Being an XC racer I would never add this much tape to my rim. I have to spend a mint to build a light bike so every gram has to be considered. One loop around with the wide tape and call it a day, I've never had any issues related to tape leaks. But yeah, your tape job looks bombproof! Nice job.

We absolutely get that mentality and one, bomber pass of tape can also absolutely work and provide a great seal.
