    I had one of the cabrio washers not my favorite. It had a bad lid switch, luckily found it used. Left a little bit of a profit at the end was glad to get rid of it.

      There's usually a small sensor harness inside the unit that connects the wire harness to the sensor bars. They use some capacitors/resistors that can go bad from time to time. I'd check that out to see.

      Was the new washer hub gear plastic? There is an upgrade to a revised metal hub kit on some Cabrio models. Cost more but last longer. If you have that model and chose the plastic one instead of the metal one. Then it may be the shaft splines were to damaged due to rust , age, and poor design . Which would quickly wear out that new plastic hub. Your problem would return. W10324651 is the new revised hub kit to replace W10528947. There are several Maytag and whirlpool washers that this type hub revision will work on. Your comment is 2 yrs old so I'm obviously to late for you but perhaps others will see and benefit. 😅

      Sounds like there may be a tub obstruction that's not letting the washer get up to speed for the final high-RPM spin. I hate to say take the drum out but... take the drum out and look for obstructions in between the plastic outer tub and metal inner tub. But before that - I'd check underneath the washer and see if maybe somethings' rubbing on the motor.

    Dryer powers up but will not start. I removed the thermal fuse, but the appliance store verified it's good. I have since gone through your recommended diagnostics. On my Cabrio dryer, I have no code display - just LED lights for each of the settings on the main panel. When I run through the diagnostics as you recommend (buttons 1,2,3 x 3 times) the "wet" LED blinks. I can find NO reference to what that means in my manual or online. Note: I hear a faint "click" when I hit the start button - is this an indication there's a problem with the relay/board?

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the console for the schematics/manual. The key would be to make sure you have the technicians manual to confirm the 1-2-3 sequence is right for your specific dryer (Whirlpool is notorious for having 2 or 3 styles of diagnostic cadences on these units). Once you get that sheet, it SHOULD show you what the wet light is for. It does sound like a board issue / F1 code, but the sheet would help confirm that. On the board - usually if its bad on a dryer, you can remove the board and then take the plastic housing off the back. Many times, when you separate the board from the housing, you'll see a damaged/burnt relay spot which would confirm a bad board.

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@user_namehereI would check the control board on the unit. Unplug it, take the top off, and look at the control board (plastic box). Unplug everything, take control board out of unit and then take the board out of the plastic housing. F1 codes on Cabrio or Duet dryers indicates that the Omron relay got destroyed, which would prevent it from running properly. This can be easily verified for looking for burned spots on the board.

    • @xxlpatriot3077
      @xxlpatriot3077 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, it was the thermal fuse. Cost $5 on Amazon and took approximately 10 minutes to fix-9.5 minutes to tear the machine down far enough to reach the fuse. It’s located on the right side in the front of machine under drum. Take control panel off, lay on its back, remove top, and front panel and door. Fuse sits in a white plastic air duct housing. Don’t forget to plug your door switch/light harness back in upon reassembly. I did and got to do it over again.

    When I press start on my washer it locks and start to full but three seconds after it stop and unlocks. It don't do anything else from there, and before it was washing but it wouldn't release the softer, or spin dry. What can possibly be wrong?

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would reset the unit (unplug it, give it like 15min to drain the capacitors and such). Plug it back in. Give it maybe 1 minute to boot up. From there, let it start and run for 15min. Some washers like this lock/unlock, then continue on the process to run things for a wash. There's usually a checklist on the system like:
      - Does lid lock work?
      - Does drain pump work?
      - Does water valve work?
      - Can basket spin freely?
      If it passes those tests, it begins to sense the load (if auto-sensing) and begin the process of washing. If it fails a test, it usually kicks itself out of doing anything else. From there, you can usually put it in diagnostics to see what code is preventing it from running any further.

    I’m literally at a lost , I for one absolutely hate this washer I have . I did what you said to my platinum washer but it did not do anything to reset it whatsoever . I do however have an issue with it when it reaches the spin cycle or constantly says UL across it , I’ve tilted the washer back and the bottom of the motor that makes it spin has left rust on my floor , it’s constantly off balance even when I’ve tried to run a simple small blanket :/ I just need some answers and help !

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the motor underneath is rusty, its likely its going bad, causing the unbalanced error codes. There should not be any rust or discoloration underneath, and if there's a sizable presence, it'd suggest somethings major wrong with the motor or associated components.

    My cabrio dryer keep blowing off the fuse. In one year it blew off 4 times. 3 times in my old house and we just moved to new house 2 months ago and it happened again. Can you tell me what might be the problem?

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would make sure the inside of the dryer is VERY CLEAN. Cabrio dryers have a terrible tendency to get impacted with dirt and derbis which can stiffle heat moving out of the dryer, causing it to build up and trip the fuse. The same thing goes for your vents in the house... Make sure they are cleaned very well. Next, I would maybe look at replacing the thermostat and hi-limit cutoff to ensure its moderating temperatures properly if you trip any more fuses AFTER you clean out the whole unit really, really well.

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      DL is an unbalance code i believe. SD is a long drain code. Your drain pump has an obstruction, or is too far in the sandpiper. Press the wash basket down far then release quickly. If the washer basket comes back and bobbles a little bit like a basket ball, the rods are bad. If it snaps back quickly and doesn't rebound at all, the rods are good and you may need to look at the washer being overloaded.

      @@yvonnecortez9595 a failed bearing is one of those "just junk it" fixes. Most techs will charge you $400+
      However, it's a DIYers dream. The bearings are wildly cheap. Like $40-50. It's just a very time consuming fix. Done right, the new bearings will run 10 years before another failure.

      Did it give you any sort of error code when you put it into diagnostics?
