I have taken many Everglades canoe/kayak trips and the bugs can be heavy or nonexistent depending on wind and weather. I would prepare for my trip by making a set of "bug clothes". First find a pair of thin loose fitting army type pants with ankle draw strings and a long sleeve T-shirt and heavily spray then with DEET bug spray. Then roll them up and seal them in a plastic garbage bag and let them "marinate" for about a week. When at camp put them on and you will likely not need to apply any spray on your skin. Reseal them when departing in the morning and these clothes will keep you bug free for a week or more!

Oh I'm not sure! I think the rangers said there were both crocs and alligators in the park. We didn't get close enough for Ben to ID with his Seek app .. which I wasn't mad about 😅
What a wonderful adventure you guys have. But why do y'all have such terrible paddles? I'd suggest you guys to do your research, measurements, calculations and make your own canoe paddle. Trust me that'll make a huge difference and will make your paddling adventures way more enjoyable. Y'all will be more productive in the water with proper paddles. I promise you
