I’ve found trucking depots supremely helpful. I usually try for them to be within range of at least 2 cities. For example I’ll send a loaded tanker truck (semi version) to the depot from the refinery, where smaller delivery tank trucks will pick up and take it into their designated cities. It costs more to start up but it also adds another drivers point you get paid for. Also keeps your city delivery trucks out of factory traffic
I'm looking forward to watching this series, but I have a question. When you are setting up your first line, you manually space out your vehicles. Why didn't you just set up the first stop to be Wait Until Full and set maximum wait to forever? And what's the point of setting minimum wait time to anything greater than 0?
I'm not sure why I set a minimum tbh 😅. But manually spacing is still useful as you want trucks making money asap, every second sat waiting for goods they're costing you money, so to begin with when money is tight you want vehicles making profit straight away, or at least carrying cargo asap.
Looking to learn about the Mainline , why did you not use a truck stop at the farm each one can handle at least a rate of 800 (prob 1000) this would have saved some expense as you would have only needed one platform at the Farm Truck station ?
I've always thought truck stops were just for dropping off. But also I like to have somewhere for trucks to turn around, rather than doing that u-turn at the end of the road, so would've probably still built a road loop 😅
