I will say the powerline 880 is the most accurate rifle up to 20yrds that I've ever seen from Daisy. I worked for them in a little town in southwest missouri. I bought my daughter one 2yrs ago fro her birthday and I'm going to buy me one as well. Great Video :)
@@pascualvillasenor1784 The Red Ryder is excellent for controlling a gecko infestation. I mounted a Gamo red laser sight on my Red Ryder and go out at night to take out some geckos, and it works great at 15 feet or less.
Ive had the Daisy 880 since 2001, the stock broke off so my dad and I built a new stock for it. Never had my daisy 880 rifle fail, Ive taken rats the size of carry size chihuahuas with it. My red ryder was no better than my daisy buck, a spring powered bb rifle is only capable of doing so much. I tried to hunt jackrabbits with my daisy buck with no success.
I have both of these guns to! I just got the 880 today! And i have had the red rider for a little over a week but as a 10 year old i can see through the scope really good and i might be getting a new scope soon but all in all they both are very good guns and i reccomend them
Glad you like them! I don’t prefer the scope but you do you, a better scope would be nice, but both of them are good guns, the red Ryder is a classic, and then the daisy is a little bit of an upgrade
A pellet rifle vs a bb gun is not exactly apples to apples. That said I will take the RR just because it is an absolute classic every kid should have. No nostalgia over the Daisy.

I had a 880 for 6 or seven years and the airbag just popped so we got rid of it and my brother got a red Ryder for Christmas last year and its already falling apart
I have used both very much for hunting and target shooting but with the Red rider you need a head shot to kill a chipmunk but with a daisy if you put 10 pumps it is very effective for chipmunks especially with pellets

try not to use bbs in your 880 it messes up the rifling in the gun after a couple 1000 shots pellets only is the way to go you can get a daisy model 35 if you want to shoot bbs and pellets because it hasa smooth bore barrel it's the very same thing as a 880 inside but the 35 has a shorter profile and a smooth bore barrel plus since the pump stroke is half as long and inside it is a 880 it wont hurt it at all to pump it 20 times see 20pumps on a 35 daisy is the same as 10pumps on a 880 daisy i build air rifles have for over 45 years so trust me when i say something i know
The ryders are so fun. With the power line I’ve killed three squirrels as a rabbit and 25 yards. The squirrels didn’t go down in one shot but I head shot the rabbit and he didn’t stand a chance
Practice shooting from a standing position. Learn the trigger pull and release point. After some practice you'll be nailing anything out to 25 yards with pellets in the 880. You don't have to pump it ten times. That rifle is dead accurate with 6 to 8 pumps depending on distance. I usually use 6 pumps out to 25 yards and 8 pumps out to 35 yards. For 50 yards, which is really the outermost limit of the 880 for hitting anything, then use ten pumps. Don't use a rest, in the real world of hunting squirrels, you need to be accurate in a standing position.
It is perfectly fine for a 13 year old. I probably had it since I was 7 or 8. They are very quiet, easy to use, and there is no recoil. Would recommend 👍
Very good question and I forgot to even try it out in the video, I would assume that is would still be more accurate because they would be flying faster, but it wouldn’t be as accurate as a pellet. So I think it would shoot bbs much better just because of how fast it shoots. Thanks for watching! 👍

Not really a good comparison vid. Just for the fact that the 880 is way more powerful there for more accurate. Still a good vid. My first begun was the daisy 880 carbine. Did not come with scope like more do today. Killed animals with the 880. Alot of birds squirrel even rabbit. And them nasty rats. I love killing them ughh. But I got a bunch of break barrels now so they don't stand a chance. Keep on recording bro.

The scope that came with my 880 I can get it to hit exactly pin point just gotta tweak with it

Yeh. Power lines are way more powerful than the red Ryder. I’d say red ryders are more fun to shoot because you can shoot a lot quicker

The 880 is more accurate and fast, 2 pumps of the 880 is equivalent to the red ryders single action.
i have an original powerline from the 90s and it still shoots hard enough to kill a rabbit
Looking for more info on red Ryder bb gun model 19988 which includes a compass and sundial in stock of gun directions say nothing bought this feature
