This is a bit of a hot take but I think after the announcement for PVE getting removed, the community has reached an all-time low in motivation to take the game seriously. OWL is not in a great place either. People aren't motivated to improve because OWL gave players some kind of obscene goal of becoming so good they might even reach the level of their favourite Player in OWL. @@jawaela i don think matchmaking (the mechanics behind it) has changed much in the last 6 years so the "current" matchmaking is the same matchmaking that was always there. Dont get me wrong i agree that it’s completely warranted to be upset by it but the question is why does it feel worse now? Personally i think its because since OW2 a lot of new players came in and overwatch is the kind of "shooter" where even if you have decent aim it doesnt matter as much. It takes months or even years to fully learn every mechanic and interaction and map spot in the game and these things matter way more than aim. So the problem is that ow matchmaking doesnt care about that, it will put new players on the same team with veterans thinking they are at the same "skill" level which results in 0 team chemistry, a mess of a match and the team that has the most new players in usually looses. Im not hating on new players! If they only changed matchmaking to also account for time played along with mmr and sr so that new players play with new players and veterans with veterans i think it would make a huge difference!

I like how flats uploads a video of him genuinely struggling and having a hard time and the comments are overwhelmingly like "good...GOOOD, SUFFER!" You people kinda deserve the community that you exist in.
Honestly the best impact I can have as a tank at this point is to either rein shield as much damage as possible then sacrifice for team fight wins, or basically just dm as dva so my dps can actually do something then try to dive supports. Not to mention playing tank now is the most lonely and isolating experience ever in OW. It’s so crap
I refuse to believe anyone who believes this plays any other roles for any meaningful period of time. I've mained tank this season and s3 and it's chill asf. Well, it was better before jq buff, but still. You have loads of tools at your disposal, a lot of player agency, and your input translates well into fight outcomes (ie make a good play=win, make a bad play=lose). It's not as forgiving as support, but it's definitely more forgiving than dps
Flats finally has the average OW2 experience the rest of us have daily at any time of day. And yeah, winning doesn't feel like anything anymore in this game. I'm honestly just dead inside over both losses and wins and it's one of many, many reasons why I quit.

No joke, I've stopped playing tank in comp, it literally doesn't matter. You have the least amount of impact, the most to do, and the most likely to just be fully countered every game or Zen discorded. Switched to DPS and Support, winning more, I feel like I have more control over winning/losing. Playing tank is a joke at this point.
It very much is the ability for the entire team to adjust to a good tank player that is carrying. Just swap to the zen/ana, hanzo/torb/cass and the tank can't do a single thing for the rest of the game. If that tank is the carry player (highest mmr on the team and such) it's just an instant loss when they pick such heroes.
agreed. the only way you can carry a game as tank is if you diff the enemy tank in a significant way. if their teammates start counter swapping to screw you over after you play well, all you can do is sit there like a bitch and take it. it's just not fun. you get one successful push as dva then the zaryas, the syms, the meis, and the zens all come out of the woodwork to make your life hell. screw playing tank.
Nah it's not a vendetta. Like I'm a dps player and I know if I don't kill a JQ or a Ram they're gonna W key into me and my whole existence is gonna be wiped out, same with my supports. So it's easier to just get rid of 'em. But that's a fundamental problem with Overwatch's design. Tanks are MADE to not have fun, it's literally their role

