- Italy quietly has one of the largest roller coaster lineups in Europe. As of the end of 2022, they have just over 130 operating. So in this video, I will rank the country's top 12 roller coasters.

I'm so happy, as an italian, seeing you upload this list. I belive our country needs more rollercoasters, but parks are really stupid except a few family-managed parks. Speaking of family run parks, you need to go to Movieland. Absolutely. It's almost the best park in the country. It may not be big, with large theming areas like Gardaland, full of coasters, but it packs a punch. It has amazing shows and unique attractions that really immerse you more than a lot of Gardaland's. Plus, i've founded Diabolik a lot better than a standar clone, due to its location and on-board audio. It is also very smooth if you avoid the center of the train. I agree with Oblivion being better than Raptor. At least Oblivion does provide great floater airtime, and i'm obsessed with the first drop in the 3rd row. Thank you for the video, was nice to see!
I wish I could have done Movieland, but I only had one day in the area. Had to cram Gardaland and Mirabilandia into the same day and then drive overnight to get to the airport.

I've ridden all of the major italian coasters except Eurofighter, Vertigo and Desmo Race (It was closed during my visit too🙄)... Anyway, here's my list:

@@CanobieCoaster No it doesn't😅 During my three days visit in 2019 it opened, reached a 2 hours waiting time within the first 5 minutes, and after 30 minutes of operation it closed and never reopened😀
i had the luck to experience desmo race. It's an interesting ride, fun to do with friends and family and if you keep the accelerator on, some parts of the layout can give some airtime pops

The theming around Oblivion The Black hole is such eye candy.
It looks sweet.
That overbank in Shock looks very intense

rode it some months ago, and hits about 4.7/4.8 positive g, measured with my phone, it's crazy intense

I can happily report that Shaman no longer has the rough transition out of the corkscrew. It's perfectly smooth now. And it runs super fast on a hot day!

I saw u wrote back to someone in the comments on I think the minnesota coaster ranking saying that the minnesota ranking would be the last state ranking for a while. But now ur whipping out these other rankings that are countries, and I'm not complaining at all because they're fun to watch

I love Schwarzkopfs so the Schwarzkopf in the intro got me in a good mood. I rank Schwarzkopf over b&m and intamin
I prefer B&M and Intamin.
Storm is probably my most curious coaster I have been on Alpina Blitz in which my one complaint is the restraints do come down tight, also can Isped compete with likes of Taiga or Velocicoaster or even Cheetah Hunt or Taron
iSpeed is closer to Maverick in my opinion.
I haven't ridden Alpina, but I've ridden Storm and trust me: don't expect extreme airtime. If you're in the back, the first drop and two hills have some ejector going down, but the other hills have more of a weak floater...
The final heartline roll is great tho, and the restraints are fine and don't come down as much : )
I have been to Italy at the end of October in 2022 (Movieland Park and Gardaland) and here's my ranking:
5) Shaman
Shaman is a great coaster that has a very classic feel, it has great inversions and some fun turns. That one transition indeed tries to break your neck, other than that it's really smooth.
4) Blue Tornado
Ah yes most enthusiasts hate Vekoma SLCs, I found a way to enjoy it. Great layout with awesome forces, great inversions and good pacing.
3) Diabolik Invertigo
This ride is definitely very good and surprisingly smooth. Very intense, great ride.
2) Oblivion TBH
This dive coaster definitely is great, awesome drop and a good layout afterwards.
1) Raptor
Even thouh it's a prototype, I think this ride is fantastic. Awesome theming, and near-misses, great and fun layout with decent forces. Great ride.
Glad you liked Blue Tornado. Usually I jam my head to the side of the restraint, but that didn't work on Blue Tornado since it had less padding.

Yes! Mammut is awesome and totally underrated.
Diabolik is just fine, btw - nothing special. But Movieland has memorably crazy rides.

Desmo Race is my #1 coaster in Italy based on a ride on the right side and with not altering the vehicles speed at all but ispeed is probably the best overall coaster as even though it has reliability issues, they are not near those of Desmo Race and if you attempt to use the speed control on Desmo Race (a key feature of the ride) then well… the ride kinda sucks… it just feels so sluggish, struggles through each element and doesn’t seem to ever recover it’s speed. As for Shaman, I’ve only been on since the re-track and that transition is brutal, I loved the coaster up to that point but since it left me hurting for days after that one transition, it currently sits as one of my bottom 5 coasters in the world. Also Mammut is low key the best coaster at Gardaland for me 😂
iSpeed had frequent but very short breakdowns for me, so it wasn't too hard to ride.

Face off (now Diabolik) at SFA was glass smooth. Zero headbanging and we were shocked how smooth it was for a vekoma. Hopefully it's retained that in the move and the years have been kind to it.
A few comments said it's very smooth.
I was in Italy for my anniversary and couldn't convince my husband to go ride any coasters. So disappointed. He likes coasters, but not anywhere near as much as his coaster fanatic wife. Maybe I'll go back one day and bring a friend lol.

Next time you go to Italy…
Check out Miragica. There’s NEVER any lines and the have this Intamin accelerator, called Senza Fiato. They also have this wild mouse coaster called Spacatempo. There’s this cool drop tower where you get launched out of a wine barrel called Per Bacco!
It’s DEFINITELY not abandoned, and Senza Fiato DEFINITELY isn’t getting LSM’s from Zamperla and rerouted to Canada. Definitely not.😅
I'll happily ride that coaster in its new home, plus that classic wood coaster I love so much.
Diabolik is actually much smoother than the others, it has no headbanging and the views are great, i rank it higher than shaman, freestyle and blue tornado by a long shot
Freestyle runs pretty bad btw
I know people hated Skyrider, but I never found it painful minus one part.
Inferno is so good aldo because of how smooth it is

I got to ride iSpeed in August last year when I was in Emilia-Romagna for family vacation. I loved the first half of the ride but the second half felt very uneven. Still a great ride but I feel like it kinda gave me “autocomplete on RCT” vibes towards the end. Also, did you get to visit Fiabilandia in Rimini? Cause I did and it was a weird family park to say the least. There’s a Pinfari called Valle degli Gnomi that may be the first wacky worm ever
The end does fizzle out, but that start is spectacular.

We went on a trip to Venice in Italy from January 19th, 2024 to January 23rd, 2024. The city looked cool. Do you know what is the closest park with roller coasters to that city? And would you like to go to that park or those parks again?
I have not been to Venice, but I know it's near Osteria Ai Pioppi (home of some homemade coasters).
In this video, Mammut at Gardaland was placed but Olandese Volante at Magicland was not. Those two are Vekoma mine train coasters. If I ask you, why?
Olandese is oddly rough for the genre.
Honestly, Italy could be a bit better as they don't have tons of coasters at any park but more about the themeing, still several rides overall. Gardaland and Miriblandia are definitely the 2 parks I would most visit. Overall though I think Italy is on the lower end for Europe country's when it comes to coasters.
There are some good parks at least.
Isn't katun a clone of raptor at cedar point...the layout looks very similar to raptor..

You've been revisiting a lot of European amusement parks over the last couple of years. Is Italy next on your list?
I don't have immediate plans to make it back there, but I will someday.
