@@somedude4087 Yeah 2CP was bad but they really did build the game around that gamemode and those maps, at least at the start. They should really remaster the maps, either figure out an alternate way to make 2CP work or adapt them into other gamemodes so we can experience them again
While I understand 2CP being removed, I’d like for them to rework the maps into other game modes like hybrid or escort. Yet at the same time keeping the old versions available in custom modes like they are now.
Prior to flashpoint coming out I mentioned that they should add a new game mode thats a 3cp "domination" mode and rework the 2cp maps to add a 3rd point. all the 2cps are essentially an L shape, so if they opened up the area in between the attacker first spawn and 2nd point they could add a third point. anyways at this point I think they still do that but make it a flashpoint.
I miss 2CP. But I'm also not in the ranks where the problems are evident. I felt that sometimes they were hard, sometimes a steamroller. But the majority of the time found them fun, and fun is what it is about.
Ive had that bug in comp multiple times now, its not just custom. Most of the time its just the sliding and I feel like im lagging though but I have good frames and like 30 ping.
Haven't had it in comp, but I did have it in the Demon Lord mode last season. Though I guess that was technically just a custom workshop game made official
@@_MoralleThe “sliding” bug is caused by a server-client state desync where the client believes it is unable to move, but the server correctly asserts the client can. The client can get into this state if the player is hit with two consecutive status effects within about 1 second that knock the player down (e.g. Sleep, Shatter, countercharge etc). The result is that the client no longer tries to predict player movement, thus making movement feel sluggish. The reason it happened a lot in Demon Lord is because I was recreating 360 shatter with Workshop, and while I tried to avoid knocking down people who were hit by Shatter, it didn’t work every time due to uneven terrain and such.
At 6:02 the reason for the sliding is bc of a custom game bug, where if you get hard cc'd multiple times in quick succession you start sliding. being unable to crouch and the jump staggers a bit on land. You have to swaps to fix it.
I love 2CP maps even if it was always a pain to play on them. I just genuinely liked the experience even if I hard lost especially if, right after it, I'd get a great map that I really love like King's Row or Eichenwalde. Since the switch to OW2 I just don't feel as excited when I get those 2 maps anymore even though I love them. Getting one of them after a push map doesn't feel the same and it's probably because, despite how much of a pain 2CP maps can be, I actually had fun on them whereas with push I just really fucking hate the experience and after a really bad loss on push it makes me not even want to play anymore unlike with 2CP. Honestly, I think when I just wanted to have a chill day and have some fun in quick play 2CP maps were always my favorite ones to get and that might be why I like them so much. I'd never really get angry playing on them even when we were getting rolled. Push always makes me angry tho and I hate that game mode with a passion. I literally can't play on those maps when I'm trying to just have fun bc they're honestly not fun in the slightest and just make me frustrated

the 4v4 was an interesting idea. what about a 5v5 but make it 2-2-1, bring a tank back because of their sustainability and make them less of a solitary target and with the support power creep they'd only need a little boost in numbers to be able to solo heal
Solo support would be terrible, it would just become a minigame of who could pick off the support first. Solo DPS would honestly make for the most interesting gameplay, but there are (at least were) way too many DPS players to cater too, it would ruin the queue times.

I agree it would be interesting to see how 2CP would play out in a 1-2-2 role queue format. Though I do enjoy the Arcade open queue version of it as well.
Exactly, 6v6 in ow2 is currently unintended and unbalanced. There's no point of trying 6v6 in any maps in ow2. The biggest problem in deleted 2CP maps like Lunar and Paris back in ow1 was that the map was too small for 12 players. So it led to too much staggering on 2nd point without winning a fight and still draw at the end of the game. What we really want to see is if having one less tank resolves the stagger and lowers the draw rate.
2CP being removed from comp was fine but they should have left it in quickplay. The point of quickplay is to have fun, not be comp light. I maintain they should have given quickplay a browser similar to TF2 where you can pick which gamemodes you want to queue for, instead of separating it into role-queue and non-role-queue, and they should have an entirely different matchmaking algorithm or just not have one at all instead of using the same one between comp and quickplay. 2CP's removal is ironic to me as someone who's played Team Fortress 2 off and on since release. In TF2, about half the content in the game is capturing control points (cp_dustbowl, cp_granary, cp_process_final, etc.) and yet on a personal level it isn't nearly as stale as the design comes off. While frustrating at times, Overwatch's 2CP was a heavy nostalgic note and one of the few enjoyable gamemodes in the rotation at the time (except Paris, fuck Paris. All my homies hate Paris). There was something so hype about touching the point last moment and clutching it on the defending side, or the sprint from second spawn down mid to try one last retake on a map like Temple of Anubis. The designs felt very close to home, I guess, even when they were new maps at the time. Maybe that's just nostalgia talking, but I think in this new environment of 5v5 (as much as I can't stand it) it could work.