My experience with this game is that few people actually play their roles well. Lots of DPS can’t seem to land shots, Tanks run off on their own (full-on Rip and Tear until it is done status) and get murdled, and there’s DPS Moira/Ana/Baptiste EVERYWHERE. But when you get people who know their roles, play them well, and aren’t afraid to swap characters, it’s magical. 👌👌
@@epicgamersauce3516 No I know. When people are topped off or not in danger, they should absolutely lay on some pressure. But when Moira Fades into their backline to leave us all with a single Zenyatta for healing, they’re hurting more than helping. That’s my main thing is healers that shoot first and heal later. Edit: especially in Plebe Rank where I’m at. Newbie Moiras who watch a Sick TikTok Clip™️ and think they know how to flank properly and score a ton of kills because some content creator set up a clip with their friends. It works sometimes, but considering Moira offers insane sustain and less damage, I think healing should be the main priority.
@Mechadyne fair point but as a high diamond/low master zen/kiri main you shouldnt ever be playing zen moira lmao. That moira playstyle actually isnt bad, you just need the right comp for it. That being said i fucking hate playing with or as a moira. Bap however isnt heal first shoot second, because of his tempo he has to be doing both at the same time and even very worth to hard focus dps sometimes even when people are low. He has the burst to save teammates after getting a kill rather than topping them up and missing out on that damage. In shit rank the moiras are gonna do it wrong and die, but when you know what your doing i mean.
I’m hard stuck plat and I know what I’m doing wrong. However watching my dps position like shit and not hit a single shot really makes me question whether I should continue playing support.
@@epicgamersauce3516 All fine and dandy, but like I mentioned on my last comment, I’m in Plebe Rank and QP. Not many players have good target acquisition or decent familiarity with their kit or knowledge of any composition. They pick a character they like, or one perceived to be meta and just shoot shit. Down here, there’s no good positioning or good teamplay, so everyone takes shittons of damage and is almost constantly in need of healing. Hell, last night I was playing Ramattra, I stood next to a Moira with 10% of my HP left for 15 second saying “I need healing”. Nothing. Kept suckin people off like a College Freshman and huckin damage orbs like a vengeful Ex. That’s my issue. I tried pushing back a bit on Eichenwalde, had a Baptiste on the bridge high ground. I’m in clear visible sight below, shield gets shredded by the enemy team, we hold that line for like…I dunno, 20 seconds. No healing, no invul field, no nothing from our Baptiste. Just useless bullets barely hitting anything while we all get massacred because our off-healer was Zenyatta. Fuckin frustrating man.

@@unfortunatedisgrace246 nah the other guy is right tho lmao, the high rank players ALWAYS say if you lose youre the common denominator (besides smurfs and throwers)
In my experience, this is what ranked has been like for a while in ow2. One or two teammates under perform in some manner, either they have bad positioning, can't get in good picks/plays, and can't keep any of their teammates alive. Doesn't matter what role you play, you have to be noticeably better than everybody in the lobby and have the other teammates realize this, and aid you in any way they can. I've also been on both sides, helping a teammate carry, and having to rely on one or two other teammates to carry myself. Either way it is extremely stressful and unfun, even if we win. It's also not fun when it happens to the other team, as if everyone on your team is competent it's a wipe. Only fun is if both teams are evenly matched, which is the minority of games. Too often teams are one sided and you or someone else has to have the game of their life to win. This on top of the fiasco earlier last week is the final nail in the coffin for me for and many others that played overwatch 2 I think. The game just isn't fun anymore.
As a GM player I cant touch the game right now for 3 main reasons. 1: cheating is really becoming the norm in GM, they are shamelessly borderline rage hacking if the cheater is about to lose no matter if its on my team or not. 2: They did something to the special effects and now its bugged and your screen just fills up with layer upon layer of effects. 3: They 10000% bugged the reduce motion option as I do have really bad motion sickness and oh boy its bad since last patch And honourable mention: The ranking system is completely screwed, I get all seasons silvers and golds in my GM games turning the match into a one sided stomp. Blizzard fucked up good.
On my current run, I'm 0/6. 5 of those 6 losses are from teammates straight up leaving the game. One guy repeatedly left and rejoined because someone on the team said "okay mercy player"
i’ve been a tank player my entire OW career. lately i have been queueing DPS & supp only. tank is just not fun. its too much pressure and not enough payoff. theres a reason it’s the fastest role to queue
Something went very wrong this season when everyone got evaluated completely out of rank end of season, it really hasn't fixed itself yet and games are steamrolled one side or another, very occasionally getting a even game.
In his darkest hour when Pve has been canceled, he goes to the darkest place of all overwatch ranked. A hole where hope and enthusiasm goes to die just like where Pve is now, hopeless.
This is so validating. Ive been saying ranked has been so bad recently. I literally cant win games solo queued right now. I peaked diamond 1 and ive lost so many games sense then I'm down in plat again which I haven't been since OW1. Literally stuck getting gold and silver tanks, I just...I can't carry 4 people all game. Like...the only way I win solo now is if I play widow and almost never miss, its ridiculous.
I was a diamond support and everything was cool. Then i had the 4 worst games of my life... I never recovered 😂 . What tilted me the most is that I swap to what we need but my team mates hard stick with the same characters even if it's not working. Like bro plz get off of ashee!!!
Okay I really thought it was just me that was going through this right now. My rank has been PLUMMETING. I’m talking losing 1-2 ranks every 5 wins. I can’t even pick the game up right now because I just know it’s gonna ruin my night
Good thing I’m already at rock bottom, bronze I can’t possibly rank down right? I will say though as a new player, and a controller player, I feel like I’m more in the cardboard rank
Same, lol. I’ve played like….4 matches of Ranked. It feels like people don’t even know what their buttons do down there. I stick to Quick Play. At least there it’s a roll of the dice.
my MMR stayed the same from OW1, my peak was 4100, ever since OW2 came out i can't even get to Diamond. Just this week, i was Plat 3, went 5-6 W/L got to Plat 1, went 5-1, got sent back to Plat 2, went 5-2 stayed in Plat 2, went 5-1 back to Plat 1, 5-3 and back to Plat 2, i gave up, uninstalled and i don't plan on going back. Meanwhile, on my smurf account that i used to play with friends because the peak was Diamond and the MMR was lower, i got to Masters in less than 30 games.
Streaming overwatch used to be a dream and now it looks like a nightmare. I think id rather work in a factory than have to stream this game 12 hrs a day
We all have that day where its just loss after loss after loss, even players like you have those days, sure it sucks but its also valuable for learning from your mistakes from positioning to countering, even wether you reload at the right time or not, always something to learn
Finally I get to see a streamer in a losing streak for once, now this is something I rarely see,,,, ps though this is the reason why I like to stay in gold rank, to prevent this happening to me
I was experiencing a nine win streak, but then not only are we hard carrying or me just being bait so my friend can pick for me we lose ten games back to back for refusal to heal and pockets being pockets those comedically few that incorrectly use their role. I lost my train of thought because of 12:28
"Where the nut go" - items on tracer don't stick (think pulse bomb). So when tracer recalls the nut falls straight down while shes going backwards in the time stream. You're welcome!
"And people think this role needs nerfs???" - proceeds to open up the score card and has 2x the damage of anyone on his team and 3k more than anyone in the game.
This has been my experience over the last two days. Like no matter how hard I play or carry it's just not enough. After awhile it's HARD not to get tilted.
I get how you feel. That's why it's important to just let the game go and focus more on your improvement. if you go into a match with the focus of improving your own gameplay and mistakes, then the loss won't feeel like as much of a waste of time if you are still working towards your goals.
Lol I am pretty sure when he solo queued the game was trying to balance his ranking with the other team so they gave him low as ranked teammates and high as level opponents to balance it out. There is no freaking way to win in that case. Its like having a top 500 carry diamonds against grandmasters hahahhaha.

