- In this video I will be installing the main water line to the house form the well. I will be installing the pressure tank in the garage and connecting the water and power lines to the well. The well pressure tank installation shows the steps you'll need for replacing or installing a new pressure tank. Be sure to follow the proper requirements listed. Make sure that all local regulations are followed, and make sure to have all mechanical and electrical inspection performed.

Good work! Other than the valve between the pressure switch and the pump. That may cause issues if the pump is on and the pressure switch doesn't cut out when the valve is closed.

Water Worker Pressure tank - Classic Home Depot - Cheaper than most and it works. I used this on my own home last year. It was about half the cost of others. EZ install. Replaced pressure valve and gauge too while at it. Cake.

And here I was thinking I needed to build a well house for the well on the land I'm about to buy. Putting it in the garage is much better. I hate working on the 7 house shared well out in the sun when it breaks. Plus less chance of pipes breaking. My current well has a huge storage tank. I'm planning on getting about 200 gallon tank so I can use a Brumby pump to send the water to the tank before pulling it out of the storage tank to go to the pressure tank.
If your code requires it I get why you put the check valve near the tank. The peeps that write code love water hammer and air blowout at faucets. If your code doesnt require it, you are only asking for problems with check valves anywhere after the top of the wet end of the pump.
A shut off valve with a replaceable filter is also a nice feature. One can shut off valve, replace filter, then turn valve back on. Is the tank area going to be enclosed and well insulated/heated to prevent freezing ?
Great stuff man just saw the series on that but you never explained anything about air pressure in the tank. That’s the one reason why I watched them.
Mr. Daniel Woodell, let's see if I understand the electrical as you described it. From the main power box breaker to the pressure switch and then into the control box (L1 & L2) and then into the well pump from the last three R, Y & B. Of course the grounds I'm just not mentioning.

As for the fray in the wire, I'm pretty sure 3-4 wraps of super 88 counts as new insulation. At least in Wisconsin...

can you explain about how you bypass the other side with a plug- doesn't the flow of the pressure tank need to go out the other way or can it also put pressure back the other way?? how is that not an issue though with the pressure tank not putting pressure into the well line?

Nice work! Hoping to move my current press tank water heater etc from my bathroom to a new location and bring in a new connection of water pipe from the well. Would like to build a series of fitting and valves (manifold?) to take that supply main and bring it to press tank and then feed the 3/4” lines in the house as well as 2-1” pipes going to yard hydrants approx 400’ away each outside. I’d like to use Uponor whenever possible if it’s smart and mount all the valves and fittings on the wall where possible. Hoping to find a local contractor or someone to help me lay it out so we can get it in place and ready before we disconnect the water supply we use now. Hoping to do most of this stuff myself but need some guidance so I don’t screw it up. Appreciate the video tutorials!

Great video. Quick question. My well is about 250-300' from my house and next to the well head I have buried a 1725 gallon cistern. The water from the cistern gets fed into a 1500 gallon cement tank where all my pumps will go. My question is, should I also install the pressure tank in the cement tank or just pump the water from the cement tank via 1" pex to the basement in the house and put the pressure tank there? Your advice would be much appreciated.
Good video. I watched to see the wiring. We use 10gauge wire, but 20 amp breakers because of voltage drop, presumably?

Hi Daniel - Can I ask what size and type hose you ran from the well to the house pressure tank? I am in the process and I am told 1 inch tube but wonder if 1 1/4 is better. Well will be 450 feet deep and about 90 feet to house. What size pump did you put in the well? exampe 3/4 HP

Question. So is it possible for the pressure tank to be on top of the pump? Its screws and it's only about 10 gal. Is this the same or would I have to get a big one like you have? Thanks.
What sort of pipe is used between the well and the house? My well uses some sort of paper thin PVC pipe which I'm thinking might be part of the problem I'm having.

Y would I need a filter, on average it takes 15 years for water to filter 200’ down to where the pump is in the ground and the ground is the best filter ever created. It is very uncommon to have a filter in the system in the western United States.
Don’t know about out West but here in the Southeast we need to use sediment filters to catch the fine stuff that inevitably finds its way into faucet aerators, toilet fill valves etc...In some cases it’s bad enough to necessitate the use of ‘spin down’ type sediment filters followed by standard whole house cartridge style filters.

If you need those things yes it better, you can do ruff in plumbing and electrical to suit yours pacific needs.

The first joint out of the wall is 2 inches. If that fails you've given the customer nothing to work with. They are going to have to cut into the wall to replace.
Well in this case the customer is my mother-in-law so if it fails I’ll be the one over there fixing it. Also the likelihood of pecks a feeling is extremely low solo in fact that it’s not even something I consider. And unfortunately due to the circumstances it wasn’t many other options.
Where do you get water? How will you heat the water?
Water is pulled from the ground through a well. It’s run though a water heater
the wire doesn't need pipe underground ?
I believe it's a direct burial wire, you can use a schedule 40 conduit pipe for extra protection. I'll do it personally.
Where's the filter?
It very rare for a filter to be needed on a deep well in western Washington. For that matter, any deep well.
