  • One of the most essential parts of a modern house is running water. It has been a huge effort to get this far. A professional could probably have done all this in a day. But that doesn't matter. We have water now.
    Break Heart Orchard is a small farm that we are carving out of previously forested land.
    We will be putting out videos on a weekly basis to document this journey as we build our own home and create our dream farm and Orchard Cidery. Check out our other videos and subscribe, to follow along on this adventure

    Well Done. Just clip the extra switch wire and nut it off, it'll be fine. I like to use tape over the wire nuts.

      I have become a fan of the Mastic tape. It is a bit more expensive but it really sticks.

    yaaaoooooooooo isn't that the greatest feeling ever when you finally see this earth and the water that will give back life to everything.!!!!!!!!!! So excited for you and I was thinking you were going to open all the lines and once and blow all the air out of the lines at once! So happy for you guys, it is getting there and boy you are closer and closer and you have got it going on........things are narrowing down for you and the weather will get nice and you will be spinning staying busy. Congrats on the water and all the rest is on the way to being the next few big steps. Proud of you and your tenacity and having one of the best helpers ever. You two are quite the team! God bless and keep you safe as you start into the rest of your dream coming to reality .......soon!!!!!!!

      Thank You. It is such an absolutely essential element to a home. I feel silly for being so excited but I know that is only because we are so very fortunate to live in a modern time when running water is common place and we are able to take it for granted. So many aspects of this build have been educational in this respect. showing us how much we never noticed about our very fortunate and complicated lives.

      What a simple thing. But such a big big deal. Hard to imagine what life was like 200 years ago. We have a stream. We have a few springs on the property. The pond is man made. When you think about how hard it would have been to deal with water needs before electricity and combustion engines it really is amazing.

    You might need a switch at the well to turn off the pump. Safety, so you do not have to run back to the house. Great work.

      There was a nagging concern that Inhad made a mistake with the wiring. One wire in particular, gave me some trouble.
      And that was the first break that I have ever wired. So when I flipped that switch and the manifold shook, I was pleased.

    That’s a it’s for me. The pressure tank actually looks like an expansion tank I didn’t know they made them that small. Nor have I ever seen anyone install the tank and pressure switch inside the house.. Don’t know how much experience you have with wells but I believe 60 psi is pretty high most pressure switches are designed to shut the pump off At about 30 to 40 psi... I’m not saying there is anything wrong because I don’t know for sure but it might be worth your time to check out what I said. Oh and the pressure switch is adjustable or it should be

    • @breakheartorchard4761
      @breakheartorchard4761  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great question, and I actually made a detailed explanation for a previous video but I edited it out because I didn't feel my explanation was accurate and clear. I have a constant pressure system using a Cyclestop valve. That eliminates the conventional pressure tank and uses the cyclestop valve to control and limit the water pressure. The pressure switch is tuned for 50-70 psi and the cyclestop valve is set for 60 psi constant operating pressure. I worked with the folks at Cyclestop to design this system specifically for my pump size, well depth, hose size and length, drop from well head to house, and projected usuage. I also worked with the pump vendor to make sure I had a properly sized and powered pump for my well depth, refresh rate, and desired output. there is always a downside, and mine is that there is no reserve water available in a power outage.

      I was thinking the same question about having the tank inside. Good answer and well planned. And you do see large hot water heater tanks inside - usually in the garage or attic. Could you add a large tank for storage? Would you have to drain and air pressurize them together?