Honestly there aren't many times when a pharah Ult doesn't result in death, but I do try for at least 1 guaranteed kill😂. That was some spray n pray type shenanigans.
I think it would be cool if they turned 2 cps into a capture the flag type mode where one team is only defending and the other is only trying to capture for a round on the first check point, then after that round switch offense and defense but move the point to point two. maybe then go back to first checkpoint but don't switch offense and defense after that ect but then it might be a bit disorienting. could just be an arcade mode if it is hard to make balanced properly, it would be nice to keep the maps in some way though. On a side note here's an even hotter take: while i know ctf is a pretty unpopular mode with obvious metas right now, but i still think it would be cool to have them in normal quick play/comp rotations.
i like the most of the map design in the 2cp maps, but man their was things that just made it not good. like hanamura gate, that thing was good and bad at the same time
I started in OW2 so I had never played 2CP. After a toxic fist game against a PharahMercy I decided these OW1 players needed to be taught a lesson. From then on I gave people ptsd by playing Brig
2CP was way better than the god awful attempt they made at trying to improve it with "Flashpoint" and replacing it with Push. These maps nowadays are just way too fucking big.

it's not exactly the same but go play 2cp arcade if you enjoy it
Honestly there aren't many times when a pharah Ult doesn't result in death, but I do try for at least 1 guaranteed kill😂. That was some spray n pray type shenanigans.
2CP has the essence of OverWatch where we need to play as a team to win. I miss OW and I miss 2CP.
Hanamura is so pretty bring it back
2CP >>>> PUSH
The echo doom diffed him 😭😭😭 classicccc
Bring back 6v6! Make a legacy mode that has 2cp too!
Where's my Temple of Anubis?!
i tolerated 2cp, saw it back in the game and tried it, instant regret
Honestly my 2CP itch is so well satisfied by Flashpoint that I've started calling it 5CP
I played 2cp in the arcade and I still find it fun, as long as it's not paris, horizon, or volksaya defense
What’s the workshop code for the ow1 6vs 6 gamemode??
im withchu oldbones, im withchu...
Old maps hit different
When it was the arcade it was all played for a week. I miss 2CP
Alright this man GHOSTPANTS is in every video HE IS AN ICON
Glad to see the rank 2 reaper again ❤
I would like to see if 2cp would work with 5v5
Goddammit I missed community night apparently
Mannnn I liked 2cp maps.
i like the most of the map design in the 2cp maps, but man their was things that just made it not good. like hanamura gate, that thing was good and bad at the same time
I started in OW2 so I had never played 2CP. After a toxic fist game against a PharahMercy I decided these OW1 players needed to be taught a lesson. From then on I gave people ptsd by playing Brig
U should have played brig on Release U would have Had the best time
2CP was way better than the god awful attempt they made at trying to improve it with "Flashpoint" and replacing it with Push.
These maps nowadays are just way too fucking big.
They played those two 6v6 games and it looked ridiculous.
I really really really hope Blizzard keeps 5v5 because man that didn't look fun at all.
Starting off the video real defensive over a simple question. Good start.
OW2 5v5 should've been 2 tanks/2 dps/1 support -- standardizing the healing done by all supports to compensate but otherwise keeping them as they are now -- and you can't change my mind on this.
i will never understand the 2CP hate
"If you get CC'd by multiple things at once it breaks your character"
So OW1?
Ah the memories
Are you able to try 6v6 in a workshop custom?
I'm more amazed that people prefer Flashpoint over 2cp
I don't want the 2cp game mode, just the maps, maybe they can be expanded and remade into flashpoint or something?
