in the mail and when I was just getting started the starter pawl bridge stripped the threads connecting it to the crankshaft so now it just spins without moving the engine.
I really have no idea how I'm going to fix this because I can't find the part.😭
weld it.
What’s the size of the fuel lines????.??.??
3/16"
Just picked up 9 commercial weedeaters, and 2 commercial backpack blowers for a total of $200
Worth it?
depending on the condition of the machines, they could be?
@@HomeGaragechannel Pretty bad shape ended up cleaning them, they somewhat look better now. 4 of them actually worked a Shindaiwa Hedge Trimmer, Sthil FS91R, A Echo edger and a Stihl FS56RC.
I just got a new Husqvarna weed eater and the head broke off after one use, the upper part of the head broke that allows you to get more string out so now i had to manually get more string out and i was weed eating today and it finally broke completely, and i have no money to buy a new head
man that sucks!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Where do you get your zero ethanol gas I really need some🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 2:24
there are several fuel stations around town, that offer no ethanol fuel. The one I use is a Philips 66 station. Your state may not offer it though.
@@HomeGaragechannel I’m in Canada
The guy I buy mowers from to repair must have had 30 of them hanging on the wall. He always kept trying to sell them to me. No one wanted them he finally tossed them
I hear that, I have a couple and I know they're a hard sell.
I feel like all the plastic on the trimmer makes it a pain in the but to work on beacause you would have to remove so much of it to access certain parts
that is a great point
I replaced both fuel lines all filters and carb. I turned both screws clockwise just snug then counter clockwise 3 turns..then clockwise 1/2 turn and did half turn back to the beginning. Can get the machine to run at all on idle only 1/2 choke? I’ll shorten fuel lines as they are maybe 3/4 inch long and give it another go. Is that small reducer on the return necessary. I do have one on but was thinking of taking it off as well. Thanks
no problem and no the reducer it not needed. In fact, nothing happens with the return line while the engine is running, only when pressing the purge bulb
@@HomeGaragechannel got it running quite well. From clockwise snug 1 1/4 for both to the left and zoom…amazing that 1 1/2 didn’t fire
I have a chainsaw that needs work done can i send it to you to make a video on 😂?
unfortunately I'm not set up to take in any work.
@HomeGaragechannel not a problem
