    I remember back in the day when you had 578 subs. Happy for your well deserved success.

    Great video as always. A$120 per head for that quality is not at all expensive compared to Australian prices for quality like this.

    That mushroom and braised tofu dish looks a bit like Hong Shao Kao Fu/Braised Wheat Gluten with Mushrooms. Was the sauce a little sweet?
    If it is that, it's a Shanghainese dish and one of my favorites with a bunch of NYC places making terrific versions (in Queens primarily.)

    Guangzhou has the same or higher quality Cantonese food for about 1/2 the price. Once the border opens, you could explore Shenzhen or Guangzhou for daytrips. The seafood in Huizhou is also top notch and very cheap.

      Have you tried Chairman?

    • @TheSingularity8
      @TheSingularity8 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@worldsbestseafood4784 Nope, but I've been to Michelin three star Cantonese restaurant in Macau called The 8. It was good but not better than top Cantonese restaurants in Guangdong province. Mainland Chinese restaurants are typically not listed in the guides or rankings. In my opinion, any major city in China has dozens of restaurants which are at the Michelin star level.

      I agree that the best chefs in Hong Kong and Guangzhou rival each other, but in fairness, HK prices are much higher because HK is one of the world's most expensive cities in the world to live in. The rent/lease is going to be a killer in any halfway decent location.

    Been watching this channel for a while but I'm unsure if he was living in Hong Kong or he just flew in for dinner. I'm a decent human being and I like to think I'm a nice guy but I watch these kinds of things and I make $13.50 an hour. I'm 39 yrs old. I've been employed at my job for almost 10 years and been full time the entire time. I just lost my health insurance because I was in the hospital so much last year I didn't qualify for the minimum hours to get health coverage. To be able to fly into a city for dinner much less hong kong seems like a fantasy story. AMERICA F*** YEAH! No. No. It's more like AMERICA, I'M BELOW THE POVERTY LINE!! 👍

    Hopefully with the exodus of Hong Kong people to the UK they will bring some excellent Cantonese chefs to the UK.

    Some people there would invest in a Rolex before buying underwear.