The removal of PVE is basically just kicking the dead horse, so the only real reason to grind rank right now is to show off to friends or to have the high ground in discussions about the game.
I would like to see the community eventually get out of it's slump though. The devs and big corpa might have failed us but OW fans are stubborn as h*ll and will eventually come back with a vengeance

@@neilmallick20 I think it’s completely warranted to be upset at the current bs matchmaking

It's the opposite for me. As a DPS I feel like I have minimal influence. But as a tank I have total control of the game.
I feel this way too. I can’t stand being countered by the tank and both dps. I go sigma: Mei and sym. I got Winston: bastion and reaper.
Not to mention the pressure on you since you are the only tank and if you fuck up everyone notices
This is what I go through as tank half the time, it's like they have a vendetta against tanks lol. Doesn't help that the supports don't help either
@@vopcracker3193 This is a very cringe take

My experience with this game is that few people actually play their roles well. Lots of DPS can’t seem to land shots, Tanks run off on their own (full-on Rip and Tear until it is done status) and get murdled, and there’s DPS Moira/Ana/Baptiste EVERYWHERE.
But when you get people who know their roles, play them well, and aren’t afraid to swap characters, it’s magical. 👌👌
Ok but moira bap and to some extent ana are supposed to do a pretty decent amount of dps lol, bap especially.
@@epicgamersauce3516
No I know.
@@epicgamersauce3516
All fine and dandy, but like I mentioned on my last comment, I’m in Plebe Rank and QP.

Ranked is shit at the moment, I had 3 teammates leave in the middle of my games in a one hour game session 😢
3: They 10000% bugged the reduce motion option as I do have really bad motion sickness and oh boy its bad since last patch
And honourable mention: The ranking system is completely screwed, I get all seasons silvers and golds in my GM games turning the match into a one sided stomp.
Blizzard fucked up good.
